You can never get through on the phone to make an appointment. It takes hours of waiting in line to get in. Do whatever you can online. If you can't, Bring a chair, wear comfortable shoes and bring food and drinks because these people can't figure out how to do a number system. Or better yet a phone check in system. Or that's what they want so you can't get your money from them.

When you call for appointment, they say itu2019s first come, no appointment given. When you get there they have two lines..one for appointments and one for general. The line is insane and they only allow three in at a time. Security guards are rude and short tempered. Inside they work in a slow pace. It will take the whole day to get inside. Disappointed.

Iu2019m not sure about face to face costumer service, but in my experience, a specific lady was very rude over the phone while I was asking questions. Iu2019m not sure if she was tired or just having a bad day, but her overall voice tone felt as if I was bothering her. When I asked to repeat a phone number to make sure it was correct, she repeated one in Spanish as if I didnu2019t get it because of language barriers. On a personal note, one should always leave problems at home, specially when treating costumers who are only asking for questions and not giving any attitude or problems. I am 21 years old and have never given a costumer, client, or patient the attitude this woman gave me.

I swear a grocery store is more organized and knows what they are doing more than they are.nThey correct the mistake with another mistake. They will avoid that if they hire people educated, meaning understanding the rule, not only the calculation.

I've been calling for a week straight now as the issue I have con only be resolved by going in person. I have been calling for an appointment and no one answers. I went in person and was kicked out by the security guard who rudely told me there is nothing they can do to help.

Impossible to get someone on the phone to even make an appointment. I know this is not this specifics office fault, but this system is very flawed.

Not even dogs in the most atrocious places in the world are as mistreated as human beings who come to this office to ask a simple question or to seek information.

The security there was so unprofessional and not courteous, they werenu2019t helpful at all to me or the poor older people waiting to be helped.

The waiting time is worth it. Very friendly, hard working and respectful professional personnel. For years, have been a great service to the community. Wednesdayu2019s they work faster because they close earlier than the rest of the week. The older security guard needs to be retrained in respect for the elderly and common curtesy as a whole. The younger ones have much more empathy as well as patience. Terrible loss not to have personal access to this office and itu2019s vital services. Phone services are obsolete, useless, a waste of time and most times non-existent.

Really fast and polite staff, since I got there, took me 33 minutes to complete everything that I needed to do.

If i can give them -0 start i would do it. They lost my documents and not assumed any responsibility. Dont send your documents because maybe you wont see them again than happened to me

I work for a non-profit and help many individuals with their first Social Security number. This office has been the ONLY one working in a orderly, very professional manner. Thank you for your hard work.

I was skeptical but my experience was great! 11am on a Friday and it wasnu2019t too busy. I waited about 20mins before I was called the first time. The first guy I talked to looked at me like I was nuts and sent me back to the waiting area to be called. 5-10mins later I was called to Joeu2019s desk - he is such a great guy! He went above and beyond to help me and made my day. Thanks Joe!!

Aside from being bearded like cattle early in the morning. People here are great and they were quite fast with everything we asked. Even the guards were nice. They only get a 4 due to the way the lines outside were handled, other than that they are great!

The employers do not care, take a break whenever they feel like it while they have a whole line of clients who work. This is not the dmv, i donu2019t know why it takes 25-45 minutes for each person, if youu2019re coming here at 1:30 pm, you would not be able to get your stuff done here

Worst experience ever! Long story short, I waited in line for an hour and a half to be told I can't pay with card to go get a cashiers check, went to go get the check and came back. Waited another 2 1/2 hours to be told it's a different amount. Therefore, I left since I had to go to work. Got nothing done. No one is on the same page here. For the amount of people that seek their service, their staff doesn't match. Not to mention, their horrendous parking situation. Good luck if you decide to go here. I would give them 0 stars if I could.

It's time now to open up social security offices. Nothing like going in person to get something resolved.

Organized facility. The wait didn't take that long. About a 45 minute wait to be taken care of. Went in the afternoon and mid morning and it took the same time. I've heard that if you go when they open there is a long line to get in.

I went in at 11:30am, out by 12:15pm walked into a line and yes there are a lot of people, which looks daunting, but the line goes fairly quickly. Guards and all staff are friendly and efficient. Very impressed!nnFue rapido 45min y todos son muy amables.

horrible experience, I went in just for a name change. No one there knows what they're doing, no one speaks English and no one knows what number is up next. We apparently had 66 people ahead of us at the rate they were going there only serving two people at a time. I left after waiting an hour in the sun outside and two hours inside to find our there was still 66 people to go at around 2pm. I am six months pregant and had to eat and could not stand up for that long. I had to leave with nothing done, hopefully this review helps and you hire a lawyer instead of going to this office.

they send threatening letters instructing to call a local clerk/number for arrangements, no one answers repeated daily calls , and voice mails are also ignored, when visiting office, Parking horrendous, people treated like cattle, rude guards with authority complex, once inside no one properly explains the process to reach a clerk, they bounce you from clerk to clerk forced to spend hours sitting on a hard plastic chair listening to distorted speakers' announcements, after all your info is double-checked and clerk promises everything is fine, a week later, another threatening letter arrives claiming you missed your first appointment, and must repeat the process again, more stress and calls to automated phone service to resolve the issue, finally somebody in Jamaica NYC claims everything is fine....we'll see, this is what your hard earned tax dollars get you after a lifetime of paying into the system.... Shameful...
