I called Greensboro number (my local) for two days. Never received an answer. On hold for HOURS Finally called reidsville office Rang 2 or 3 times The man was polite and helpful. Answered my questions and gave me a date as I requested for what I needed. It pains me to know I wasted so much time trying to reach a larger office expecting an answer ud83dude44ud83dude44. I wish I knew the manu2019s name to put his name out there since he deserves a pat on the back. I was totally shocked.

I called the Reidsville branch in early February 2022 to get information regarding a name change after getting married. I called numerous times with many dropped calls on their end, left a message when one of the SSA agents' voicemails picked up (which ultimately nobody returned my call), then finally spoke to someone who ended up giving me wrong information. I was told that people were still working from home and I could fax my information in order to be issued a new SSA card with my new name. I followed the agents' instructions, who also gave me the fax number, to the tee only to now (in March) receive a letter saying I cannot be issued a new card bc a fax cannot be used even though this is what I was told to do due to the circumstances. Now I am having a hard time getting a hold of someone to correct this. The phone message clearly states in person is by appointment only. I understand that SSA offices are incredibly busy but so am I. While the agent I spoke to was very friendly, the information he gave me was incorrect thus wasting my time. So basically 2 stars for friendliness, all else fail. I was given bad/ incorrect information, my request was not handled and phone lines not reliable.

Per the website it says to get a Ss card you need to send a birth certificate and ID so I did this for my son, ordered a birth certificate for 52.00 and waited to send with ID to SS office. We rec the Ss card and ID back but not the birth certificate. When I called the representative by the name of ms Harold and my son got into a screaming match over the phone so we asked for a supervisor. A supervisor never called I have spoke with the dept manager with no resolution as of to date. No one has called or reached out in any kind of way so now Iu2019m back at square one with no birth certificate. Very unprofessional customer service.

Most pleasant experience I have ever had at a social security office. I had lost my card (for the 3rd time in my life lol)nI was dreading going into another social security location because every office I have ever visited was full of unpleasant cranky staff.nNot at this office! I was in and out in about 20 minutes. The security officer is an absolute delight! All smiles, super friendly from the moment you walk in the door. He was joking and chatting with everyone the entire time :-) The person that assisted me with ordering my replacement card was just as friendly, helpful and pleasant as the guard. I am going to try my best not to ever lose my card again but if I do this is the office I will go to.nA++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I was told that his lunch break was more important than answering my questions over the phone. He laughed at me, told me I was asking to many questions. He also said he only had two minutes to talk because he had to go to lunch. Never in my 32 years have I ever dealed with such rudeness over the phone and I have had a ton of experience in office work. You never tell your client such a thing.
