I couldn't have had a better experience at the Social Security Office on Post Rd. In Lawrence. I was so nervous because I saw the 1.9 rating of Reviewers but they were so friendly and kind. I made an appt ahead of time like they suggested and I was out of there in 5 min. I give them a 5 star rating. .

Pray to God that you donu2019t need anything from your local Social Security office. But if you do, good luck! You will be chasing your tail the whole time. The local offices are all close since March 2020, and no one will answer your call locally. You phone call will be transferred to the main office in Washington DC with on average 2 hours waiting time. They will tell you that you must visit a local office for certain transactions. When you tell them about your delema , they will just tell you that their is nothing they can do ! So whatu2019s the use off Them asking someone to do something that itu2019s practically impossible to accomplish! No one can make an appointment or talk with the local office or do anything anymore!!!!!

Bureaucratic constipation at its finest.nnNo one answers phones, no way to make appointments, no way to do much of anything and they expect constituents to mail their passport, drivers license, and birth certificate. No thanks.nnThis is an absolute joke and I cannot believe my tax dollars/paychecks support this level of incompetence.

All I need to do is change my last name after my recent marriage. No one will answer even after being on hold for over an hour. Line just keeps ringing. Drove to the location & no one is there. Called the national line & had the same experience. No one answering.nFrom reports they are supposed to reopen early next month & I do hope thats true.

Somehow my paperwork that was dropped off in the Dropbox 3/10/22 @ 1:40pm u201cdisappearedu201d. Iu2019m supposed to believe that nobody in the office stole it. That it just vanished into thin air. Police report has been filed!!!!!

avoid at all costs. Consistently give incorrect information regarding benefits, apply wages to benefits incorrectly and generally have no clue.

I just had the most helpful gentleman answer all my questions for me. He took his time and answered everything fully. Could not have had a better experience.

Its funny how everyone else is open up for buisness but the government. I have to trust my government with orginal documents that if they loose, they wont pay for it. All because they can't be open and make buisness wear a mask live everyone else does. Good ole USA

The worst experience I had at the government office,The whole United States is open in covid pandemic but the Great and legendary Security administration, decides to close its doors to public.nthat just makes things very inconvenient for people that need Social Security help.nThe things that could be done in half an hour gets done in one month because some genius in the head office decides to close it's doors.nnThese people need original documents to do anything and I have sent my original passport and they have lost my passport so now it's going to cost me $150 to get a new passport.nnevery time I send documents to the office they return it back saying this is not enough.nif you try to call them nobody picks up.nnCountry would be better off without a Social Security number.nthey're losing money anyways.

They got mad and irritated just because I asked questions. P.S. They don't even know if anything was sent out from their system. I feel they are just clocking in for hours and hate to help others..

The most rudest people Iu2019ve ever met no matter how polite you are they are rude. I thought customer service was for people who wanted to help customers but this place right here has the rudest person Iu2019ve ever met and they give you different information each time and confuse you and get mad because they tell you different information

Rude, Rude!!! I politely asked for an appointment to fix a mistake by Social Security. I was told I could not get an appointment. Then I was instructed to put my driver's license in a drop box along with a birth certificate. When I said I can't drive without my license, I was told I gave you another option of a passport. They obviously have no skills talking to people. Please replace people who are unkind from the moment they answer the phone.

Horrible customer service . Nobody wants to work here. They are just wasting federal money. Firstly lazy as*ess wonu2019t pick up your call and if by mistake they pick it up, they will behave rudely and hang up without giving information. Applying for social security is my constitutional right. I am recording each time some lazy a*s hangs up my phone without giving me info so that i can report them and sue them with proof.

Iu2019ve been trying to get an appointment for almost a month And they told me you can send your information your papers but Iu2019m not gonna send something important and they gonna lose it the big question When theyu2019re gonna be open to public

No one answers the phone. I have called everyday and wait over an hour on hold. No one has answered for five straight days.

I have left numerous of voice mails for both Ms. Gary and Ms.Jones and not once did they ever call me back. I am in a position where I am unable to catch up on my bills because they decided they wanted to cut my benefits off and have me owe them. How does that work if they donu2019t answer the phone calls or call back. This is by far the worst customer service I have ever received. Please shut this building down!!!

Canu2019t get any help from this location. Even after I have called 12,000 times!! Does anyone work at this location?
    Vicky Cooke
Had everything taken care of over the phone, it took about 6 weeks to get the call back, I guess they are pretty busy
    CJ Geddes
Every time I call I have received excellent service. The longest I've had to wait is 10 minutes but it was right before closing so being in hold was expected.
    shauna hunt
I sit on hold for 30 minutes at a time, only to have it then ring through followed by them hanging up the call. Poor customer service
    Debra Bills
You can't ever get thru and after waiting 35 minutes a voice comes on telling you to call back later ,just ridiculous
    skylar mayes
Awful service. Required to call in and the automated system states that there is a 15 minute wait time. I had someone answer my phone call and they discussed my issue with me for 60 seconds and before they gave me any info, hung up on me. I called back and waited for another 15 minutes, and the line was answered. At this point I could hear them chattering to each other in the background, when I saidhelloI heard one of them sayoh!Ans the phone hung up. On my third call I waited for 20 minutes before the automated system said noone was avaliable and that I should call back later.nnAbsolutely embarrassing service from an office that represents our government.
    Jonna MacDougall
I haven't had a recent experience with them yet, as I have attempted to call them three times over the past several days and each time I was on hold for 20 minutes and then the call disconnected. Perhaps I'm doing something wrong???
    Joanna Cage
Our government services are not reliable when it comes to helping with filing for SSD & helping with Medicare enrollment or any other services that calls for them to pay out. They make us pay for sure & on time but when it comes to drawing from where you paid into for so many years the communication breaks down & the consumer suffers without adequate services &/or benefits.
    keyona mcmurren
I was told I had reached the lifetime max of social security cards and that I had to send a letter to show why I really need it and I did and still haven't heard back in a long ..then I'm due a back pay ive been sending proof and calling since August and still nothing
    Joe Pederson
I don't know why they keep this place open their waiting taxpayers money they're they will not answer the phone
    Kookid Mann
Nobody picks up the phone and if someone does pick up they talk disrespectful. How will I get any information if know one will put any effort into there jobud83eudd26ud83cudffeu200du2642ufe0f

Just poor, poor, poor service and extremely rude for no reason! Its true I ask a lot of questions everywhere I go and no 1 seems to have a problem except for these people. Who doesn't have questions when they're trying to handle their business? Why go to work if you don't really want to work? Now if they were replaced with employees that are actually helpful that would be a great start!
    Caitlin Ford
These lazy workers will keep you on hold all day long while u201cthey check your application u201c all I wanted to do was change my last name. And they keep putting me on hold for hours at a time hoping Iu2019ll just hang up
    kimberly woods
