My sons benefits have been discontinued and I donu2019t know why. It is the only income I have and Iu2019ve been calling everyday and staying on hold for hours. I canu2019t make an appointment because no one answers. I canu2019t pay rent with out it. Iu2019m so frustrated because now imma end up on the street with my Blind child because they wonu2019t answer the phone.

EDIT: We've been back 2 more times since then, both in the mid afternoon. A) They only give appointments for certain transactions. B) Both times, the place was almost empty, and we didn't have to wait more than 10 minutes. So the original post below, based on the Monday after thanksgiving , is probably not typical.nnThe statement thatPeople typically spend 25 min to 1 hr hereis seriously skewed by people with appointments vs walk-ins. Just left after waiting 40 minutes. There were ~35 other people already there, and they called 2 numbers the whole time. So: make an appointment, (unless you have an emergency, since it can take up to 21 days to get one).

Due to COVID restrictions for in person appointments, I sent all my original documents like passport, EAD Card, driving license to them in a certified mail in March'21, but never received them till now since then. :( Can't understand why they were not sent back alteast with a tracking number.

Called regarding simple address update. Social Security office representative was combative, belligerent, and downright nasty simply because I had to ask her to repeat her questions several times because of her thick accent. Absolutely unbelievable that we employ people for public facing positions with such a poor attitude. I am shocked and appalled that I had to deal with such a rude and unpleasant individual. She should be removed from her position and given a job in which she doesn't have to speak to anyone.

My family and I have always received great service from this office. Social Security offices have been closed during COVID, but this office continues to provide telephone service. I have learned that itu2019s best to not call when they open at 9 am or during lunch periods.

The wait was much shorted than I anticipated. I had just enough time to fill out the form for a new card before my number was called. The employee at Window 2 was very polite and helpful, and made the process very easy. I also overheard the employee at Window 1 as she interacted with customers, and she was also very polite and helpful, in spite of how unkindly one customer was speaking to her. I will be telephoning the office Monday to let their manager know, as well.

they do not return phone calls at all. they have not even followed their own plans laid out in THEIR letters to me. when I have had to be in the office to follow up the wait time AND concern/respect shown is BETTER at the DMV than at this S.S. office.

Went to get a replacement social security card for my infant daughter because after she was born I never got one in the mail! I was told that they needed anIDfor her other then the birth certificate I brought with me. I was thinking to myself, do I have to go to DMV to get a ID for my infant? She is a frickin infant! The woman working the desk could of cared less and said to go pick up immunization records signed off by a doctor then come back. She said the birth certificate only proves she was born but not that she is alive! I asked if I could have her doctors office fax documentation to them now and she said NO, only originals from doctors office signed! Really? The only reason I need a replacement card in the first place was because they never sent the original to me after my daughter was born. This is their mistake and I have to do all the leg work again in the middle of a work day. The woman blamed the US Mail for me not getting her card, but did verify that my daughter had a SSN on file. She gave me my daughters SSN and had me write in on a post-it note. I'm glad she gave me the number, but if she can give me the number why can she not print me a replacement card? My issue is with the crappy customer service, and general lack of care. This is generally the same type of interaction you get when dealing with Govt workers at DMV and the Post Office. They don't care! They don't problem solve and they don't want to REALLY help. They just seem to want you to move along and get out of their building. Empathy is something they lack, I know rules are not their fault always, but I have been in situations like this before with Govt workers and one says different rules from the other. I bet whenever I can get off work to go back the next person running the counter will say I don't need these records to get a replacement card.

I had a good overall experience signing up for my benefits through this office. The woman who phoned me to confirm all my information was patient and informative. Everything went smoothly. Long live Social Security !

Very poor service. Arrogant server with attitude. Best time to go there is after 2pm. Before that there is huge queue waiting to be served. Advice to the SS Administration: hire some people, offer services online, reduce the bureaucracy.

I had a long wait as is typical for most government offices; however, the customer service was very pleasant.

They have there own rules. You can't even talk to any supervisor when you need too. They will call you within 24 hrs but it never happens!!!
    Josh Becker
It's your classic told one thing on the phone, after waiting on hold for an hour, and then when you take time off from work to go there they say you needed to do something else or bring something else and make you waste an entire second day to come there.

John Grimes really went to bat for me when there was a in-house snafu with my paperwork. Thank you so much John!
