    To those who care about the citizennI checked Google to see the working hours for the social security department of temple tx and itu2019s appears to be open for normal hours , and when I arrived at the building I came from Killeen driving 30-minute it became clear to me that they are only available through appointments. After I spoked to the security the confirm it itu2019s by appointment only or over the phone, when I call the number after an hour and 18 minutes finally they answer my call but they didnu2019t help me much than I hanged up.nNow My question here is why through appointments? Why don't you open to the public as before? Is your safety of Covid-19u2019s more valuable than ours? If this is the right way from your point of view, why are we working and analyzing the risk every day while you are not?

    You can call a caseworker all day- they wonu2019t answer; call the main line- still NO help. I canu2019t make an appointment for an in person visit if I canu2019t get through. 3 weeks. And I only got a returned call one day out of the 3 weeks of calling- and yeah- the rep called twice, but it was within a minute. She never called again like her voicemail said she would. Frustrated is too mild a word. Livid doesnu2019t touch the level of frustration, either. Just a litany of swear words!!!!!!

    I've been trying to book an appointment here for a month. Literally calling the number listed here AND the number on the door at location. Called multiple times and have been put on hold for hours each time until I've given up. The longest I've waited on hold so far is 5 hours. I've never had anyone answer my call. I was so frustrated that I went to the location just to see a real person and make an appointment. Wasn't allowed in the building because I had to have an appointment. Like just let me talk to a real person since you wont pick up your phone! Is anyone having any success making appointments? If so please reply to this. I just need a damn appointment and it won't let me do the service online and I don't want to send in my original documents in the mail.

    Make sure to call or write to the main office in Austin to let them know about any issues. Like if they treat you ugly like they did me. That way after so many people complain they will do something about this. Always write down day and time and what was talked about keep good records and know where you put this information. .

    Waiting on my newborns SSC. It's been over 9 weeks. I called the number provided by the hospital. I went through the prompts, then got hung up on. I did this twice, same thing both times. Google Temple SS Office. Called the number listed. Iwas connected to the national number. They could not help me and stated I needed to call my local office and gave me the same number the hospital did. Called again, this time I connected with the computer system. Was bur on hold for 30 minutes just to have an automated message tell me all representatives are busy and got hung up on again. Terrible.

    I have been trying to get my last name changed for 7 months. I have never been able to get anyone on the phone to schedule an appointment. I got married 7 months ago and canu2019t even take my husbands name because no one in this office knows how to pick up a phone. I refuse to mail my important documents to them because things get lost in the mail all the time and I would have to go through them to get the documents replaced!

    Called in December and got an appointment after being on hold for an hour. Appointment was supposed to be today but I never received the confirmation which means security wonu2019t let me in the building. Previously mailed in my paperwork and was told in October that my paperwork was never even put into the system and I was lucky I received the paperwork back.     PLEASE READ*******nThis is the absolute worst place you can go to, Iu2019ve sent my SSC application in November 2021 and they said that I would have my SSC in 2-4 weeks. ITS JANUARY OF 2022, and I still donu2019t have my card. When I tried to call them, the number that they have leads to the international SSA line. When I got Temples SSA line, I was on hold for 30 mins with the computer. After those 30 mins passed it went straight to ringing but no one picked up. The ringing kept going for an extra 20 mins. I ADVISE YOU TO GO TO ANOTHER OFFICE. THIS OFFICE IS NOT ORGANIZED WHEN IT COMES TO CUSTOMER SERVICE.

    Our Government is crumbling and this TAX PAYER FUNDED SERVICE is a frightening example. The world has gone back to normal after the little covid flu, but not our local government services.. Phone calls only!?!?!?! And by phone call they mean just call and pray you're answered.. What a joke. Got offered a job today, but am not able to get a replacement SSC for them.. What a shame!!!

    Lady that answers the phone acts as if she is offended that she had to pause her self loathing to answer the phone. I think she needs some counseling so that her demeanor doesnu2019t reflect the amount of self hate she has flowing through her veins. She canu2019t answer simple questions about getting a card and speaks to you like you share her same amount of brain cells. It would be easier to attempt to get any answers from a faulty automated system or even Alexa.

    I went to the office due to the fact that automated voice system automatically hung up on me multiple times. When I arrived to the office there was a line and less than stellar security officer who rudely directed us to another phone number that had background music but no representative, which all of us then proceeded to show the officer. He did it himself and the same thing occurred and he left us with u201c I donu2019t know what to tell you, keep calling.u201d So there is no actual way to set up an appointment, as there is no one working the phones.     The lady I spoke to one morning expressed her joy in being able to work from home and draw a paycheck. I found this hard to swallow as I was applying for widow benefits and had no income coming in- I was also told that there was a long waiting list fir phone appointments. When my appointment time came- 8 months after the death of my spouse- I was told I would not receive an answer for 6-9 months. Wow. I am with family and no longer have a home of my own.

    They used to have the direct number to call this office but it's been changed, When you call this office no one answers, you get hung up on. Had an appointment and they were supposed to call, they called 2 hours later than my set time and now I have to reschedule it which I can't because they changed the number. I have sent in paperwork months ago all for it to not be processed and having to wait months again to see if they will finally do their jobs and process back pay.     MY INTERACTIONS WITH THE SSA ARE THE MOST UNORGANIZED, UNPRODUCTIVE, UNRELIABLE AND UNPROFESSIONAL GOVERNMENT ORGANIZATIONS I HAVE EVER CAME ACROSS. I WAS APPROVED FOR SSDI TWO MONTHS AGO. SSA SENT ME MY FIRST CHECK THAT IS THE WRONG AMOUNT. THEY HAVE ME LISTED TO RECEIVING ASSISTANCE MONETARILY FROM ANOTHER DEPARTMENT EVEN THOUGH I WASNT AND NEVER HAVE. I HAVE BEEN WAITING GOING ON TWO MONTHS NOW TO GET THE MISTAKE THAT SSA MADE IN THE FIRST PLACE CORRECTED. IN THE MEAN TIME ALL THE MEDICAL TESTS THAT I NEED TO IMPROVE MY HEALTH HAD TO BE CANCELLED BECAUSE I DIDNT HAVE THE OUT OF POCKET MONEY TO PAY BEFORE HAVING THESE TESTS.
