The day starts early with people starting to gather between 4:30 and 5 am. The location has no signs to direct where lines start. So based on logic we lined up at the front door. Wrong choice. The security guard saw us at the door but instead of telling us that the line starts down the side of the building, he let us stay until they opened only to inform everyone where the line started. Result is we are here ALL day.nTried to call to make appointment, but never an answer so no choice but to come in.nThe SS Field offices are so poorly operated but instead of having the freedom to go to ANY office, you have to go to the office for your zip code.nHORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE

I took my information for death benefit claim for my children by hand and did the drop box as instructed. Itu2019s been well over what the process time was suppose to be. I donu2019t understand how government offices can continue to run this way and no one is coming to inspect them at all. I know someone see these reviews. How many times are you going to tell me that your phone lines are dropping calls or it takes 35 to 45 minutes for an agent to come to a phone? I donu2019t believe any of it and the pandemic is not the cause of poor customer service. When Iu2019ve spoken to an agent they donu2019t even bother to look up my information to let me know anything. The main number tell you to call the local office but no one is picking up there. Itu2019s a ridiculous vicious cycle and they donu2019t care that youu2019re waiting on funds that is rightfully due you and your children. They do whatever they want when they want. Its disheartening that it would take this long to get anything from them when the information can be looked up easily. Everything the government does take forever and they know they can get away with it. DO BETTER OR SHUT THE DOORS!

Got in and out in a reasonable amount of time. The receptionist went all the way and was helping everyone get organized even with the small line outside. She made the process as painless as possible and we are thankful for her help. Wish I got her name. She even remembered our name when we finished everything and left. Good times! Best time to arrive there where itu2019s not as busy is around 3pm.

After rigorous months follow up I got an email last week from SSA with an appointment confirmation for new social security number application for my kids. Today I visited the office and finally got my work done and the officer at window# 2 was very gentle to get through all the process smoothly and providing all the necessary information needed. Also I asked him about updating my wife social security information on file and he was very kind enough and informed me to fill out the application with her signature to get it done. Today I got a call from the office and got the appointment fixed for this week am very much happy, obliged and sincerely appreciate SSA staff for getting things done right during these tough circumstances. Thank you very much for all the help and stay blessed!!! ud83dudc4dud83dude4f

How is it that a Government office with paid security does nothing for all of the people who are responsible enough to wake up early to get in line for assistance? My wife showed up at 6am to get in line early and there where people there who let about 40 people cut in the line while standing there waiting. He even came out and saw it happening with his own two eyes and didn't care about the complaints made by those who kept getting pushing further and further back. This is completely disorganized and not the way tohelppeople who are there for assistance. Mind you, we had to do it in person since the Social Security office lost our son's paperwork, which we previously mailed in. Absolutely ridiculous that the level of service provided is this bad and even worse to see how unorganized it is here. Some one needs to fix this!

This place is absolutely ridiculous. I arrived at around 8:30ish where there was a line already wrapped around the building, so I knew I would be there a while. Around 9 am the line started moving and kept moving on and off. At around 10:45 the line had stopped moving and it began to drizzle, so people started to panic and move, but I thought the line was just moving regularly. After the drizzle stopped I started to hear yelling from the SECURITY GUARDS. Apparently people moved up in panic from the rain and were not suppose to so they started yelling for everybody to move back. Instead of them moving along the long line to tell everybody what happened they just kept yelling at the front and I think one of the people waiting in line started to say some comments because I heard one of the *SECURITY GUARDS say u201cdo something aboutu201d and it seemed like he was encouraging a fight. Nothing happened and after finally getting people to move back a man from inside came out to tell everybody that the systems were down and that they did not know how long it would be. Obviously computer systems down is not their fault. I was clearly annoyed after waiting almost 3 hours, but the fact that the SECURITY GUARDS made the environment feel unsafe was completely uncalled for especially for a federal building.

My experience was actually pretty painless for the most part. I called last Monday on 03/21 starting at opening time. At first a recording kept informing me that nobody was available to take my call and to try again. And it would just hang up. After several rounds of this (and getting a busy signal a few times) it finally put me on hold. I was on hold for about 5 minutes when someone answered. I let them know I needed to do a name change due to marriage. Nobody was available to take my call so they took my phone number and said someone would call me back within an hour. I got a call back after about an hour and fifteen minutes. The lady I spoke to was pleasant. She gave me an appointment for the following Monday 03/28. I got there. Checked in with a security guard at the door and was put in line for appointments. I was called in and sat down at my exact appointment time. The process from sitting down at the window to standing and leaving took approximately 8 minutes. I dinged them a star because the phone issue in the beginning. They need to fix their phone lines as I'm sure that's the cause of much frustration for people.

If I could only make a complaint to someone about their horrible phone service and getting a case worker to return my call. I would give 0 stars. Worst agency to handle such important issues. I leave voice recordings to several case workers for several weeks now and no returned phone calls. I call the Sw office number and the other number it provides, but after more than an hour of hold time, they hang up on me. On one occasion someone answered and said to hold, to later hang up. This is ridiculous and frustrating. We all need to complaint and do something about this. How to make a complaint if it says to call and also if no answer. That's ridiculous. ud83dudc4eud83dudc4eud83dudc4eud83dudc4e

Call the office, follow the prompts and then call ended x2 without talking with agent. Go by the office and told to leave without an appointment (told at 9:10 after waiting in line when office was supposed to open at 9:00 am). Not able to schedule an appointment. Last year records lost and tried to accomplish registration on-line with effort taking hours per month for 6 months with records lost per SSA before accomplished goal. Poor service

I've been trying to call my case worker Mr.Henderson since last month, only God knows how many messages i left. And he still hasn't called me back yet. It's really sad how this social security office does people. It ought to be a crime the way they handle people!! It's really out of control. Totally ridiculous!! Wow!!

I been trying to change my name for months now. After 6 months on being denied, I finally find out why. So I corrected the issue went to this building at 2:30 ish thinking I can drop my application in the drop box. The building was closed google has closing time at 4:30. There was cars parked outside. So I knew staff was inside. People was waiting outside with appointments. Couldnu2019t get in the building. This absolutely not right. This SW office has to do better or just completely close. I donu2019t mind go little farther to get better servicesnSo I was glad when I heard they opened back up. So I waited a few weeks. Thinking that things will die down. I was surprised when I got there this morning. Line was around the corner. So I waited thinking it would move fast. A turtle would had beat me to the door. Line was slow paced, itu2019s Texas so already hot.nIu2019m really not upset about the line or slow paced. I gave up I left. But my heart was heavy. How could you let seniors and people with disabilities stand out there in line like that. Have some compassion. They need to reopen more offices, have the seniors and disabilities come inside. That Stancliff office needs fixing!!!nUpdate: on a day my husband was off. After we took care of our errands. I had my documents to drop of at the SS office in the drop box. I was surprised to see about 10 people in-line. So I stay in line, it moved quickly. I finally went inside took care of everything. The lady and gentleman guide us was very nice. Stancliff still need fixing with the line. But sadly that is happening at all their offices.

Extremely bad, I do not know who the manager of this building is, one of the heavyset black ladies is going one by one in the line to ask the applicant their purpose, and based from there they will let them go inside first. We were in the line since 8 am and it's not 12:16 pm to be exact and we are outside. If you ask them the reason why they are not letting you in, the whole staff needs to be changed. Most applicants are immigrants or seniors and they have no respect for them seriously they need to work somewhere, working in public offices is not appropriate for them. This office deserves a negative rating.

Worst service , worst people . My dad has been waiting over 7 months to get his money through ss. They donu2019t pick up the phone what time is 2 hours . They say to make a appointment but you canu2019t even make appointment!!!! Then when they pick up every time someone different but no one has any clue of the case and give very conflicting information. Their fax doesnu2019t work . All they cause is suffering for senior citizen and older people . After waiting for 2 months not to be able to get hold anyone I went to the office and stood there in line just to get insulted by front door guard . He was insulting and yelling at all older people in extremely disrespectful tone . Why govt say they will help senior citizen and lies ? These workers who works in the office are useless lazy people they donu2019t want to help !!!!

If I could give zero stars, I would. This place does not care about making people wait for multiple hours in the extreme heat outside or apparently the possibility of children, pregnant women, or the elderly getting heat stroke. At least attempt to do much better.

I arrived at 9 am and the line was so long and now itu2019s 12:38 pm and I still waiting to go inud83dude33

The security guard here on this date and time clearly hates his job! I witnessed him scream at multiple people during the span of 30 minutes. So inconsiderate of people that are just trying to ask a question. If you donu2019t speak English I recommend you have someone that does come with you or else he will only kick you out without hesitation.

Worst phone service I have ever seen. Tried to call since last week, but couldnu2019t get hold of anyone. Luckily, once somebody spoke and replied I would get a call back by the end of the day for scheduling appointment. But I never received call back. This process wasted lots and lots of time. Very unresponsiveu2026.ud83dude21ud83dude21

All I can say isu2026u2026ridiculous. I started calling around 8:57am this morning. I finally got on without the phone hanging up on me at 9:03am. And to this moment I am still on hold. Itu2019s 3:55pm and the office closes at 4:00pm. Perhaps Iu2019ll try calling back tomorrow. This is the worst for public service. Honestly Iu2019m lost for words. GOD it definitely has to be a better way!!!

This office has the worst service ever! I sent my citizenship and DL to apply for SS card and I never receive them back it's been 3 months and I call almost every single day and when they reply once a month they say someone with the last name Torres ext 15685 will reach out to me in 24 hours 2 weeks now I haven't heard back from him or at least answer his phone. This is negligence I spoke to another SS office and they said they should at least provide the tracking number if the sent my documents back to me and cant even provide this information I'm not the only person who's going tru this with this office someone needs to pay.nLost documents, negligence.

The are no help at all any questions you have they donu2019t know anything and that is the answer you get u201cI donu2019t know what to tell youu201d the security officer is so rude he literally told a lady to go drive with out her driver license and when she told him she canu2019t do that because itu2019s illegal how am I supposed to do that his answer was u201cwell I usually do it with one hand on the wheel and 1 foot on the gasu201d they really should have more professional people working there

The SSA is, 2 years into the pandemic, still stuck in their old ways of avoiding its customers. 'Phone service' only it states. Problem is, you cant actually get anyone on the phone to receive this supposed 'service'. Then again, it is the SSA, did we expect anything else. It just reconfirms the stereotype of this kind of agency.

I sent my sons original birth certificate in 6 months ago and have not been able to receive it back yet! Nobody has answered the phone!!!! I am going to go up there and ruffle a lot of feathers this building needs to be shut down! ATTEN: MS. stringfield whereu2019s my sons documents?!!!

Called 3 times followed all the prompts . The phone then rang for 10 minures and then it tell s you to call the toll free number.nGovernment workers, sit and get paid for doing absolutely nothing. This is part of today's issues. Get rid of them !

I just called these people and waiter over 20 mins to speak to someone and they lately was frustrated with me because she says she couldnu2019t hear me and then hung up on me. Terrible service wouldnu2019t recommend. I hope she loses her job during a crisis.

I dropped off my paperwork in July for a name change on my SS. I still have not received my new card. I have called over a dozen times, they told me it was being processed, then they told me it was denied because of some documents issue. I tried reaching my case worker for the application, left 4 messages over two weeks, she still has not called back. This is absolutely ridiculous.
