I'm trying to get some extensive paperwork completed due to a death in my family. As Covid-19 is here, the office has been closed for months.nSpoke with 3 different people on the phone, all were very condescending, intimidating, and judgmental. One man even had me in tears.nThese people are supposed to service our citizens, not berate them!nIt was a disgusting, belittling experience.

I had received a letter in the mail to go in for an appointment. When I got to my appointment I waited 15 minutes before anyone had called on me just to be told that the person I had an appointment with wasn't there. Fortunately someone else did the appointment. When the appointment was finished I asked if there was a place that I could feed my 7 month old daughter and the security guard had suggested I use the bathroom. Really? I wasn't aware that people ate where other people defecate. After I had told him that I wasn't using a bathroom to feed my baby I was offered a private room, but was told that I had to turn my chair because it has security cameras, despite me telling them that I use a blanket to cover myself. At the end of my appointment I was also told that I would receive a phone call within a few hours; 24 hours later and no one has called. I cannot get a hold of anyone at the office because the local number says it is disconnected and the 800 number is not the correct number, plus there's a 40 minute hold time. I should not be inconvenienced because of someone failing to do their job properly. I guess my other option is to drag my children out in below freezing temperatures to drive half an hour and be told to wait? No thanks. I'm not sure why government offices are the worst places to receive any type of service. They can be rude, slow, inconvenient; but god forbid citizens don't do your part.

I got there when they opened up at 9am. I was about 4th in line and waited over 90 minutes. That isn't the worst part, I know they are very understaffed and maybe a little stressed but on Tuesdays they only are there 3 hrs I can't imagine how stressed you can get by working only 3 hours. They do have a very good system printing a ticket and calling you when your number comes up but once you get back there look out for the rude lady behind the desk. She is very snappy, won't let you talk and hurries you along I really wanted to say. Hey lady remember me , I pay your wages from my taxes you kinda work for me so as your boss CHANGE YOUR attitude. Be friendly and a little friendlier I was only there for paperwork and she went back got it off the computer and handed it to me. I was only in her cubicle for about 5 minutes. I doubt that she will ever read this but if she does I hope she is treated better than she treats people some people should not be dealing with customers.

I waited for hours at the Youngstown office before leaving. I was in the East Liverpool office for at the most 10 minutes. The lady was very nice but straight to the point got everything I needed and got me out of there. I should have went there in the first place. Thank you. By the way I went for a replacement card.

It's been over a month since I went for a replacement social security card and still have not received and they can't give me any information. They said I would have to come back in and do it all over again which means I'll have to spend even more money to get copies of everything they need to prove identy and what not. This is ridiculous.

Just be sure to call to ensure their doors are actually open. Do not rely on Google when inquiring office hours.

Extremely disgusted that Mr. Green at the East Liverpool office that promised me back in January that he would get back to me regarding my dispute never sent a follow up letter and didn't bother even noting the call we had in my record...Also indicated that the additional information I faxed with resolve overpayment issues in my favor...I don't understand how millionaires can owe the Social Security and IRS millions in tax and I can't get my crummy, pathetic $827
