I have been to this office several times now and have yet to have a good experience here. I have dealt with the same security officer each time and each time it's the same whether he is dealing directly with me or when I see him dealing with any other person there. He is always rude and appears to be easily annoyed by even the simplest question. The security officer there seems to get easily aggravated even when someone is asking him very respectfully a legitimate question that they need an answer to so they can know how to move forward. There is no warmness when warmness is needed. He should use his tone, rudeness, and sternness when someone is giving him trouble; yet it appears as though he believes all people there are giving him trouble when it's obvious that they are not. I also was assisted by a lady at a window today and she appeared to not want to help me or answer my questions without me pushing for her to look more. When I explain things to her I got a lot of rudeness and a lot of shoulder shrugs that made me feel as though she was trying to say that my concerns were not her problem. When I'm asking for forms she felt as though she can give me her unsolicited advice or opinion and tell me what she thought was going to happen even though her place is not determination of eligibility. People go to this office for assistance and whether the workers there believe the people coming into the office need help or not, it is not their place nor their right nor acceptable to treat human beings who are trying hard to be respectful as though they are an annoyance and trash. Today, as with all my other visits there, I felt as though my presence was an annoyance to them and as though they looked at me as though I was trash.

I needed information on Medicare and was applying for Part B. Mr. Ramirez was so helpful, efficient and professional. He was able to assist me in everything I needed and patiently answered all my questions. I had been trying to contact Area Agency on Aging many times all month for assistance and information and they never returned my calls. You have an excellent person working in your agency. Please thank Mr. Ramirez for me!

I needed help with my social security benefit and received excellent service on the phone. Was on hold for 30 minutes which I thought wasn't too bad considering they are probably very short staffed. Just have to be patient - and kind to whomever picks up.

While the rest of the world is opening back up and removing mask mandates, they are not. They are majorly inconveniencing anyone for NO REASON just to fulfill a simple request that is on a time limit.

Don't bother calling the 800 number listed, because you will be on hold for an hour just to get them to say the number you called isn't for the location. Update your Google information.

Usually have had a pretty decent experience with this government facility but right now October 28th,2021, I am trying to reach them by phone for an important situation, and their phone lines are lousy. The phone calls are getting dropped, longer than usual wait times, and I actually did get through to someone but she put me on hold and she never came back and the phone hung up.

Third call through this week. No chance to talk to a representative. Stayed on phone for 16 minutes today, waiting, and they hang up on me. Really?! That is absolute disrespect to customers! Yes, weu2019re having problems and troubles trying to reach you but you treat us as trash. Iu2019d put minus five stars if it would be possible.

Ridiculous wait times. Was on hold for 3hrs then when someone answered they hung up on me.

There needs to be better communication among staff. I was told the same thing by two people and then was unable to get my new SS card because I didnu2019t have everything. I wasted time and money because you have to send everything in due to the pandemic and I donu2019t trust not having the mail certified and sent a specific way. Not to mention you have to send in an original ID and if you only have your drivers license youu2019re SOL because you would be driving without one for at least 3 weeks. There has to be a better way to do this.

I called and talked to Wendy today. She was very pleasant, knowledgeable, and helpful. People should not blame the representatives for the long delays in the system.

On hold for 2 hours. Had to hang up because they are closing.

This morning Friday, May 3, 2019, my husband and I went to this office. After reading the reviews I must say I was a little concern. We got there early. They opened the doors about 20 minutes early to let people in. We were all very thankful since it was raining. The people were kind and very professional. I can't thank Mrs. B.... enough for taking the time to explain everything to me, answer all my questions, and just making sure I got all the benefits that I was eligible for. She was so nice, had a great smile, and obviously knew her job. Since we got there early the waiting time was about 15 minutes!

We were here for 4 hours and I figured their process which was absolutely incompetent. We got called up already had the s5 form for the replacement. We gave it to them and made us sit back down for 2 hours! They finally call my sons name literally asked for an ID and saythanks here's your receipt. An eight minute processed prolonged for 2 hours! After sitting there for so long; it clicked. These people call your number, make you sit down, try to clear the numbers waiting, and then proceed to calling names. This is such a horrible system. Here's an idea prioritize what circumstances can be fixed within 10 minutes and get them out the way! Also the first lady gave us nothing but attitude. However, I will say the second lady was much more pleasant. PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD FIX YOUR SYSTEM!

Came with my mom because she's hard of hearing. Check in at 930. Been seating here for 4hour already. My mom haven't eaten since this morning. I was told she'll be called next whole hour have gone by and nothing. Can't ask question telling you wait tell your name is called. I wonder when that will be when they close at 4. In 2 1/2 hours from now. It's 1:23 pm now. So sad.

If I could provide less than one star, I would. I have been on hold for over 45 minutes. The questions I have are not available on the website. Being in a pandemic, if you can't come in to the SS office, one would think they would have more operators to field questions. This is so ridiculous.

No one answer the phone after long wait time and multiple calls

Why is it that when you call your home office, they tell you that you need to contact your home office and give you the same number you just dialed. When you tell them that it's the same number, they hang up on you. This is very frustrating when you are dealing with people that obviously don't want or refuse to help you when that's what WE'RE paying them for.

Do not go to this office. They lost my marriage license, DL and passport. They do not answer their phones. The other office told me I had to contact my local congressman. I donu2019t think I will ever get my documents back and will have to pay for duplicates

If I could give less than one star I would. Be prepared to wait at least one hour outside standing. Then another three inside waiting to be called to the back. The longest wait Iu2019ve ever had for any government service! Corpus needs to do better. Ridiculous that they would put this office in a building that could only seat 100. Young or old your standing outside!

Wow...no one likes going to this office. There will be a wait and itu2019s frustrating if you end up not having your paperwork. I understand there are rules but after I was told I needed to know my sonu2019s number to get a replacement card (I donu2019t have it memorized, sorry) I left because he said it would be on our income tax return. When I got to my vehicle I remembered it was on turbo tax!! Completely blew my mind not to look there. I went to go back in and the guard locked me out!! He said once you leave the doors lock. I told him I just found my sonu2019s number on turbo tax. That was, after all, all I needed. But it was on my phone. He said, no, they need paperwork. ....umm I just needed to know the number. How inadequate is your guard staff??

The line was all the way out the door. I just needed a replacement card. The website is unable to process this request. I am not surprised. It is similar to going to the dps office for driver's license. I hope there is a restroom here because I have been here 15min and the line has moved 3 inches backward.
    Angie Lewis-Kidd
Waited 2.5 hours just for a replacement card/name change (online said I had to go in). After that much time I tried to ask where I was in line I was rudely told to just go away and wait. Another person asked to speak to a supervisor and was told NO and that if they didn't want to wait anymore to just leave. I understand these things are slow but I watched TWO employees only help 5 people for an average of 5 min each the ENTIRE time I was there! They are hardly working, taking breaks, and very RUDE. I had to leave. Not looking forward to having to go again. Terrible

Long lines, and 100 person maximum capacity which means if there are already 100 clients inside you must wait outside the front door ( regardless of the weather conditions) theyll call you in if you have an appointment, but more than often if you do not you have to wait outside before you can obtain a number to be called. Ive visited this location several times in the last few months and spent an average of 3-5 hours at each visit. If you or a family member are planning on visiting this location, be prepared to make it an all day adventure ud83dude25. Times of operations are 9 am -4:30pm. M-F

The purpose to go in an on-site social security office is to get the help that one cannot get over the phone or on line. Majority of these people are computer illiterate, canu2019t read, or just have trouble using a self help computer. You get a number to get help, only to give you one-piece of help at a time, they do not take the time to explain what exactly it is that you need to do. If you have another question you have to stand in line again or rely on other clients having the same issues to help you... social security workers here are not helpful at all, the only thing they are helpful at doing is clearing the line and making others even more confused and frustrated, making you spend hours not getting anything accomplished and having you go back another day spending another worthless hours not getting the help you need. This office needs workers who are caring and willing to help their clients that walk in the door accomplish what they came in to do!

You must get here early, take a number and sit patiently and you will be called quickly. However, the staff here is rather gruff and condescending if you ask questions that require deeper investigation. RUDE! This is to remind the staff that we taxpayers pay your wages. If you dont like serving the public, stay behind the scenes, and its our money we're there for. It doesn't belong to the staff!

So we arrived at 1145 and finally after one hour they called my number to be told oh I can't do that I just check you. I don't understand in order to get the number I had to enter my social security number and state the purpose for my visit. Umm sorry I just assumed that was checking in. Waited 2 more hours for a 3 min process. We were finally done by 3pm. This is a broken system. We watched ppl come on way after us go in before us. Was told they had appointments. I went online and never seen the option to schedule an appointment. so frustrating and there is no excuse for such a mess. Giving them one star is over rating it.

Seeing this particular branch only had two star rating, I was trepidatious when I had to call on the Social Security office in Corpus Christi. What I found was an exceptionally friendly and informative security officer who informed me the wait time was around 2 hours and I should be back in 90 minutes, allowing me to get errands done. When I returned, I waited no more than 20 minutes, was served, and left.nnI can only imagine that most of the negative reviews came from people who are frustrated with the byzantine rules the SSA enforces. Yes - I came prepared with the forms I needed and the documentation, easily determined online, in hand. Do a bit of preparation and research online and I would imagine your experience, like mine, will be relatively smooth.

Poor customer service! All calls are forwarded to a national 800 number for assistance (every day from open to close). All I want to do is set an appointment to come in so I don't have to wait 4 hours to ask to set an appointment. From everything I've seen and heard it seems that the upper management needs to be relieved of duties due to negligence, misconduct, failure to provide adequate customer service, and failure to perform duties as required!!

Very inefficient. Was instructed to file online because they couldn't schedule me for 2 months. After online filing I got a response asking for original birth cert and marriage cert. I could mail them or take them to ss office which I did. Sat for an hour and the guy looked at my letter, my original documents and told me to wait till my name was called. Sat for another hour and asked why so long. He said I was on the board and ten minutes later a lady called me to say they didn't need the documents because they could verify my info online. So why didn't the 1st guy tell me that?? Why did they make me wait over an hour?nA most inefficient office ever.nDrove 76 miles, wasted over two hours for nothing. Thanks alot.ud83dude20
