I was dreading going here after reading a lot of the other reviews but my experience today was a positive one. I was happy to see they are still taking covid seriously and making people wear masks inside and enforcing social distancing. They were only letting 14 people at a time inside so I recommend getting there early if you can so you don't have to stand outside until there is room inside. The security people on hand were very friendly and helpful, and the social security clerk that I dealt with was extremely pleasant.

I got here at 9:00am, checked in at the kiosk at 9:05, was called to window 7 at 9:55 and was out by 10am. In all everything took about an hour.nnThe process to change my SS card to my marriage name was throughly discussed and easy to understand by the employee.nnThey adhere to covid restrictions and supplied everyone with a mask if they didnu2019t have one. The security officers were also helpful in directing others on what to do at the kiosk. Very clean place as well.

Called 3/1 to obtain an appt so that my mother could get my deceased fathers SS. They said they would send a letter with a time. Forward to 4/4 nothing is on their calendar yet and was asked to call on 4/5 to see if I could get a hold of a manager and maybe get my mom on the schedule. Called on 4/5 and got through but as soon as I let them know what I needed the call gotdroppedtwice. Now on 4/6 one call wasdroppedas soon as I let them know what I needed. Called again and ask to please not hang up and I let this person know what I needed and this time they needed my mom present when all the other times I didn't need her with me. I just need a freaking appt to help my mom get my dads benefits. Word to the wise once you have a parent pass please call SSA ASAP and don't give up. And I had the same problem with the national number for SSA.

I have been dealing with these people since December. My late husband and I have three young children and Iu2019m trying to survive with his sudden death. I canu2019t look the progress up online because the benefits are for minors. I sit everyday for 45 minutes on hold then it drops my call. I finally get ahold of someone and they wonu2019t let me talk to my case worker and says she needs to verify my income and sheu2019ll send me a letter (I wonu2019t get that for a week). I asked can I just find out what she needs, pay check stub, W-2 from last year? u201cSheu2019ll send you a letter.u201d u201cI heard that but thatu2019s going to prolong this process. Yu2019all have a bad system here.u201d u201cAnd do I have control of that? Why are you taking that out on me?u201d u201cYour part of the system because you work there.u201d He then kept getting more and more rude. I asked for a supervisor and of course no answer. Have some sympathy man.

The employees are so rude. The wait times are long which is understandable with the amount of people probably trying to contact them, but I had contacted them and talked to a man, I asked him to repeat something twice times because I was having a hard time hearing him and he hung up on me because he didn't want to repeat himself. I have spoken with several other SSI offices and have never been treated that way. I agree with the person below this review, I would rank this office a 0 if that was possible.

wow! I called to get help with my daughter's torn ss card. I didnt know how to file for a replacement card. I sure hope you people DO NOT NEED ASSISTANCE. These employee's should seek new employment if they are unhappy. I would hate for my elderly folks to have to mess with these employees!

I've been trying since October of last year to get a new ssc since my name has been changed so I can get my ID. Submitting an application over three times threw the mail, and haven't seen or heard from anyone at the office. I've called countless times to see what's going on, yet they take forever to answer, and when I finally get someone it's a person who doesn't understand me. Not only that they lost all my documents I've send them, my important documents and told me to try again. They get frustrated at me cause I keep asking them the same questions they won't answer. So frustrated.

Rude employees and super long wait times on the phone just to make an appointment you get hung up on constantly by this automated system. This has to be the worst office I've ever been in contact with.Close this office down or have the employees do their jobs this is a waste of time. I wouldn't even give them 1 star I accomplished nothing.if you schedule an appointment they are not going to tell you it's a phone appointment so I'm telling you they make absolutely no sense.

I have been calling since 12/27/2021 to get an appointment for getting a new SSN, as I started working for Texas tech university!! they answered once on 27/1/2022 and told me they will call me back to give me an appointment and I haven't heard from them yet!!!! I call them daily and kept on line for 30-45 minutes and then no one pick up and they just hang out on me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Havenu2019t been to the office yet. Pretty sure my question could be answered with a call. Why donu2019t they have the local office number listed?

I called to see if I could make an appointment to get a replacement card for my 4 yr old. A guy answered and I stated what I needed. He said we don't make appointments for that. I asked what do you make appts for? He said not that. I asked how I could go about doing what I needed. He said online or by mail. I asked is needed to send in. He said ID of parent, ID of child, and application. I asked what form of ID since I will be without my DL and I need it obviously for driving. Quiet. I said hello, he said I am here. I asked what other forms since he didn't answer me . I said I did. I then had to ask again what forms? I cannot believe they have these kinds of people working for a government office. They are so unwilling to help and so rude. I wouldn'g even give 1 start but I have to, to be able to post this. I will be filing a complaint. I have been trying to get ahold of someone for 8 months now & have not been able to reach a single person. i call everyday & wait & wait & wait just for their end to hang up the phone.

First time I called was on hold and when someone answered they immediately hung up second time I called at 3:36pm 03/21/22 when they answered they said nothing and was put on hold itu2019s been 25 minutes on hold

They REFUSE to answer the phone and, when the actually manage to pick up the phone, you get hung up on. Why do these people get paid with our taxes? They require you to schedule an appointment, but when I try to call and schedule an appointment (since you donu2019t have an online appointment maker) they donu2019t pick up the phone. Iu2019ve tried calling on six separate occasions and have been hung up on four times with over a 20 minute hold each time. Worthless.
    Gabrielle Plata
You are going to wait several hours for them to answer the call, just to say they don't make in person appointments and it takes two months for them to call you for a phone appointment.
    Sabrina Kay Bustos
They MAKE IT SOOOO DIFFICULT FOR PEOPLE TO DO SOMETHING AS SIMPLE AS A REPLACE social security card!!! They don't stay on the phone long enough for anyone to make appointment!!!
    Infernal Misanthropy
They keep hanging up when I call.nThey won't let people go in without an appointment.nI went for an appointment and was told I would receive my SS card within 4 weeks.nIt's been 10 weeks and still no help.nAwful

Told byValeriethesupervisorthat I could not speak to anyone in charge of her because she was being EXTREMELY RUDE AND UNHELPFUL! If you're a supervisor then why is your staff so inconsistent? I have been told by multiple workers multiples answers and I can't get anything straight and then I get HUNG UP ON when questioning why I'm getting told multiple things. Seems like you're a fantastic supervisor. GET HELP ANYWHERE ELSE!
    Samantha Moctezuma
Got hung up on twice! Very rude employees! With no help at all! Whatu2019s the point of having a social security office here if no one is willing to help and just hangs up people who are needing answers!!

Husband of 41 years died. I tried calling this place to report his death. Never could get through. Either I held for 15 minutes and then was hung up on, or didn't even get to hold. The machine just said sorry, call back some other time. The website says you can't file for survivor's benefits and must go into the office. It also gives a list of what to bring. Nowhere does it say you have to have an appointment. I went in, sat and waited for an hour and 50 minutes. Then the woman told me I had to have an appointment but there were none available, so they would schedule one and send me a letter. I had driven 30 miles for this complete waste of time. I'm lucky that I'm not broke. What are widows who have no money supposed to do? Wait until this office gets good and ready to help you and hope you don't starve or get evicted, or go begging? This is a shining example of the current administration's treatment of citizens who've paid into this system all their lives and now need their rightful benefits.

I've called to get the information about what I need for my child's replacement social security card. Sent all information and a month later I received a letter stating not enough information to establish identity for the child. I called to see why and was told they didn't know the reason because all information I sent was correct. I was referred to the caseworker who handled the case but no answer. I've called everyday since and still no answer.

I am so disappointed with our social security system. My husband passed away at age 57. We've been married for 36 years. He passed away from colon cancer and liver cancer. We had been to the ER for the last several years because he was complaining about his stomach. By the time they figured out what was wrong with him and we got the actual diagnosis. I went to Social Security office to see about getting him on Social Security disability. I was told the same thing as others have been told they have appointments backed up and it would be at least five months. Thankfully I have insurance through work which covered the bulk of our appointments and hospital stays. But still out of pocket office visit, specialist , hospital stays and medication had taken a toll on our savings. So they suggested I go online and fill out paperwork. Now mind you I had told them he was terminal and it would result in death at the Social Security office and they still told me to go online it would be faster. So I did. And throughout the application when I got to the part that said will it result in death, I marked yes, and it said as soon as you finish this application call your local Social Security office. Only then did they give me in touch with the lady to get Social Security disability. But they told me also I had to wait another five months before I could draw anything. I don't understand why all of our lives we pay into Social Security and then when we need it they put us on hold and it takes forever. Needless to say my husband passed away in July and we never received anything from Social Security. I am so disappointed in our system. Now I get to go through trying to draw Social Security off of my husband, and so the next nightmare begins. Seems like immigrants come over to our country and get things handed to them. And people who were born and raised in America have to fight to get what they deserve.

Have called several times and was hung up on. The last time I called I waited 27 minutes and no one answered the phone. Very unprofessional!

Holli has made the process for my daughters disability go so smooth and easy! Im so thankful she was our case manager. She treated me with kindness and like an actual human being. I canu2019t say enough great things about her. If everyone was as kind as she is I donu2019t think there would be any complaints!

The address is incorrect on Google so I sent my marriage license to the wrong address. They are no help at all, especially during this pandemic. Now I'm having to track down my marriage license and still have made no progress on getting my name changed.

This review is for Valerie! A ray of helpful sunshine in this office. After three confusing and rude conversation with other employees we FINALLY got ahold of Valerie who was incredibly kind and helpful. Thank you so much for your help and clarification during the confusing times Covid is presenting! You rock!

Phone: The representatives in the office knows you're holding waiting to speak to someone. Instead of them answering the call when the phone rings they place you back on hold. I'm currently waiting now for 20mins. The phone would ring once or twice and a couple of times rang ENTIRELY... all they do is keep placing you on hold. If these people don't like their job they ought to quit. This is a huge disappointment for me because it's my first time calling the Social Security Office. I urge that corporate get involved. Please remove these lazy people who refuse to even acknowledge the caller on the phone. I called them at 11:30am it's now 11:52am e office closes at 12pm. I just heard a recording saying no representative can help me and the call was dropped. It is a very time consuming process for me to be waiting this long when I know there are people that can acknowledge me on the line. A simplethank you for calling please hold, I'll be with you shortlywould suffice. I'm extremely disappointed their system.
