I called the 1-800 number to ask about gety a replacement. They emailed me the application and told me the documents I needed to have. I called the Longview office to make an appointment, they were able to get me in fairly quickly. They reminded me of the documents I need to have. We arrived an hour early to my appointment and was seen about 10 minutes after arriving. They don't see you unless you have an appointment because of COVID. When we arrived we were met by a guard. He asked if we had an appointment. We signed in and were seated to wait. Our number was called and we were able to be in and out in less than an hour. The guy that submitted our applications was helpful and nice and made the process easy.

I waited on hold for 30 minutes to speak to a case worker and Angela is the one who picked up. She was very unprofessional and rude to me and my disabled mother. I asked to speak with her boss and she just hung up on me! Angela if you donu2019t like your job find a new one.

Iu2019ve been trying to get my kids SS card, itu2019s been a chore. All he wants is to drive, and he canu2019t because we couldnu2019t get his SS card. For a few reasons one being COVID-19 having the office shut down. Iu2019ve called this office before and the help wasnu2019t good at all. Today 10-20-21 I called and spoke to Mrs Daniels and she was the best. Very helpful, knowledgeable and professional. Mrs. Daniels made this easy today. Thatu2019s why I gave this place 5 stars, due to one persons performance.

Local office has been closed for a very long time. Online submissions are ignored or otherwise never any response. Took about 9 months to finally speak with a real person on the phone after a friend that was a social worker for 30 years made a few calls and got them to call me.

One of the worst gov offices. Typical for the Longview area. Rudest people ever starting with the security guard who really needs to go elsewhere. He seems to set the tone for the whole office. There is no need for his superior and condescending attitude. He makes it seem like your visiting someone in prison.

Sent in application with id and shot record for daughters first social security card and received a letter back stating they were working on processing the application. When i called in weeks later to get an update every rep except one was extremely rude and they could not find my application at all and asked me to resend even though it is obvious they received as they responded by mail to me saying it was being processed and u201creturned id documents in the meantime. Someone needs to hold the workers accountable. Itu2019s unreal how long the process has taken and to have nothing accomplished at the end of the day. It is obvious my application is there somewhere (mail correspondence said so), the workers are just lazy and donu2019t want to find it. Unbelievable.nnOn a side note one rep randomly gave me her social over the phone. This baffled me when he did this as no other representative did on past calls(i spoke to many and they said they could not do this even though i desperately needed to file taxes on time). Again, extremely frustrating mixed messages and something needs to be done for the public.nnThis is the email I received back. After calling to speak to a supervisor she kept trying to blame it on me saying the application was denied because i didnu2019t include a birth certificate but she could not locate any documents/application saying it was denied so she was basing this purely on conjecture. She explained that since my daughter didnu2019t have a social number yet they need the birth certificate but the previous rep gave me her number so this is obviously not true. The supervisor was obviously trying to get me off the phone and get me to send in the application again rather than looking for it. Eventually the supervisor conceded that in fact i did not have to send in a birth certificate as my daughter already had a social number. Once again, absolutely ridiculous. Quick to try and blame problems on public. Email reads as follows.nnGood afternoon,nnWe unfortunately were not able to locate the application after searching through the paperwork. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. Please send the SS-5 application to us, along with original ID for you in the form of an original, unexpired, driveru2019s license, passport, or certified medical record stamped and signed by the medical office, and a certified immunization record stamped and signed for Stella. Again, we apologize for the inconvenience.

I had an appointment with Ms. Grimes this morning for SSI for my 7 year old Son due to an eye disability. I applied MULTIPLE times, and they kept denying him. FINALLY, he was approved. During the appointment this morning, I was trying to ask questions regarding how this would work, and what it is he all qualifies for, so that I could understand it all, clearly. I have Never done this before, so I was curious. She was beyond RUDE! Every time I tried to ask a question, she would make a rude comment about how I was just trying to drag out the appointment, and was gonna make her late for her 8 others. I understand that she had a lot to do, but she could've answered them a little nicer than she did! I am NOT pleased with how she handled my questions. However, I am thankful they FINALLY approved my son; who has had an eye disability since birth!

Mr Mosby at the Longview office was the biggest help for me when I had a overpayment issue with my social security. He was able to fix the problem professionally and quick . He was very kind and clear with explanations. He took time the following day to let me know that the overpayment was took care of . Thank you so much Mr. Mosby.

Terrible experience, the lady named Katie had called me for a phone appointment and I missed the call. I called back 2 to 3 times and the phone call dropped because I was leaving work. She called me back in upon me answering she was not only terribly rude but told me that if I wanted to deal with the Social Security office I u201c needed to pick up the phone call because they only had a 10 minute window for them to help me and we were already way past the appointment timeu201d. I totally understand being busy but the way this woman spoke to me was truly offensive and I believe she was the same woman I had spoken to prior who again was terribly offensive. I truly hope it is the same woman because if there are multiple people at that office that are as God awful as the lady I spoke to I will never ever go there again.

They are so rude at the longview,tx branch! Everyone I have spoken to has been so rude andbotheredby DOING THEIR JOB. They are no help whatsoever. We can't go into the office due to the pandemic, so we HAVE to do our business over the phone. It seems like I'm not the only one, seeing all the other reviews. Something should be done with their attitudes. It's ridiculous

In person is by appointment only. They keep picking up and hanging up the call. The security officer stationed on site was rude, disrespectful, aggressive, and unprofessional when approached about the calls being disconnected. I had to de-escalate the situation by asking him to calm down. To which he scoffed and slammed the door.

Phone and online service is the best. Fast, efficient and useful. No reason to be open and sit in a waiting room with the skurge of humanity when you can hande it remotely!

Today 1/15/2021, I experienced the worst customer service ever. It is appalling to witness an employee from Social Security from the Longview Branch(Javier) treat customers the way he did to me. I trust that is not the way that Social Security does business and that you will mention my concern to Javier from the Longview Branch. He actually need some coaching because, he doesnu2019t know how to answer a phone, bad communicator, doesnu2019t let customers speak, and his job performance in general is the worst. I was both shock and disappointed to have been treated in this way and believe you should be made aware of your employeeu2019s actions. Thank you!

This facility houses some of the most rude individuals I have ever encountered. It is absolutely ridiculous that some of them are unable to speak to anyone on the phone without decency especially when the rudeness is not given by the caller. This is a tough period of time for all, and it is certainly not made any better when we are greeted with absolutely disgusting behavior.

Everyone was very helpful and polite at this office. I went around noon on a Tuesday and the line was not very long. I believe total time that I was at this office was 25 minutes and I was applying to get my sons first social security card. I wish I had gotten the peoples names that helped me because they were all very nice and enjoyable to talk to while we got the paperwork done.

Been here plenty of times, but today lady sitting in cubicle #9 was rude as hell!! Not only was she talking to another employee about lunch.....but she didnu2019t even bother to help or when I told her had missed an appointment and presented myself today to get the proper work in. She just stated she had no one to speak to me and she had other people waiting, so I got up and left.....

It is primarily people that dont want to work, don't stand for ethics and really don't care about anything but there pay day. To heck with the people they put out. They got their money, their, rent paid, their health insurance. Oh yea we helped pay all that when we worked.
    Nicy Nicy
They really don't want to help the poor people, barely leaving them with any money to eat or pay their bills, God will handle those who discriminate against the poor people! He will take from the rich and give to the poor! What good is appeal! what good is a waiver! When you want win exspecially when it's not your fault it's theirs! Prayer is the answer!!!!
    Myranda Murphy
I absolutely HATE this place....you can send in all information that is needed and they still don't do there job....I have called everyday for the past 3 days and nobody knows anything....just sorry and unprofessional...im going to make my review to the BBB as well!

Very bad customer service. People seem like they are miserable and ready to quit. At least with my case , it seemed like they are very unhappy with the job.nPeople need to be grateful for the job and not give bad attitude to customers
    Susan Schalik
The people at this office are friendly and helpful and I definitely appreciate the hand up with my monthly checks and more importantly my medical, without SS I would not be able to do the things I am doing now to put myself into an indendent lifestyle. I can not wait to tell them that I do not need there help anymore! Thank you for being curtious without judgement!

Horrible experience although I know you must wait which I have no problem doing bt the SOME of the staff are not helpful at all and instead of telling you exactly what you NEED they just tell you you don't have the right IDs and send you on your way since they are busy and when you ask what you need get Attitude and tell you nonsense I made 3 trips and each time I wait either 1hr or more
