I had a surprisingly great experience at the Social Security office. We arrived at 9:00 for our 9:30 appointment. We stood in line outside for a couple of minutes. The representative checking in everyone and the officer were both were friendly and helpful. Once I got inside the building, they had more people there to guide you and assists with the kiosks. I wish that I had the name of the man who helped me, because he was so nice. My appointment was at 9:30, and I was walking out of the building at 9:22.

Itu2019s hit or miss when you call in, but I was finally able to schedule an appointment a couple weeks ago, & the staff was very pleasant during my visit. I was also in & out within a half an hr. The facility is practicing COVID protocols very strictly by scheduling only a few appointments per day, reminding people to keep their masks on, blocking off customer seating (& entire sections where the representatives service the public) for social distancing purposes.

Had an excellent experience at this office. I want to congratulate everyone! And let everyone know that I had an appointment Monday 04/11/22 and I was earlier. Hesitated to enter the building, but it was cold outside.nFrom the man outside, (can't remember his name) the security personnel, the officer, the lady helping out the kiosks, and the person that assists me with my application, were all amazing! I left the building at 2:22.

How is it remotely logical to require an appointment to drop off a signed form? Okay, then I'll fax the form. The fax number doesn't work. Okay, I'll email the form. What? Email isn't an option? If this were a business it would have failed miserably a long time ago. In an age of streamlined and instant communication, the Social Security Administration is still carving shapes onto stone tablets by firelight in a cave.

Social Security in Charlotte, NC has got to be the worst of the worst. The calls are always rerouted to the call center no matter what time you call. The call center doesnu2019t know anything about anything. Every time I call the call center I have to give them the correct address and they still send mail to the WRONG address. You mail in forms and no one has any idea about the forms you sent in. Someone called and asked me to mail in forms that I sent 5 months ago. Then all of sudden on the call she magically found the forms. The worst experience Iu2019ve ever had. Georgia is sooo much better.

So I read the reviews and they caused me so much anxiety, I couldn't eat or sleep leading up to my appointment here. I got married beginning of last year, and after a year of procrastinating I finally called to get my last name changed. Mr. Cortez answered and was so helpful and nice and gave me all the information I needed. He said my options were to mail in the documents or make an appointment to drop off the documents in a drop box. I got the appointment for two days later. I go today, greeted by their security guard, went through the detected then he led me to a cubicle box. I'm sad I didn't get the name of the gentleman who helped me, but I gave him my documents expecting to be told to leave and will have them mailed back after being processed. Nope, he asked if I was in a hurry, I said no, and he did the whole process right then and there and gave me my documents right back. Few minutes later, he gave me the receipt that my application has been received and told me my new SSC with my new name will come in 2 weeks! Then I was free to go! I was super stressed and anxious for nothing!! So I guess, opt for getting the appointment. Perhaps you'll get lucky and be helped right away like I was.nAnyway, thank you Mr. Cortez and the lovely staff member who helped me today. Here's to hoping it goes just as smoothly at the DMV! Ha ha

Mrs Carrington, at the Charlotte Office was the best Customer Service Rep Iu2019ve ever experienced at this office. She was so kind, understanding and she actively listened to my request. Listening and understanding me is very hard because I donu2019t always explain myself well. She fixed my problem and assured me everything was ok. She deserves Kudos!!! Thank you for being Great!

Where do they find these rude people. The security guard was the worst of them all. I called and someone from SS told me I could just drop off my application so thatu2019s what I tried to do. When I tried to explain myself to the guard and what I was told he shhu2019d me and told me to u201csave my excusesu201d who talks to someone like that? I wasnu2019t rude to him I was simply trying to tell him what I was told. Just another example of someone who thinks just because they have a badge they can be awful to people. Donu2019t work with people if youu2019re going to be miserable.

I understand everyoneu2019s frustration dealing with the SS offices these days. I was on the phone for a very long time before I finally got through and made my appointment. What I thought was an office visit ended up being a phone appointment set for two months from the day I called, as was confirmed in a letter. Two months later my day was finally here! I was so surprised when the sweetest voice came on the phone and walked me through everything needed to finally start my SS benefits. Due to drawing on my husbandu2019s, it was a little more complicated (thus not being able to complete it online) but Ms. Stoval was efficient, thorough and made what I was afraid was going to be a headache, very easy and quick and pleasant. Thank you, Ms. Stoval, for your help today. Charlotte Office, take note of this woman and never let her go!

You can NEVER get in contact with the correct person, they are either in an interview and you have to pass on a message that NEVER get replied to, or NOTHING is ever done! We as the people understand you all are busyu2026 WE ARE TOO thatu2019s just the way of everyday life!! Please do better for you clients and the government needs to do better with STAFFING.
    Filmon Berhe
Fast service and good customer service. Few people, around 7 in line for walk-ins. And I saw no one complaining about their experience here. But they need to improve their phone service.
    Kristin Gabriel
The staff at the front door continuously parrots that you have to have an appointment, and tells you to call their number. Itu2019s hung up on me 5 times as I write this. They were unwilling to make exceptions even though I had been standing there for 1.5 hours and nobody else (literally nobody) was left in line.

It was hard to get through to make an appt. but once I did I got lucky...A Mrs. Carrington was just awesome, professional and kind, very grateful for all of her help! My appt. was about 2 months out and Mrs Carrington graciously checked for cancellations and I got an afternoon appt. that very day! Mrs Moore, also professional, patient and gracious, interviewed me. I just want to thank these two woman who both said they were just doing their jobs. Courtesy and kindness is in short supply in these hard times we all face, thank you u2764ufe0f

Every time I call I get hung up on EVERY TIME!!!! They just pick up the phone then hang it up or pick up put you on hold for 30 min then hang up on you for somebody who only does phone service only you should have more respect for the people who call y'all this is sad and despicable.

I think it is time to get the news involved. I sent off my hard copies that they asked and was told my drivers license and other documents would be back the same week if I sent it off on a Monday smh. 3 weeks later I received my documents and a letter saying the couldnu2019t approve my application for my kids social security cards . They need to open up every business is open and theyu2019re not . It makes no sense for people to have to mail in their documents they ask for to get a letter saying they canu2019t verify.

Spoke with Ms. Rivera today after holding for only 6 minutes. She was delightful and took care of my questions quickly! She was very professional and friendly. Thank you.
    Morningstar Rodriguez
Just like the other reviews say DO NOT MAIL YOUR ORIGINAL COPIES TO THEM! They will loose your original documents and act like itu2019s not their fault! My newborn doesnu2019t have a social at all according to them the hospital never applied for him one and when I did they u201cneveru201d received the application with my drivers license, original copy of his documents included SMH.

Dealing with them is a nightmare. I've been working with them for 8 months on a very simple matter with no resolution. Online inquiries can't handle it. If you call, you're on hold for 17 minutes and cut-off. If by chance you do get someone, they just tell you what sounds good and DO NOTHING!nI don't even know what to do from here. At one point a representative found my case in an employees pending file, it had been forgotten. There's no way to get help. Why are my tax dollars paying for this.

Waited on hold for an hour and out of nowhere was hung up on. If you donu2019t want to do your job, quit or go home but to hang up on me after waiting for so long to speak to someone is ridiculous. How can I handle my business with half assers on the other end?
    Ali Yilmaz
The phone is blocked while connecting. I can't connect to the phone. My phones are blocked. I warn the authorities. I can't get registration number for disability. I cannot reach this institution by phone.

The staff person I spoke with was very, pleasant, helpful and knowledgeable. She had specific instructions to make sure my name change application was processed correctly. Thank you for your assistance!
    Nola Henderson
Good luck even getting anyone to answer the phone, let alone to get an appointment... and you must be ignorant if you think I am mailing in my only copies of the documents you need. This place is a joke. Not even sure why we pay taxes if this is the service we are offered...

    Mariah Love
ZERO STARS!! NO ONE EVER ANSWERS THE PHONE ITu2019S A NIGHTMARE! When the call actually goes through they have you on mute and wonu2019t answer !!! Clearly they donu2019t work !!!

The whole of USA is open and they are closed for the pandemic. Funny . They donu2019t work. They donu2019t work at all. The agents who pick the call think we people are losers to call them. Every agent gives a different status for the same case in the same day. They give appointment and my name was not listed on that particular day. Hell with these people.

I needed to replace my 12 yeae old daughters ssn card. I was told to fill out their replacement card form, send in original birth certificate, immunization record, and my identification. I didn't want to send my DL so I mailed my military ID. It has now been a month and nothing has been returned to me. I called today, waited 20 minutes for someone to tell me they don't have anything processed for me. WHERE THE PHUCK is my documents. Waiting for a supervisor call back ud83eudd2cud83eudd2cud83eudd2cud83eudd2cud83eudd2c

One of the worst Customer Service I have ever seen. I have applied for SSN for my son and it been more than 6 months still I have not received it. They keep saying it pending with vital records for more than a month but when we call them they say that SSN office should call to verify and it will be done on the same day. I regret for applying in SSN Charlotte office.
