I showed up too my daughters application appointment and they no showed me. Told me some B.S excuse, than Kept my daughters passport and Birth Certificate. Said when I called someone would get back to me and no one has. Now when I call it is disconnected. I did what they told me and they stole all my documentation instead of doing their job. I guess It seems we are the new Africa. What can I do....nnUpdate - after 30 days of my daughters documents being lost and 3 appointments. the first one no showed, the second one canceled at the door, the third one was a success. Don't expect much, and it's going to be a struggle, But if you persevere you can still get a social.... Even in Africa. Good luck and God bless you all. You filthy animals.

Trying change address for elderly parents. The ss person claimed I gave him their previous address and rather than give further information as to what to do, simy hung up on us. I called back and she let her phone ring, put me back on hold and then simply disconnected again. I understand about protecting people from fraud but this lady is the readon everyone hates goverment red tape. She couldnt be bothered to help and was very RUDE.

The lady that answers the phone is extremely rude I had to call 5 times because she kept hanging up on me while I was asking my questions. Based off the reviews she apparently does this often. She just sounds annoyed when you call in and she obviously doesnu2019t want to do her job! Worst service ever! We cant even go in at least have someone that will help when you call!

Have been trying for months to get Medicare and am asked to present original birth certificate and naturalization Cert by regular mail. Was told there was a drop box and there is not.. It must be nice to stay at home and get paid for not doing your job. Everywhere else is open. my tax dollars at work.

Called to ask questions about changing my last name to my husbands last name and with all this covid stuff going on its been very difficult to do everything and the lady I talked to was very rude about it all and just gave me little information on what I need to do then hung up on me. Very rude and not happy with this place.

Called about a little snag on my bill for Medicare Part B. Sherry was wonderfully helpful & got the issue sorted out. My only complaint is that there was lots of noisy static on the line, but thatu2019s not something Sherry can control. Overall, the whole experience was better than I had anticipated it would be.

I need to change my name on my SS card. I called to find out how to do it online and mail. All I could understand was I needed my marriage license and a photo ID and mail it in to the Tyler office. And it has to be the original documents. I don't want to mail my original documents or my driver license. I didn't get much help:( I would rather do this in kind of thing in person. So I guess I'll wait until ya'll decide to reopen the Tyler office I will just wait. This is just crazy. Very poor customer service

It did take a long time to reach an agent but went smoothly.

No one answers the phone. You will be put on hold and then hung up on. Doors still closed. Sure would be nice to have a job where I'm not accountable to my customer and didn't have to deal with them at all....

The lady I was dealing with was nice at first but then she got to be a little rude Iu2019m not sure why. why not have a little compassion I know yu2019all deal with some rude people totally understand I work in a hospital but I was not being rude just saying I didnu2019t understand something and she seemed to be very agitated because I was asking questions. Any maybe just picked a wrong day to go up there. Over all the wait was not to long.

Average wait for a hearing in the US is 630 days my hearing was set up in 120days. The wait was over an hour but considering they are extremely busy it's understandable. Staff was very nice and accommodating . My hearing went smoothly . I was informed my decision would be in the mail in 60 to 90 days and I received it in only 10 days. This office seems to be much faster than average. When going to a social security office always remember:nHave everything they requested of younBe paitent it will be crowded and the wait longnThe staff is under a lot of pressure they are doing the best they can.

Was answered in a timely manner and the agent was very knowledgeable.

This was my first time at social security office it was like being in California dmv office. The lady was slouch down in her chair wearing a mo mo looking at me like what do you want . I was in public service and if my personal were looking and acting like That she would get written up . She was excellent with one word answers to my questions. I just left. If I go in there again and this happens I am going to document this and speak to management and document that and go to the next person in management

My wait wasn't terrible at all and even at the end of her day, the young woman who helped me getting the info I needed to take back (that day!) to the DMV was courteous, friendly, smiling, and professional! All in all a much happier, nicer, experience than at the dmv ;)

Waited a LONG time on the phone before it was answered. When I asked my question, the person I spoke with just said,I don't knowand didn't offer any further help. I asked if she could connect me with someone who might know. After another 20 minute wait, she came back on the line and said the supervisor was not at her desk. I then asked her if ANYONE was available and she said no and suggested that I call another number. Of course, she didn't know the number, but she said,I think there's some number you can call for help.At this point I gave up and called my congressman's office.

As with all government offices, your experience will depend upon the individual person you speak with. Many employees have been abused by angry people for so long that they've become jaded and burnt out. Some are as angry atthe systemas the general public. One employee, after I said,Ah, yes, I think I recognize your name,(as I'd spoken with him previously) YELLED at me over the phoneOh No, Don't You Start That, Just Don't Try, No, Don't, Just Don't...:-? And the next time I called I spoke with possibly the Most Helpful SSA employee I've EVER dealt with. So, as the saying goes, your mileage may vary. Try to remember the employees, whether naughty or nice, are only human.

People are helpful when they can. Just be careful how you treat the workers there. Just be kind, I know they make you wait a little longer then normal but be nice to the works too..

Iu2019ve not dealt with such rude people as I have there. I practice random acts of kindness every day. I was kindly spelling out my name due to the fact the pronunciation is totally different. Kim The person rudely interrupted me and said you donu2019t need to spell out anything for me . I was simply being kind

Representative Josh was awesome. He was highly knowledgeable and was interested in my situation. Only thing, there needs to be a Dropbox on the outside extended to the inside for people who just need to drop off docs. The security officer stinks. He speaks to you in a derogatory way.
