Iu2019ve been back and forth trying to contact this SSA office (my local office) and the regular federal contact number since last week but have yet to talk to anyone!!nnThis office just comes up as u201cbusyu201d every time I try and call (never even rings or anything) and the federal line rings a couple times before saying thereu2019s no availability for phone service(s) right nowu2026 Iu2019m contacting them because SSA is holding up my tax return by not uploading my 2021 earnings to their system yet. So the IRS canu2019t verify my income or withholding amounts in order to process my returnu2026nnI am SO beyond frustrated. Shouldnu2019t government agencies be here to HELP us?! This is crazy!

They finally opened their office April 7th after being closed over two years. Even social services opened up a year before this office did. As people mentioned super backed up. It's been awful getting ahold of my son's case manager. Left several messages my phone number changed. Went through the process of making sure someone updated all systems with my new number. I asked her can I come in to do the income verification and she said they're backed up and nobody will be able to help it's just customer service. Luciky I had another case worker reach out and was able to get everything done since my original one was impossible to get ahold of. I left my case manager several voicemail including new number equivalent to talking to a brick wall. Going forward it would be nice to also have emails listed as well for communication and alternative case manager or a supervisor we can get ahold of in these situations.

Horrible service. Trying to set up an appointment just to get my wifeu2019s name changed since you cannot do it online. Iu2019ve called in the past and got hung up on. Well called 5 times today, went through the menu, then I get put on hold. After a few rings, someone picks up and hangs up...nnI finally got in touch with a guy who was rude, disrespectful, and just not helpful at all. I was in the middle of telling him I just want to set up an appointment for my wife and I and he says u201cI need to talk to heru201d though she works Mon-Thurs all day. Their office isn't opened on Fridays due to u201ccovid.u201d He just hangs up on me! Iu2019ve called back multiple times and got hung up on. The workers in this office (and honestly mostly any government run offices) are rude!!nnThings that should be able to be done online you cannot do like a simple name change so you have to call, but when you call, you get treated like trash! Now I know why so many people hate government run entities! Fire your workers if they donu2019t want to work!

On hold for over 20 mins this morning. Phone began ringing and then they hung up. If you aren't going to open the office for appointments at least answer the phone...

Very unhelpful staff and having to call repeatedly to get an actual person on the phone. I have tried using their online services to get a new social security card and it said it couldnt verify my address, so I called them and updated it and was told to wait 24 hours before I was able to submit a new form, no problem at all. I went back in today to apply again for my card and it still couldn't verify my address. The only other option they have available is to send in a form and wait 3-4 weeks to even get a replacement card. It used to be where you could walk in and get one no problem, now it's almost impossible to get any kind of assistance with anything.

They donu2019t answer the phone and wonu2019t offer any help in person. Gave up after almost 2 hours of my time wasted.

Been trying to call for 4 days . Just answering machine that says they canu2019t take the call at this time to try again later and just hangs up .

I waited on hold twice for an hour and got disconnected both times. There has to be a way for them to answer the phones.
    Giuseppe Irizarry
I called them waiting about 20 minutes which is expected had a women answer and then talk down to me and treat me like a child the entire time and gave me no respect whatsoever and then put me back on hold and hung up the phone on me terrible customer service hated the entire Experience never want to do this again. I just can't wait for this to be over

Had young lady Stefanie handle my situation setting up my retirement account, let me say she was the MOST helpful and understanding person I believe I've ever dealt with on the Federal or state level. She made me feel she truly wanted to help and put me at ease. Thank you Stefanie!
    Kathryn Douglass
The worst office I've ever had to deal with over the phone, mainly because I haven't been able to deal with anyone/anything. Nobody answers the phone, I've been on hold for 15-20 minutes multiple times, their doors are locked because they are not accepting walk-in visits, so I'm at a stand still now trying to get a new social security card.

Have to wait 2 hours to talk to somebody and sometimes they will hangup on you after waiting that long

Filing by phone, or online is high probability of fraud, and scams. Answering service is false advertising, as they do say in person appointments available, but they are not. Associate hung up on me when I requested information on her credentials. There is NO WAY to be certain your calls are not being intercepted by scammers, and SSA employees should be more understanding when customers express their concerns, or else I was speaking to an actual scammer!

I would give 0 stars if I could. They incorrectly input my address becauseit wouldn't fit in the boxand my marriage certificate and passport got lost in the mail. Staff was unhelpful.

Asked for a name change on my social back in nov 2020 itu2019s January. Called three times and they say Iu2019m processed Iu2019m still waiting on my marriage cert and my social security card to come into the mail. But yet thereu2019s no u201cmanageru201d I can speak to, to see if theyu2019re mail room is just backed up or if they lost my marriage cert and card.

I called and put it on speaker. Waited for over two and a half hours. Hung up and called again. Waited over an hour and gave up.

No one ever answers phones!! I need to make an appointment and I can't!

Worst experience ever, since the pandemic started nobody answers the phones and the office is closed.

I was on hold for 45mins waiting for an agent to speak with me. That wasnu2019t a problem because I understand that call volumes can be pretty high in the mornings. The problem occurred when the agent answered the telephone she answered very rudely and demanding. She was very u201cshortu201d with her words and didnu2019t want to hear anything that I was saying. Needless to say I cut the conversation short after about 1min of speaking with her. The wait time doesnu2019t both me but I donu2019t expect to reach an Agaent whou2019s so rude this early in the morning.

Tried to get replacement SSN cards for my children. Web site says it will take a school ID. He would not even talk to me without a signed and sealed transcript from their school. I had original birth certificates and a high school ID which was issued by a State institution which it shows is accepted online. NOWHERE on the web site does it state that they accept a signed and sealed school transcript that I can find. Waited 2 hours for nothing. And by the way, apparently they do appointments which I also have not yet found on the web site.

To follow-up on my previously posted review below...I called this same office back 2 business days later, spoke to someone else, and they advised my replacement card could be sent to me again via telephone and I wouldn't need to come back into the office. So not only was the previous employee rude and unprofessional, he did not give me proper information and did not care to take the time or effort into wanting to provide me with the proper information...nnI called and was hung up on 3 separate times before my call was answered on the 4th try. The male representative was non-empathetic and very rude. He kept talking over me and wouldnu2019t let me answer his question before I gave the answer. I was calling about a status update on a name change for my SS card - the receipt I was given from this office said to call if I hadnu2019t received it within 2 weeks. The representative said I should have called within 7-10 days instead of what I did - although I was following the receipt information. He then said I had to come back to the office and ask for another card again! His tone was extremely negative and no sincerity at all. When I thanked him for his help (even though he wasnu2019t very helpful) he just said u201coku201d and hung up on me. No u201cthank you for callingu201d or u201cgoodbye.u201d Highly unprofessional employee.

Just stayed on the phone waiting for a rep for 30 minutes. When it finally transferred me to a rep, it rang multiple times then said all reps were busy and hung up. Very frustrating!

Can not get them to answer the phone. I need my newborns social security number so we can file our taxes, but these people don't answer the phone and the building is locked up saying phone only ud83dude10 I know we are in a pandemic but people still need their government to work for them.

Horrible. My daughter was born 5/6. We were told it would take 3 weeks to get her social security card. Three weeks later we called and she hadn't been processed yet. We were told that social security cards take longer coming from the hospital. What?!? A newborn should be top priority. Four weeks later and no social security card. We called and were told, well she's processed. You can come here and fill out a form to get a replacement card. Which will take 7-10 business days to get in the mail. We have 30 days to get her into registered with our insurance company. Looks like we will have a newborn without insurance because our social security office sucks!!!!!!!!!!

The SS Administration today was very slow. I had a appointment at 12:00 With a letter. It's now 1:26 and still have not been seen. The security guard was very very rude and millitant. I feel he should be a little bit more personable and helpfully he is the front desk man that is so post to be nice and helpful. He put me on the defensive immediately and followed me around, like I was lowlife sum or something. He was creepy and acted very rude like he had hate for me and it showed. This whole experience was a night nare for me. They might need a review to make sure they r doing there jobs right. People don't have to b so hateful for no reason.
