Had an important appointment at 10:30 and drove an hour to get there. She didnu2019t get there until 40 minutes later after sitting in the car just to tell my fiancu00e9 they couldnu2019t process his application for a replacement card. If they are busy then they shouldnu2019t be scheduling appointments on top of each other or at least let me know you will be that late. I tried to file a complaint over the phone and the representative told me they will not be doing that and management does not care about stuff like that and then she hung up on me.nnWeu2019ve been dealing with this for a month now and you get different answers out of each representatives that contradict what the prior representatives says. They all have absolutely poor customer service skills and talk down to you even though they are the ones making mistakes with informing people with CORRECT information. We are incredibly annoyed since they are just dragging their feet at this point. Hopefully this fourth application doesnu2019t get lost like the last one.

I just moved to the US and I needed a SSN to work. I called the UTICA office, they picked up in 10 min, and then called me back in two days with a date for an in person meeting. They were extremelly helpful, nice and everything went well. Got my SSN in 2 weeks! I live in Syracuse, so before all this I called that office 5 times...one of those I was left on hold for 2 hours!! I never heard the voice of a person. Long story short: I strongly recommend the Utica office. The extra drive was totally worth it!

The gentleman behind the glass that helped me, was very nice..but, the security guards as you walk in the building were the most rude, unprofessional men I have ever dealt with. I was there to get my name changed on my SS card, not for a handout, no reason for the way I was treated....

Like any government offices, customer service is lacking in all area. Wait times are long and most of the time they act like they doing you a favor. It like your waiting to see a prisoner in prison.

Long wait times easier to call make phone appointment. If you go to office expect to be there 1.5 hours to 2.5. note the hours they are open because they could be various closing hours.

I called the office at 2:45, it said my wait time was 1 hour, it was longer then 1 hour and when it got to 4pm they just sent my call to a call center that couldnu2019t even help me and the representative was very rude.
