Between the people answering the phones with nasty attitudes and making trying to get a new Social Security Card like pulling teeth if you can avoid this office do so. I called several times and informed them l was in the military and had just gotten married. I provided them the application, my marriage license and certificate (got married in Georgia so you have to provide both) birth certificate, paper driver's license, and got signed medical documentation they asked for (spoke to TWO different representatives who confirmed this) to prove my identity just for me to receive a letter back in the mail today saying I didn't provide documents to prove my identity. WITAF! I'm not going to send then my Driver's license just for them to lose it. As others have echoed they need to open the office because it seems like they are looking for any reason not to help anyone. Again, if you can, go elsewhere.

I hate dealing with this office. Being disabled is bad enough....even worse having to deal with the rude, unhelpful people here. I've filed multiple complaints against them....it doesn't matter. For 8yrs I've been dealing with the same nonsense. Go to hopkinsville. They actually know how to do their jobs!

If they tell you the office is opening, don't believe it. Called last week to be told they were opening March 30th, 2022 for walk-ins. We waited over 30 minutes in the cold for a rather rude guard to tell us we were given wrong info, and management still doesn't know when they are opening. And be aware mailing original documents to them, they won't process them or they shred them.

The 800 number is a Government joke! I was on hold 47 minutes went shopping in a store came back to my phone in the car and stiill the music and repeated recording still going. Sent email message trying to make an appointment never got response...sad and pitiful waste of tax money...

The security guard is super rude and uncaring (is the nicest way I can put it- ive never wanted to slap an old man b4)nYou have to call the office directly to get an appointment to go inside- but it is open. Again, don't waste your time going up there until u get an appointment- unless you enjoy being talked down to when I go back- I'm leaving my headphones in- cause I can't deal with that man child again.

Went in to get a copy of my social security card and they said because I had been adopted and multiple copies had been ordered through my lifetime- I was ineligible to ever get another one or anything with proof of my social security number on it. This is ridiculous

I understand covid is a thing, however you make it so hard to get in contact with anyone and or hang up the phone when you finally get someone on the phone ( over a hour later). It shouldn't be this hard to get your last name changed! Round 5 here we go...

Felt the need to leave a review for Edd after my phone appointment with him. Great, pleasant, very amiable worker. I was nervous calling cause of bad reviews but I guess I got lucky with the person handling my sonu2019s case. If Management at that office sees these reviews, give Edd some round of applause for being a wonderful worker who helped me understand the SSD process and was so nice to talk too!

Just spoke with Bridgette, she was very nice and understanding! The first time I called the SSA the man I talked to was very rude. But Bridgette went above and beyond to tell me what I needed to do.

Good luck getting anything done. These people are not helpful and the phone number is always busy to make an appointment. STOP USING Covid-19 AS A REASON TO KEEP YOUR DOORS CLOSED.

I spoke with Ms. Allen today. She was a great help. She is very pleasant and eager to assist me. We need more people like Ms. Allen in this world. Thank you very much.

Sent in mine and my daughters passports so that I could get a replacement card for her. They sent the application back stamped saying I sent them in but NEVER sent passports back. After week of calling and thinking Iu2019m talking to someone in Clarksville I finally find out Iu2019m not and get the extension to the manager. She was helpful (so I thought) at first but then she just quit helping or returning my calls. She is working from home but yet canu2019t return my call when their office has lost 2 very important documents. She said only one person works in the actual office so you may want to really start questioning that person! Very disappointed and disgusted with how such important documents, that are also not cheap, were handled.

My son has tried for over a month to get a replacement card. He has been told multiple times to apply on line which he has. It keeps telling him he will be sent a code. Never receives one within the 10 day wait time so he calls them again and has to start the process over again. Has done this multiple times still no code. Called again today guess what they said will have to start process again. What in the name of flying monkeys does one have to do just to get a replacement card. His Job says he has to have it . Would give this place a 0 if I could.

Extremely rude. Non-professional people or at least one old lady was very rude and even hung up on me would not hear one word I had to say or ask Every time I went to ask a question or to make a statement she rudely interrupted me and would not let me finish what I wanted to say or ask and I promise I was very respectful, and I was being as nice as I could possibly be...terrible terrible Government service.

People answering the phones arenu2019t providing information accurate to the actual Social Security site. One woman was so snarky over the phone it was disappointing to even try to explain.
    Erin Taryla
Worst service ever! Extremely rude and unprofessional. All I needed to know to help a family member out was what documents, other than original ID, could be used to replace a card because we're not trusting the mail. Not only did the rep become defensive and rude and said she didn't know (but that's her job???) She then hung up because I simply asked for clarification.nDO BETTER!

This office likes to discriminate against people who are truly on medical disability, furthermore will be filing a complaint and speaking with EEO counselor about the program abuses being done to target and discriminate and harass individuals like me.

After sending in an application for name change (which I paid $26 to have overnighted to a building I could have drove to), along with marriage certificate and ID, my paperwork was sent back to me with a stamp stating that it had been approved. Cool, sounds great right? Mission accomplished...except it wasn't. I waited longer than a month for my new Social Security card. After calling multiple times, and trying to contact corporate office (which apparently can't be done), I was consistently told that after they send me my social security card, it is up to the Postal Service to get it to me. So in other words, someone else could have received a very vital piece of information to steal my identity, and they have no way of tracking it. I now have to pay more money to resend all of my information to them, in hopes that I get my paperwork and ID back. Also hoping I get my new social security card, I now have to put my trust into yet another government system that is clearly broken.

The representatives are pretty rude and unhelpful in this office. The only one that is not rude and has been helpful is Bridget Jones.nnAll of the workers could be more proactive with their communications. I was told today that after them having my application and documents scanned into their system that one of the medical records needs to be certified. This is no big deal, just went and got a certified record. My issue is that I had to call in after theyu2019ve had my documents for 3 weeks now just to be told this. On the application they ask for our phone number so why not be proactive in communications and call me instead of leaving me in the dark? Who knows how long I would not have even known about them needing a certified medical record before they would have been proactive in their jobs.nAlso, there is one older lady with a raspy voice in the office that is terrible to have to deal with. She was so rude and condescending to me I donu2019t think Iu2019ve ever been treated the way she treated me by anyone. It was quite shocking because it was unprovoked. I really got the impression that she didnu2019t care about me or my needs at all. Iu2019m really hoping I donu2019t ever have to talk to her again for anything. Someone in the office is also hanging up on people during business hours. I was hung up on multiple times before I could even get a word out. Very frustrating thing to have to deal with especially if you are trying to get things done before a deadline for taxes.nNot sure if this review will be seen or make a difference but at least itu2019s communication.

Spoke with Ms. Steinman after opting for u201cspeak with the next available representative.u201d Extremely pleasant and helpful, Ms. Steinman was able to clarify information and answer all my questions. Kudos to Ms. Steinman. :)

Iu2019ve submitted my name change application with my marriage certificate! I received the stamp on my application but nothing else! I try calling and when I do I am always on hold then the call goes silent and hangs up everytime! I have been waiting over a month for my new card! This is why I did not want to mail it and wanted to come in to have it taken care of! Some appointments are necessary not just mail important documents in!

Today I called the Social Security office and spoke with Mr Richardson. He was extremely helpful and professional. He was able to answer questions about my husbandu2019s pending retirement and also about Part A Medicare benefits. He set up an appointment in early July to speak with both of us and answered all questions. Appreciate his assistance and kind professional service. Thank you !!

Very upset they can't even read a court order, long hold times, very rude, and now we have to keep the old social even after having a court order because we can't keep waiting on them to do their job.

They have horrible customer service. Only have 3 hours a week their Dropbox is open. They do not do appointments, regardless of what the website says. Good luck trying to call too. They misspelled my first name after changing last name. And never responded toy emails or voicemails

Open up for in-person services already! I called 2 times to verify the correct documents needed for a name change before mailing in my application (twice). It was rejected twice. What a waste of time and also money to mail documents in when the office is in the city and should be open for drop offs. Absolutely the worst customer service. What a frustrating experience! 0 stars.

Sent in my marriage license in order to change my name and they send my application back with no info on why. So I call them and they explain I needed to send in the larger marriage license with my birthday and the same application. So yet again I DID. And here were are AGAIN this time with a rejection letter saying I still havent provided the right info. This is ridiculous. Open up already. ud83eudd74

I have been speaking with Ms Steinmann the last few weeks! Very professional and helpful with Rep Payee apps I been waiting for an answer on since October 2020. Unlike others she has answered the phone everytime I've called the last month. You need more employees like her. Thanks Anna!
