I lived in Texas for most of my life growing up and left for several years when I joined the military. I recently moved back and was married in August. I had several issues getting my driver's license updated at the Conroe location. I was met with a system that would not schedule an appointment, due to issues, and rude employees.nnI just went to the social security office to update my wife's name on her card. I was informed they do not allow you to do this simple task as a walk-in. I was also informed that they will not allow you to schedule an appointment for name change. I called the phone number and the associate rudely hung up on me when I requested politely to speak to the manager. They want me to mail important actual documentation that is required, my wife's driver's license, for her to go to work. We are already having a hard enough time work two jobs with the raising inflation.nnAll we ask is that we can get legal documents changed over so we can continue our everyday life. The continued shut down of government entities, that are paid for with our taxes, are a source of stress.

If I could give it no stars, I would. The office is always going to be tough, because it is what it is, however, the security guard is a whole other level of nasty. I watched him bring an elderly woman to tears just moments ago. He requested I leave my original birth certificate and drivers license in their drop box with no other information. My question to him was, u201cHow would they know what I needed?u201d His response u201cHow should I know, learn to read.u201d How is this allowed? How is he not held accountable for his behavior. I get you need tough skin to deal with upset people day in and day out, but it takes nothing to treat people with kindness, not disrespect. He absolutely doesnu2019t deserve a job. I have never been so furious in my life.

Absolutely horrible. I sent documents to them on January 6. I've never received any acknowledgement or communication of any kind. I've called them nearly every day and no one ever answers. I just keep getting recordings and beeps. For example I'm on the phone right now and have been for 1 hour and 40 minutes and I just received an automated message thateveryone is busy, please try back later And then the line disconnected! Outrageous. Not only that this is the second time it has happened to me. I would drive to the Conroe office but their voice recording says they will only see people with appointments. How can you make an appointment if no one answers the phone? This is an outrageous example of government bureaucracy and wasted tax payer dollars. This lack of responsibility is costing me money while at the same time a bunch of government bureaucrats just sitting around doing nothing are collecting paychecks from my taxes.

I have had my fair share of interactions with government entities and I know not to expect a lot in terms of customer service, but the level of rudeness I encountered today at the Conroe SSA office was on another scale. Itu2019s like the lady at window 1 took special pleasure in treating me badly and I was there for my disabled sonu2019s business. Itu2019s interesting that we, the tax payers, provide for jobs and benefits for government workers and we canu2019t even be treated with decency? I went out of my way to be nice and even thanked her at the end, without acknowledgment. Sad

Line was long after reopening from Covid last week but they did a great job of moving people along. People were there working-out the kinks. The gentlemen that helped me was very polite and quick. I felt like writing this since everyone always likes to highlight the bad.

Literally hangs up before you can hear the phone ring. Update just went today and the lady was less than helpful very rude and told me my documentation was incorrect. However I have called the vital statistics office and they stated I had all my proper paperwork in order to receive the new social security card with the name change. I would never go here the officers outside treat you like criminals yelling and screaming. Inside there is no structure or people who know what paperwork is valid or not.

Worst customer service ever. was on hold for 19 minutes after being on hold with main line for 27 just to be told I was rude and hung up on. the lady kept avoiding my questions and re directing/over speaking. As it was I given a number to call the Pasadena office but due to overload was rolled over to the Conroe office where theyHelpbut actually did the opposite. Must be nice hanging up on people knowing they cant report or call you back directly. With covid not one person on the phone or the information online has been the same. Just horrible.

I filled the proper paperwork to continue my disabled son's survivor's benefits. Apparently a date was wrong so they just canceled it, even after I was told everything was right (had to call the national number). They never pick up the phone. I can't even make an appointment. This is horrible. Disabled people depend on those benefits

I started my disability claim in August and canu2019t get thru to speak to anyone at this office. I literally am on hold 45 minutes, then the call gets disconnected. I have called back and on hold again 1 hour 15 minutes and now just kept ringing. I literally set my phone on speaker and let it ring for 20 minutes. Mustu2019ve been hundreds of x and nobody is picking up. Must be playing with there kids on government time. Most of them are working from home. Going to file a complaint not letting this go.

I call and wait for 10 or 15 minutes and get disconnected and I am on my 3rd try and no one is answering. Also have requested an appointment and no one ever calls back to set the appointment. Biden ought to hire more social security agents instead of IRS agents!

Be prepared to wait a long time. To give you an idea on how long you will be here, I got here at 8:30am and there was already a line. I finally got in the lobby at 10:30. I wasn't called till 12pm. I felt bad for all the elderly and parents with babies who had to wait in the hot sun. Staff is doing what they can with all the restrictions they have to follow.

The office is not bad at all but why do they keep people outside in this ud83eudd75 weather been here since 9 and itu2019s just getting hotter and hotter they need to start making appointments instead of having people sit outside in this weather

Iu2019d give no stars I could. The lady I spoke with today was extremely rude. Any time I asked a question she would say that she canu2019t give me any more information which was not a response that even made sense. It was bad enough that I really thought I somehow ended up talking to a scammer. The call ended when I asked for her name. She didnu2019t give me her name. Instead she hung up really quick. After the call ended I tried to call back and kept getting a busy signal. I called a different location and got my questions answered. The Conroe people are just horrible. Donu2019t waste your time calling them.

I changed my entire legal name and need a new ssc. Says they dont take walk ins, so i have to make an appointment. Because the social security administration is living in the stone age, they only accept phone calls to make those appointments. No matter which number i try calling, it wont even ring just immediately hangs up or tells me the numbers not in service and then hangs up. Cannot believe my tax dollars are paying for this.

WORST STAFF to ever speak to! I have been trying to get an appointment for 2 weeks now! after over 25 calls, first man answered the phone and was extremely rude and not helpful. I called over 7 times again, and a lady answered said she would put me on schedule and it never did happen, on my 5th call of the day second week, and I still cannot get on schedule or get anyone to contact me back!!!! absolutely horrible service! TWO WEEKS DOING THIS!

I went to the Conroe office after going to the Aldine Mail Rt. location and standing in the burning sun with my 2 year old for four hours. They were rude, unprofessional and all around just bad. The Conroe office had a bit of a wait but once you got inside it was so clean, quiet and they moved really fast. Mrs. Whitesides helped me and she was so nice, kind and empathetic and most of all PROFESSIONAL. I will always go to this location from now on. Thanks again Mrs. Whitesides, you are really appreciated.

If I could give no stars, I would! This is the third day in a row that I have tried calling. The phone just rings and eventually hangs up. How am I supposed to get my daughter's ss card if no one ever answers and I can't go in person??? Please do better!
    Mommy Who Sacrifice
They don't answer, If they do they hang up, or keep letting the phone ring. Waiting 8 months, and still nothing for my special needs daughter. I did everything I can. They just gave her a payment April 1st.nnNow my son got approved, and they told me call case worker, and I did for months. She never calls back, and she lies. She told me to be awake at 7am to 8am. I did just that, and she never called. I am a mother to 5 special needs children, and I rarely sleep. So I got up just morning, hoping she do the right thing. In yet Mrs. Gusman did not do the right thing. I'm so sick, and tired of this office. My husband works hard, we didn't know our children would be special needs. The Lord gave them to us, and we doing our best to take care of them. I'm so tired from not sleeping last night. Gusman was wrong for this. They don't want to do their job.

Does anyone know how to get them to answer? I have called numerous times over two months, but no one ever answers. I spent 2 hours on hold the other day. Today it automatically hangs up after a period of time. It's like the line is on a loop that no one ever answers. This is completely unacceptable as there is no other way to get in touch with them except phone. Please help if you know how to get in touch with them.

    1. No one answers the phone, I stayed on the line for over an hour.n2. The address online from SSA website is wrong, it takes you to city services which is a mile away from actual SSA office.n3. They will not let you in to speak to someone when the SSA website literally says you have to come in person to update a name changennGET. IT. TOGETHER.

I call and wait for 10 or 15 minutes and get disconnected and I am on my 3rd try holding now for 32 minutes, and no one is answering. Also have requested an appointment and no one ever calls back to set the appointment.nIf this is a reflection of our government at work, its no wonder we are the laughing stock of the world!nOur system is broken!

I first called the social security office in July 2021 and was told that they could not help me prior to September 1, 2021. I called Sept. 1, 2021 and the earliest appointment I could get was Oct. 25, 2021. I had that appointment with Ms. Diaz and provided all requested information the very next day. I heard nothing back and continued to call and leave messages. I finally got transferred to Maria B. on Nov. 29, 2021 who got the ball rolling and told me that they needed a form from TRS. Because of the inefficiency of the Conroe office, I did not meet the TRS deadline which has delayed my benefits until Feb.1. Maria B. knew that I was upset so she would not hang up the phone until after I had so that I could not leave a scathing report on the follow-up survey. Don't believe thecall 3 months before your birthday. The truth is you better call 7 months before your birthday. The information I received was different with every representative I spoke with.

Please take water, umbrellas, and a chair to sit in. I waited 2+ hours in the beaming hot sun holding and umbrella and my ears started ringing and i had to leave. (I've suffered 2 heat strokes, before so I knew I had to leave)
    Faith Pitman
No one answers the phone and the recording is inaccurate. There is zero help anywhere and you canu2019t speak to anyone. Awesome. Where is our money going and do something productive with that building if itu2019s full of useless people.
    Kate Lee
I needed to change my name, and they were incredibly helpful and quick. I sent my documents on a Saturday, received them back the following week via certified mail on Wednesday, and got my new social security card back six days later. I was so surprised with how speedy the service was and how easy it was to get it done via mail. Definitely donu2019t hesitate sending in your important documents, they do a good job in a timely manner.

No one ever answers the phone! I've called 6 times to report an address change and after waiting for hours the line just disconnects!! I'm so frustrated. Why can't you just report the change online like you can for all other government services ud83dude11ud83eudd2c

I wouldn't give no stars my son has been waiting on his benefits since June and his file was lost in the process for determination then after months he finally got approved but he got another worker because his initial worker wasn't with the social security office anymore where he was assigned to Mrs Gusman where she gives you the run around saying she needs income so then I fax income 23 days later she calls and than says that she needs other things when we spoke 23 days prior she told me all she needed which was faxed then her tactic she uses is that my son case was giving to her and that she doesn't need to do his case right away im so fastrated of how they give you run around and then first she says she never received the income and than I remain her as to me speaking to her and her telling me it takes her 15 days to receive a fax and that i sent it out 23 days go and that it's past the 15 days and than she says oh now I see it what games is she playing to make things complicated so she can't issue payment for my child I feel like if you can't handle your job than give your cases to someone who can I reached out twice to her supervisor with no call back still waiting .

I canu2019t believe they are still using covid as an excuse to not take appointments. They make things as difficult as possible. To change you name you need your divers license and marriage certificate and the only way to do that now is to get certified copies of each of those documents or pray they donu2019t lose the originals. When mailing them back to you. These people are useless and are just lazy.

THIS SOCIAL SECURITY OFFICE HAS NO CLUE ON WHO THEY DISRESPECTED AND TREATED AS IF I WAS JUST A NUMBER I GOT ONE LADY WHOM WAS ABLE TO GIVE ME DETAILED INFORMATION ON MY CLAIM AND SHE WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO KNEW HER ABILITIES BUT THIS AFTERNOON I WAS ON HOLD FOR OVER 2 HOURS ONLT TO BE HUNG UP ON LITTERLY ON PURPOSE THE REP REFUSED TO ANSWER MY QUESTIONS AND I GOT NO IBFO THAT I NEEDED BUT BECAUSE SHE OPENED MY HUSBAND AND I RECORD AND THEN AND CLOSED IT WITHIN LESS THSN A MINUTE SHE SAYS TO ME ...SORRY I ALREADY CLOSED THAT FILE CAN NOT ANY FURTHER QUESTIONS THEN HUNG UP IN MY FACE ....THAT IS DISRESPECTFUL ITS AGAINST MY RIGHTS TO BE TREATED LIKE IM NOT IMPORTANT OR LIKE I HAVE NO RIGHT TO KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT MY OWN SOCIAL SECUIRTY RECORD

Would give no stars if I could. I have been trying for 3 days to get through. No one answers the phone just keeps ringing and hangs up after about 20 rings.
