They are still under sheep covid communist rule. They still have a max capacity and strict mask enforcement. Plus they put in a hallway with no chairs for hours. Hope you never need to come because it is a typical communist federal government hypocrisy!

My son needs a replacement card for his driver's permit, so I called to make an appointment to drop off documents for the application. Sat on hold for an hour, then someone picked up and just hung up on me. If everyone else can be back at work, these government offices should have to be open. Now I'm seeing that people are waiting months to even get the cards they request, when the website says 2 weeks. Maybe the Libertarians are right.n>:(

I didn't think this state of PA could go any lower with gov. services the have absolutely NOTHING to offer. This is the capital and they cannot get ANYTHING right, but they think they are big time stuff. Rude inconsiderate operators.that act like I am bothering them. Time for these people to go back to the office with supervision. Waited 2 hours 7 minutes for this abuse!!!

Honestly they do not answer the phone at all no matter what time or day you call. They say that it takes 4-7 weeks after receiving yourproof of identificationto process and send back your proof then 7-10 days to send you your new ssn card, HOWEVER I have been waiting two months since I was sent back my proof of identity and still no new ssn card. I'm 19 and I need it to get a state ID, license, job, etc. Stop horsing people around and do your jobs.

OMG!!! I have been phoning them since couple of weeks. 10-15 phone calls per day to get them but no one is getting hold of. Very poor services. They are ripping government by just sitting there. I am wondering, what are they doing there ? Spend time in insta and Facebook ? They should be fired from this job and hire new people.

The social security office of Harrisburg has very little prepared for winter covid preparedness. They're only accepting appointments, good. Bad that you have to call in 30+ times in a row to get someone. Then once here... They make you wait outside for your appointment time... In winter. Disabled folks and old folks waiting for their appointments outside. Oh and let's not mention the huge lack of parking anywhere near the building.
    FRANKIE JOHNNY
Extremely terrible customer service, nowhere close to the building to park you have to park a block or more away, hard to get on the phone you're either on hold forever or it hangs up on you like it literally just did me when it told me to push 0 for the next available agent.

I put 3 stars down simply because when I called this number last year, the guy who answered was semi nice. Harrisburg office also caught the fraudster working under my daughters name when her identity was hacked a few years ago. For that, you deserve some good ratings.nnBut could you all get back to work soon? In ALL the buildings? Not just yours? We all have in person business to attend to.

have to make an appointment to give them the paperwork. can't make an appointment because no one ever answers the phone.

I have been calling for days and can not get through! The prompter keeps hanging up after spending many many minutes on hold!!
    Khadka Chhetry
No one answers the phone. After calling for hours and finally someone answered my call. The lady was super rude and she just talk and talk without even listening to what I was calling for and eventually after rudely talking she hung up on me.
    Madan Kharel
The worst customer service ever! I called to simply update my address but the way they talk is like we own money to them or something, I waited to talk to them for 20 minutes and when they finally picked up, I verified them of who I am and told them my problem, the rep was so rude and just hung up on me. How can we fix our problem if the customer service is not even willing to help. This office need audit and hire people with some decency.

No one answers the phone and they just hang up on you. I wish there was another place to go for important documents.
    David Shiery
Get there before they open. Took 10 minutes to get signed in and get a number. Was done in less than a hour. My person was very helpful with my situation. No poor attitude. Treat them with respect and you will get the same in return. I was dreading going in due to the other reviews, and was pleasantly surprised by my experience.

Came in on a Monday to get my name changed on my s.s card - no appointment, I waited less than 45 mins, when my number was called the gentleman helped me get everything processed in under 10 mins if that. My receipt said possibly 2 weeks for my new card to come and it came the Friday after I was there!

Worst government ran office ever. Threatened to hand cuff me because I enquired about my deceased husbands case. Keep your eyes open guys this is the new America no rights, no freedom of speech and no benefits for me going on three months because I would not fall in line. Insulted my mothering abilities by posting on my account that my daughter who I love and has always been with me needs a representative. What is this world coming to when we the people are bullied
    Tshering Tamang
No one answered the phone we need to protest infront of Harrisburg building
    k bharathi
No one picks the calls after hours of being on call.
    Kris Wingert
Odd Wednesday hours and rude workers. Seems a birth certificate is not a valid form of ID, even though it is on the web site. Had to go back 3 times to just get my daughters social card to get her drivers license. He even asked me for an insurance card with her name on it. Why would I have that on me? Way too hard to just prove who you are anymore.
    Edwin Moore
40 minute wait on the phone, to get a rude case worker that only cares about the time limit on calls. Unbelievable! This office is just as broken as our Judicial System. Donu2019t fix the problem- just keep prolonging it enough until you give up.
    Stephen Gunther
Not so bad to go.... If you arrive 30mins before the doors open. Start a line on the right side of the hallway. If you are there before the doors open you can be in-and-out in 20min.nThe only problem I had being new to this location is, if you park in the garage below the offices make sure to take your parking ticket with you! Get your parking pass stamped from the office you visited. Then you have to go to the 1st floor to buy a token to get out. It is $5 if you have a stamp from an office in the building. If you dont have a stamp it will cost you $25. It took me going back to the SS office to get my pass stamped. Then walked around the building back into the garage to get my vehicle out.

Social Security should outsource or privatize to a corporation, would be a much needed upgrade. I have a newborn son and a birth certificate was not enough to get his first name fixed that was a clerical error on their part. Why can't i verify this information before SSN is issued??? They need more documentation to prove he's ALIVE?!
    Talya Taylor
I have no idea why the comments are bad about the workers there. Everyone was so kind to me. If you treat people the you want them to treat you , there would not be a problem. I waited for an hour maybe. Why would I be angry to them ? They do their job good!
    Kings Kid
These people are a joke I have never dealt with such rude and disrespectful worker in my life the way I have today they need to reach a class on customer service not sure why some of these people even have a job here the way they talk to customer is ridiculous asked to speak to manager or supervisor and nobody wanted to transfer me so now I will be filing a complaint
    Donny Black
No answer makes it hard to get proper identification

Michael, the employee who has been answering the phone, is beyond rude. He hangs up on people constantly.
