They lost my ID and Social. I was on hold for an hour and was given a direct line to call. Everytime I call I hear someone talking on lunch and they ignore me on the phone. 6th time calling today. Now it's saying to try calling again later. I've wasted so much of my time already on this. How am I suppose to drive without an ID?

Absolutely the worst experience I have ever dealt withu2026 Waited on the phone for two hours to get a human being because they wonu2019t go back to work even though the virus is overu2026 Tried getting help for my aging parents and absolutely no help in fact the woman was completely rudeu2026 Itu2019s a shame that anyone has to go through a nightmare like thisu2026 You may as well close the office completely because theyu2019re worthless

I have tried for months to speak with someone about a simple name change. Never answers phone and cannot do this process online. Just trying to make an appointment with you people ! Hello you there ?

Funny how Josh Womack (down below in another review) is complaining about how Social Security canu2019t answer a u201csimple questionu201d but he canu2019t find the answer to his u201csimple questionu201d online by himself. If itu2019s so u201csimpleu201d then donu2019t rely on others to do it for you. Simple as that.

I have been trying for 5 days to get someone to answer the freaking phone. There should be someone you can contact to complain. The Hamilton ohio office is b.s . I mean what the heck, there is no reason that you can not answer . I have called multiple times all day long. It is important that I speak specifically to that office. I'm mad as heck and would love to use stronger language here.

I waited on phone 18 minutes which was OK because I know they were busy. But then recording said everyone was busy, please call later. They should have said that no later than 5 minutes of waiting

I had the most impressive, kind and knowledgeable representative. I was pleasantly surprised as well as my husband who accompanied me.

I dropped my passport and forms on May 15 to get a replacement for my social security card. Received my replacement card in 10 days but I have been waiting for my passport to return to me for 6 weeks now. Called them several times. Same answer. Keep an eye on your mailbox youu2019ll get it. They hung up on me rudely a bunch of times. This is how they take care of you real goodu2026nThanks

I changed my last name during COVID and I would not wish my experience on my worst enemy. What a building full of toxic, rude, self-righteous horribly trained employeesnn1. As I was on the phone with SSA dropping off my docs, I confirmed what I needed. The man said yes, but failed to inform me of my marriage license.n2. Because of that, I realized a couple days later, called to ask if I could pick them up, and was called u201ca screw up and have fun waiting for your rejection letter.u201d This same woman refused to let me talk. She cut me off and refused to listen to anything I said.n3. I live 10 minutes away and when it had been a month I called. I was yelled at to u201cgive USPS a break.u201d I had no problem with that, but I was curious.n4. They claimed I forgot to give them ID even though I gave them a valid passport.n5. Next round I called after a month and a half. Woman states it was approved and mailed. I call 2 weeks later to learn the woman lied, so someone had to immediately approve it.nnNot to mention the three times I called, every single one of them said 3 different things when it came to giving documents yet claiming u201cwe do hundreds a dayu201d u2014 one person not disclosing the marriage license, another saying I didnu2019t need my birth certificate, and finally one person telling me the correct answer..

My wife sent her passport and all the info to this office to get her name changed back in July... it's now September and NOTHING. Out usps tracking number showed it was delivered a few days after we mailed it.. they won't answer the phone.. if you're on hold long enough, the automated person tells you to call back later and hangs up on you.. ITS BEEN 3 MONTHS!!!!

This is how your government uses your tax money to work for you. And guess whatu2026. You have no recourse. If you donu2019t like it, too bad. What are you going to do about it?!!!

Mr Lewis at the SSA PHONE LINE has given EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE to me. Mr Lewis has helped me obtain information that I was seeking with the office of social security. I applaud Mr Lewis for continued support and respect to his caller on several occasions. Thank you Mr Lewis, Job well done!

I have never been treated so rudely and unfairly over the phone. Mrs. Wilson hung up on me, she cut me off several times so I could never get any questions answered. This office has my original ID card and social security card. I just need my documents please and my sons social security card. I wasnu2019t treated with care at all. How do you hang up on someone who is asking when will they get what they applied for back with original documents? I canu2019t do anything without my ID, itu2019s been two weeks already. I canu2019t show my ID to purchase things because this office has my only photo ID. Please process my application and send me my documents please.

I just need to drop off some documents relating to my son's SSDI app. Unfortunately, the drop box is locked inside the building. What's the purpose of having a drop box that you can't access?! The place is locked up unless you have an appointment. You call and no one ever answers the phone to make an appointment. Guess I'll have to mail the documents a few blocks, which will probably take the mail service 2 weeks to deliver, if there is an actual mailbox somewhere in that Godforsaken SS office.

No one is leaving a five star rating??? Iu2019m give it as the officers were super nice and professional. Been the before and after the COVID outbreak. Due to the pandemic, they do face to face business with appointments only.

These people are incompetent numb nuts who do not care about anyone I wouldnu2019t trust them with my social security number . The cannot answer simple questions . ITu2019s ridiculous

If I could leave zero stars that would be more like my review. They give the same incorrect information and say things are still being processed going on a year battling with them for my mothers back pay they incorrectly took from her QMB. While the woman I spoke with laughed then put me on a indefinite hold.

I had my phone appointment to apply for social security today. Tom McKenna provided excellent information! I thought I knew what I wanted to do before the call; however, he provided other options so that I could make an informed decision. I appreciated all the helpful information and am pleased with my final choice based on the options provided. Thanks so much for the time, trouble, and patience with me!

I called 3 weeks ago to get letters certifying SSN's for my daughter and I. Still waiting. My daughter wants to get her license and her job needs a copy of her card. The young man on the phone said I'd have them in a week.. ud83dude44

Miss Wilson and Miss Seda went out of their way to help me today. It was much appreciated.

Is this place open yet? Why on earth is it even still closed? Total joke. Twice now I have tried to get a name change with the documents they require. Each time they find some reason to reject them. I have to wait 8 to 10 weeks to get my stuff back to resubmit. It is taking me months for what could normally be done in a day of this place would just open like the rest of the freaking country.

They donu2019t know how to treat people . I have been waiting for 4 weeks with no social no identity . Nothing , they havenu2019t started to even process my application. Please help yourself . They are rude , cutting off people . Poor customer service

Tom McKenna was an amazing help to me. His professionalism, patience and perseverance were greatly appreciated as he helped navigate me through this process. Itu2019s so heartwarming to know in these difficult times, we are all experiencing, that there are knowledgeable and caring people as Tom. God bless you and thank you again.

Waited for 2 1/2 hours. Finally left without seeing anyone because they were getting through about 1 person every 20-30 minutes. And there were about 20 people ahead of me. Women next to me said they waited 3 hours and then they closed and she didn't see anyone. Had to start over. Huge waste of time. Makes BMV look like fun compared to this!

Went to get my daughter a replacement ss card. Waited for 3 hours! Had to leave at 2:30. I effected an hour or so. Not 3 hours. There were a couple people that were there for 4 and a half hours.

I went to the Social Security office in Bridgewster Falls and was stuck there for three hours only because Ms. Wilson refused to process my motheru2019s paperwork right away after we had been there for two hours. She said we needed to wait for her to take care of all the walk in customers before she helped us after being there for 2 1/2 hours ! What poor customer service she has. She is very rude and needs to go back to school to learn proper customer service skills. I asked her if anyone else could take care of it right away and she said u201cthatu2019s a very good question who knowsu201d Wow! I told her my mom couldnu2019t stand very long and could she please take care of it now and she still refused! So after waiting to get helped an additional one hour later, we saw another person named Seda, and she was extremely nice and took care of the paperwork and low and behold it only took her five minutes to key in this information. Kudos to Seda, and Ms.Wilson, you should be ashamed of yourself making us wait an additional hour for five minutes worth of work !! Customer service goes a long way and you just proved today that you LACK CUSTOMER SERVICE !!!

Everyone else spoke for me. I don't know what to believe, whether for their unwillingness to change and become more efficient or their unmoving hand when it came to dealing wisely with other people's time, they are extremely slow. Shorthanded seems to be their only excuse. If you have the chance to go to another offical office, if highly recommend avoiding this one, unless you've got the time to wait.
    Laura Bondi
About 30 people waiting to be helped on the day I visited this office. Only 2 windows open. They only get through about two people an hour. Why have 25 windows if you only seem to ever have two open?! Funny, they have u201cnoticesu201d at every window not to sit in the chairs even if the window is closed. This makes up about a quarter of the available seating. This office is a joke!
