I am posting this review because there are a lot of negative comments about this place. Firstly, I had a totally different experience about calling their office to book an appointment. I had to wait a bit but I did get a good response on call and they gave me an appointment for a week later. On the day of appointment, everything went smoothly. They check your credentials before you enter the office to ensure that you have a valid appointment for that day and time. They are following all covid safety protocols. The officer who worked on my application was extremely polite and helpful. The whole process took only 20 minutes as we had two applications.

I went to this office on a Friday morning to change my name after getting married, and I was pleasantly surprised by how quick and efficient the process was. I arrived just before 8 (they open at 9), and there were already 10 or so people ahead of me. However, around 8:45, lines were organized (one for SS cards and one for everything else) and tickets were distributed with our place in line. When they opened the doors, everyone in front of me was immediately seen, and I was seen shortly thereafter. I was on my way home by 9:20! Just want to give a shoutout to this location for running things so efficiently!

Excellent service no complains here! Dropbox is the only thing that is open from 9AM-4PM. You will find a security guard around this hours. I struggled to find this u201cDropboxu201d, itu2019s located inside the building pass the sliding doors to your right side. I wish they told me this over the phone instead had to figure it out. Documents must be in a seal envelope. Took roughly 2 weeks and some days to get documents mailed back. Very pleased. Thank you to all the staff that works here!

I was so happy that the SSA offices re-opened because I did not want to mail in the documents for my name change. I called the location to verify the documents needed and it took about 45 minutes to get a live representative, but he was extremely courteous once he answered the phone.nnTwo days ago, I went to the location (without an appointment) around 3 p.m. and I was out by 3:25 p.m. Everything went smoothly. An officer would ask you for the purpose of visit and then give you a form to complete. Upon completion, you will be given a number. Listen for the announcer to call your number and go to the window # they announce. Masks are required. Everyone was courteous; I had a good experience as a first timer at this location.

So glad the office is now opened to serve people face to face, like me, an old man: not computer savvy & unable to get people on the phone to get things done right. The wait is worth it. Though I have to come back to bring a document, I don't mind. Hopefully, when I go there tomorrow, my situation w Medicare will be resolved. Thank you to John, in section A. Appreciate u.

The woman at the front who attended me was very helpful and attentive.nThe person who attended me over the phone gave me wrong information and was dismissive. Now I have to return after waiting for so long and come back. When you are on the phone speaking to the rep, ask as many questions for clarification, regardless of how much in a rush they appear to not help.

An absolute disaster of an operation. Correct documentation returned multiple times. Several week processing and mailing delays only to have an application denied. When we finally get through on the phone, they assured us that all the documents we sent would suffice, only to have the application denied again. Extremely rude customer service on the phone - cut me off, didnu2019t answer questions, and ultimately hung up on me because they didnu2019t have answers to my questions.

I called this office at 9:29am today to schedule in person appointment , and I was on hold for 21 minutes. They guy picked up & after hearing me to set appointment; he simply said u201c I canu2019t hear you , call us backu201d. WOW thatu2019s really bad to hear from a governmentu2019s office. Iu2019m very disappointed.

So listen, I'm so proud to rate this place. I currently live in Texarkana and called my local SSO just to be put on hold several times and hung up on. Tried the 1800 number and was on there waiting several hours. So I decided to call other Texas offices. I called Lufkin, Conroe, and a few others then called Dallas and Praise God I got an answer within minutes with yall. Yall very well deserve these 5 stars. Keep up the great work!!!!

My first call was dropped after being on hold for 3 hours! The next call I was on hold for 6.5 hours before someone answered! This is the sorriest Social Security Administration that I have ever dealt with! I donu2019t know why we must deal with these unprofessional workers!!! Sitting at home just letting the calls pile up in the cues! Evidently Social Security HR arenu2019t monitoring them carefully, because thereu2019s no way this kind of poor customer service would be happening!!!!!

AT times it's as if the phone gets hang up ounce it gets through someone. For an important federal office such as this, the employees and their supervisors can do better! Really terrible not to have answers to matters in a sensitive time like this one!

I need help! PLEASE ANSWER THE PHONE OR RETURN A MESSAGE!!!nnThis should not be so darn difficult! All tolled, Iu2019ve sat on the phone at least 15 hours, trying to simply TALK TO A LIVE PERSON at the North Dallas Office. Eventually their phone system says, u201cAll agents are busy, try again later,u201d and drops the line.nnI did get a hold of someone on the national customer service side; they could not help, my two issues heed to be handled by 5he North Dallas Office. But she did give me the name and extension of u201cthe agent assigned to my file.u201d I have now left him three polite messages, and sent a fax; still no reply.

Terrible place. They gave no concern to my problem and incorrectly processed my paperwork costing me time I couldnu2019t afford to lose. I canu2019t believe a business as important as this is run so unprofessionally and without concern for customer satisfaction. Equally annoying that we literally have no choice but to do business with them.

Went in for a replacement SS card for my son, we were in and out in less than 30 minutes. Electronic check in was quick and easy. Thankful for a separate waiting area, less crowded! I still would recommend using the MySocialSecurity feature on their website if you donu2019t want to wait in the office!

Called 3 time each time on hold over 30 mints then drop the callnI called the office twice this morning, initially I was put on hold and waited for about 15 to 20 minutes only for someone to pick up the phone and hang up the call which led me to call back. This Time after being on hold much longer The automated system finally chimed in saying that white times are longer than usual and that I should call back and try again later and the automated operator ended the call itself.

I have called four times and I hold for up to 30 plus minutes. The phone eventually rings and then it acts like it someone on the phone no one says anything, or it just keeps rigning.. i been doing this for about 2 hours..

Got there at 8:50 and there was a huge line. It went relatively (?) fast inside and got out by 9:45. The officer standing outside was very rude (pretending not to understand some people who had heavy accents and laughing at them) but the office people in the inside of the building were very nice.

Had a great experience at this social security office today. Had to update my record and was done in less than 15 mins. The lady at window 'M' was super nice and helpful and probably took about a minute to do the update and confirm.nI only wish there were better directions to navigate the office though and while it took me a few mins to figure out, if you plan to visit, below pointers might be helpful:nWhen you enter, there are couple of kiosks in the front, enter your info and get the ticket. There are two halls. If you need a replacement card or have any other card related issue, go to the hall on the right (Also for card related issues, if you don't already have form SS-5 filled out, you will find forms in that hall). For any non card related issues, stay in the main hall and you will be called to one of the windows there. A display screen shows the tickets numbers being served at any point (see attached picture) but does not show the window number, so you have to be attentive to your ticket number being called along with directions on which window number you have to go to. Windows number up to H are in the main hall and I-P are in the hall on the right (the SSA card hall).

Definitely not the pinnacle of customer service. After waiting on the line listening to the automated voice tell me that in-person appointments were available, the representative said that was a lie that they didn't do any in-person appearances.nThis was also after I originally mailed the correct doccuments, that they misspelled, (they claim it was a typo) forcing me to complete this process again.nNot to mention they did not mail back all my original documents back that I had sent in the first place.

I needed to change my name after getting married and sent my passport, and marriage license in along with the name change form. Both my passport and marriage license were returned to me in 2.5 weeks! I also called the office twice and both people I spoke to were helpful.

Wait time was only about 20 minutes at 9am. It can be much longer later in the day, so get here early if you can. Processing time was about 5 mins once I got to the window, which was great!
