I submitted for a name change in September, and it was approved but the items I sent in that included a marriage license, a copy of my drivers license, and my new cards have not come to me in the mail. I spoke with Social security many times and they have given me the run around. It has now been deemed lost in the mail. I asked them what will be done to move forward and they told me to file for a replacement but everything else they don't know what to do about and its not their problem. They are super rude and I am very upset because you are supposed to trust social security with your personal information and now mine is compromised. I have left messages to speak with a manager and of course I have not been given a call back. This place doesn't even deserve 1 star but that is not allowed.

Oh my gosh. I tried the SSA.gov website and could not get in. Information was correct, but it locked me out. Called the SSA.gov help number, waited 18 minutes and they cut me off. I finally decided to call the Sandusky Office to see if I could make an appointment and received Josh who was a tremendous help. Thank You, Josh, for all of your help!! It's appreciated more than you know.

Superiority complex. I called to ask for help and the tone was so condescending. I only asked to make an appointment and for the office hours. I was talked down to and was made to feel stupid. I donu2019t receive social security benefits and was calling for someone else. I feel horrible for the people who need the help and have to deal with this attitude. The next available appointment was over 3 weeks out and after the deadline I told the representative about. She said I would have to take time off work to sit in the waiting room to get a sooner visit. I work over 40 hours per week and will have to take time off to accommodate their ineptness. Why is this the best outcome for dealing with an agency that has been in existence for over 70 years??? 1 star review is 1 too many.

Sent in a certified birth certificate from the Erie County health department to get a social security number for my grandson but yet was told by your employee its not acceptable identification but yet thats what you ask for along with a drivers license from his parent. How is a certified birth certificate not acceptable?

Well, I have heard nothing but horror stories about the Sandusky, Ohio Social Security office. I was told there are long lines, you need an appointment and the people there are rude and not helpful. I am here to tell you that is far from the truth. I arrived and was greeted by a very courteous and helpful security person. He explained the process and said he was there if any help was needed. I was about 5th in line and only had to wait about 12 minutes before my number was called. I met with C who was very pleasant, professional and helped my through the process.nnNeedless to say I was very impressed with the service I received. I was in and out in less than 45 minutes with all my work complete.nnI work in the customer service business and appreciate great customer service when I see it, hats off to the folks at the Sandusky, Ohio Social Security office, they are very good st what they do. Went to the office without an appointment. Signed in and seen in 10 minutes. The representative was very professional and knowledgeable. Gave me exactly the information that I needed and could not have gotten online on Social Security's website.

After being on hold for 52 minutes then get disconnected, not the first time this has happened. This office is a JOKE, 3.4 rating for a government establishmentud83dude44.nHere is a suggestion, hire new people that really want to assist, nobody has time to stay on hold for almost an hour then get hung up on.

I was waiting for my dad to get done there and I was walking my dog around instead of waiting in the hot car and theofficertold me I was in a restricted area. I was on the sidewalk beside the building. Don't put a sidewalk there if people can't walk on it.
