I get the extra safety precautions that the government is taking due to COVID, but just as a warning, you can only drop off paperwork between 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Mid-morning on a Tuesday, I spoke with a woman on the phone who said I could just swing by the office and drop off paperwork. There was no mention of a required time in which I had to swing by the office to drop off the paperwork. So I get there at about 3:30, doors are locked. There is a security guard sitting there doing nothing, which doesn't even make sense because after speaking on the phone again with the same lady, apparently everyone in that office is working from home. The lack of communication is appalling. Honestly I had a better experience at the DMV, and that's saying something.

You will need to make an appointment with go in. They are very strict with the rules due to being a government building. I would also encourage the staff to leave a u201cAt Lunchu201d sign in the doors to show that they are not closed or any miscommunication to the citizens and employees. Overall I came in and out of there with no trouble. I recommend all to make an appointment before driving over there because they will turn you down and encourage you to make an appointment.

The Social security office is open again. It was a good experience. They provided a friendly and quick service. The security guard, the lady who give the attention numbers, and Michelle were nice. A very few people there.

You CANNOT get ahold of anyone to make appointments. You go there to hopefully speak with someone to make said appointment. Nope. Canu2019t do that. You get stopped by an unsympathetic rent-a-cop and tells you to u201ckeep callingu201d. Why is it SOOO hard to get ahold of the SSA?! Iu2019ve been trying for 5 months and have gotten no where. Iu2019ve tried EVRYTHING. Even contacting the Congress woman! Thereu2019s SO much that I cannot do because I canu2019t get an appointment with the SSA. Itu2019s baffling how they think this is okay.

Everyone was very friendly and excellent at helping us. There was no wait so we were in and out within 15 minutes. Previous reviews say this place is closed due to covid but that is not the case anymore.

Since i read many commented here i a bit worried. But they all totally nice. I try to called to make appointment but it didnu2019t work. So i go to their office with no appointment it took me around 30min. Everybody so nice.

Update- We just went there directly. Not much crowded. Donu2019t wait for appointments. Just go directly to address your needsnnNo idea how to get an appointment. Been calling calling calling....So frustrating. All i need to get SSN for my kids. Atleast give us option to do it online. Time is of value for everyone

Terrible in terms of receiving the call. Terrible in terms of booking an appointment. After calling for multiple days to just get through the automatic voice, finally got an appointment time (no choice, just one appointment time- take it or loose it). We were then sent back from the front door after arriving on the appointment time- were told that the appointment was canceled. We did not receive any notice of that beforehand.

I have been working with Anna at the Beaverton office and everyone has been effective and kind. The people who answer the phone to member services has has followed up in a prompt manor and been helpful and patient. Especially during the holidays and during the pandemic. These are great public service employees thank you.
    Kristie Schaffner
Have spent more than 2 hours on hold trying to make an appointment because that is the only option I have to complete what I need to do. There is no service inpublic service VERY annoyed and frustrated!

I ALWAYS LOOK AROUND FOR ALAN FUNT after either calling or in person appointments because this is truly a real life episode from CANDID CAMERA?nWhen you finally realize there are 2 different phone numbers to call in for help, you will finally have a better grasp of this learning curve no one speak because Its a really confusing system. There is a number to the local branch that keep the same hours as the President plus naps during calls. They make sure to let you know they close at 4pm and if you are in mid sentence they are sure to cut you off and tell you to call back the next day. The 2nd number is the national line thatu2019s open until 7:30. Now these are your typical, Jen pasakis. The conversation goes nowhere except to come back around as they tell you to call to local office tomorrow. There is one exception, Kevin Young. He is the only reason I am giving any stars at all. In the 3 years Iu2019ve been dealing with this dreadful department, he is the ONLY person that makes you feel like your not a swamp dweller. He is engaging, informative, and actually took the time to find the answers and was eager to help!nSide note: when filing for your SSI or SSDI or both, an attorney does not make it happen faster nor do they care. Itu2019s a numbers game for them with less than 50%success rate, thatu2019s actually a much higher number but Iu2019m done fact checking LIFE! Ok venting has ended!nHellooou2026..MR. FUNTu2026 you can come out now!

I have been calling this office for three days, due to receiving a letter to make an appointment. No-one is answering. I am beyond frustrated.nI would give zero stars if i could.
    Cravin Morehead
Pretty sure itu2019s illegal to be a federal government establishment and not allow people to retrieve information and funds. No one answers the phone. Canu2019t go in till you call and make an appointment. How is that possible if you canu2019t call?
    Barbara Van kleek
Ping listened to me and helped me get through to my SS Acct so that I may sign up for Medicare on time. Otherwise, I was going to have to wait 50 days for a telephone appointment.
    Mariana Nascimento
Tried to call and ask about getting a corrected sscard after marrige. Two sentences in the call that had me on wait for 14 min, the rude, short lady hung up. I didn't even get to finish what I had to say! I know this is a government facility and working conditions may not be the easiest but cmON! You could have at least redirect instead of hanging up!!

I submitted a new social security card with my married name so I could start my new job. Three weeks later I get the card in the mail with my orignail documents I sent in for proof of identity. One of those was my marriage certificate. They SENT ME THE WRONG CARD! so now out of work for 2-3 more weeks because they cant get my name right or read the documents I sent in. Then the lady just hung up on me! Awful office.

I called the office to see if I could get an appointment (yes I was put on hold for 6 mins ) but when it was my turn I got the nicest woman. She answered all my questions about applying Medicare and put me at ease. No appointment needed

No good information on website since it's a national site only. Very well hidden location like you would figure. Appointment only but no local number to make appointments with. Signage on doors is useless since there's a Bazillon pairs taped to the door. As typical if someone does come out to speak with you don't forget you areless thanthey are so of course you get attitude. Don't bother asking them for the number to make appointments because isIts on the website.BTW - as earlier stated no local number for making appointments. Here is usually where i insert my wise mouth comment but that's detrimental to receiving your payments on time. So in conclusion there's is zero purpose for this location to be operational since you can't accomplish anything here. Buyer Be Ware!

After reading reviews and failed attempts at getting ahold of someone via phone I wasnu2019t sure how getting a new SS card with my name change after marriage would go. I sent in all required documents and everything was processed within a week and got my new SS card.

You need to improve your appointment system, is been a whole year with the pandemic, and the SNA is still acting like day one. We are wasting our time calling you over and over without success, your employees also must be having a bad time with people mad at them. It shouldnu2019t be that difficult to ask for an appointment.nnIf someone give you a valid reason for a visit you should give them an appointment, thatu2019s it! Maybe not the next day, but soon. No more of u201cIu2019m sorry, try your luck tomorrowu201d and then if you get to Thursday of course you have to wait till Monday. No more hanging the call when the lines are busy at 9 am either, after all we are in 2021!
    Ian Board
My wait was around 30 minutes. Be prepared to wait and also potentially be cold. I found the waiting area super cold. The customer service lady named J.C. was a delight. She helped me in a speedy manner and was super friendly. Hopefully she will be your helper and you will receive wonderful customers service as I did.

Different staff provided me with different information. Several weeks ago, a staff told me I can make in-person appointment for next-day visit. I called twice in the last week at 9:00 and was told there is no appointment available already. Then I called third time and was told I can't make in-person appointment.
    Anne Lewis
I went there today to straighten out some issues with my Social Security pay. I waited a little over an hour for my number to be called from the time I took my number....I had no appointment. I just HAVE to say I tried to make an appointment on the national phone line, but after waiting over TWO hours on the phone, I finally just hung up (they said my wait time would be under an hour....) Myhelperwas the Asian person called out by several people here on this site. She was VERY down to business but I felt she was fair and friendly. I would say she is just doing her job and she's not into being your friend but for me, she was fine! Over all, I was impressed with how well this office handled the amount of people here. My visit was on a Monday morning which is probably more busy than normal and honestly, I was impressed with the overall speed of this office! I want to say that I am grateful to these federal employees and I feel they do a great job! And YES! The security guard is wonderful!

Frustrating experience. Poor customer service. I am able to make an in-person everywhere else, including the DMV, why can't SSA do it 1.5 years since the pandemic started? Seems unable to adapt with the times when everyone else has figured out solutions.
    Rebecca Scribner
I called for one thing and got that issue handled quickly and the agent was very friendly and professional. When done, I pushed my luck and asked for a second thing I needed taken care of and he was happy to do that as well. I had a very positive experience today.

Whatever lady works the phone here has been rude on multiple occasions and super short sounded annoyed to be on the phone lol told me to call back the next day for an apt so I did then she wouldnu2019t give me one the next day and told me to do it online , Iu2019ve already tried to do it online and it didnu2019t work so. the security guard was super kind and helpful though when I showed up!

I was not able to get thru any one in Social security administration for few weeks, I called few times a day for few weeks, i also left messages, but no one call me back, one time there was a live person answer the phone, she said i dialed the wrong extension, she then transferred me to a extension that went no where, I just need to make appointment. very frustrated.
    Lisa Marin
Surprisingly quick turnaround! Used the dropbox in Beaverton and received my new card and returned documents one week later. Excellent work.
