Can anybody explain to this office, their office phone only works after off-hours. I've called for 3 days continuous between 9AM and 4PM and their phone number only beep. I called today at 0855 today and the phone worked perfectly telling me they are not open yet. As soon as the 9AM hit, phone start beeping. Are you guys really serving us? It says appointment only but we can't get you on the phone for that appointment. All companies are open but this office complaining about COVID and won't allow walk-ins. Gov't jobs, the least said about them the better, you save your breathe. Fix yourself.

I have been trying for 2 days to get in touch at numerous times. Sometimes I wait an hour. I get someone then get disconnected. Get someone again they wonu2019t take my hone number because they cannot call me back if we get disconnected. I am trying to apply for Medicare part A only. I was told because I work & have insurance through my employer I only need part A. Cannot make an appointment to go to the local office.nIt says in application if I donu2019t enroll in part B I could get a lifetime if late fees & penalty. What does this mean???? I am just trying to do the right thing. Hope this reaches someone that can help.

Paid $89 to have the form for replacement SS card, sent back the filled form with passport, they sent me back someone else's ID card and now the passport is missing and refuse to assist to expedite the replacement card and the passport is still missing and no one to help. The most unprofessional organization. How can a mistake like that be made at a government office and no one wants to be responsible. They have another couple days before I go HAM in the office.

10th call so far for 2 pieces of info I need on a letter. These people are incompetent. If they get paid more then minimum wage they are stealing from the government. I recieved 4 letters with no info on it that I requested. Letters took 3 weeks to reach my house after they said 5 to 7 days.

My worst experience ever.nI recently became citizen and took off my middle name and because of that change I had to go to SSA to file for the change name. I had to wait two months for the appointment which I didn't mind because I understand all the covid restrictions, but finally they did call me and have an appointment for me, I went to the office and filled all the paperwork, the agent took my old card and said that I was gonna get the new card in two weeks. We'll, nightmare start... I wait 6 weeks I didn't get it, after many phone calls, I finally have an agent that was able to get me another appointment to visit the same office in Patchogue because wherever they made it didn't go through, I arrived to my second appointment and I was not on list, the officer send me back home, and had to take a day off for not reason. I been calling ever sense, every time I call a different person pick up and I had to tell the same history, and then they say that a supervisor will call me back which never happens. What's going on with this people!!!!

Pretend they never talked to you. Then send the same letter over and over again; pretending you never called them.

Pre-CIVID-19, I had to wait..... and wait......and wait.......no drinks allowed, not even water. No appointments were made; nothing! I felt like a prisoner amidst the sea of miserable people sitting glassy eyedin the waiting room. At least now you can submit applications online, and get quick questions answered by phone, so thatu2019s a good thing. I hope that when the Office does open up again they donu2019t treat customers with disdain, like before.

Patchogue office doesn't allow you in. Forced to give them your original documents and then do not get them returned you. You call for them and they tell you nonchalantly to call the post office. Not a care at all, just oh well attitude.

Dealt with this office first time in 2007. The experience was a nightmare. More recently, now that I've retired, I went there for my appointment arranged over he phone and was more than impressed! My wait time was less than 10 minutes. Issues I overlooked were brought up by my interviewer and I walked out the door feeling great! Newly retired, my bank account received the deposit in 3 days! My Medicare ID was in my mail box within a week.nI returned to resolve my son's benefit and that went as easily.nMy wife retires in two weeks. No longer fearthe big bad wolf. This location is staffed with the friendliest government employees I've ever met!

I went to this office and it was a packed mess. I understand these offices can be busy but I was a little annoyed by them telling us how busy it was every couple of minutes over the loud speaker . They seemed to be more concerned about complaining than working.nWhen I was called up the blonde haired woman at window 1 was an example of a federal employee. She kept dismissing me and telling me how busy it is at nauseam. She also kept saying there is a lot here and she kept shutting me down even thought I had to fixed this problem myself weeks ago at no fault of my own. This woman wanting no part in listening to me or finding out why I have been delayed so long and havenu2019t received any benefit yet, Just saying to me sir Iu2019m checking itu2019s busy here. So she told me itu2019s pending and thatu2019s it. She gave me a time frame of six months, talk about vague. She could have sent me to someone that can make a simple phone call to find out whatu2019s happening.nShe was more concerned about dismissing people and clearing her workload by the easiest means possible.nThis office is the perfect reason to privatize some federal agencies. Because if they did, half of these employees would be terminated. Many people employed on the state or federal level work As little as possible as by todayu2019s encounter. I left there knowing exactly what I knew walking in.nWith that being said, i found that they were useless whining adults that cried at doing there job. They are a disgrace and should be transferred to a place where they donu2019t interact with people, or either retrained and if that doesnu2019t work, fire them.nI wish I never have to go back to that office but thatu2019s not the case.

Guy hangs up on you when you're in the middle of talking asking a question and has a little b**** attitude. He needs to be fired and take the poison shots

Very well managed place! It was packed when I arrived. I took a number and was called for prescreening within 15'. After another 20' or so I was called in. The person that handled my case was friendly and courteousnand helped with all my issues and questions. Out in less than an hour.nWell done folks!

From the start of getting a ticket it was a three hour and some minutes wait to conclude what was necessary for the day. There remains unfinished business, of course for another time. The experience was not unpleasing but it may be helpful to bring a book. Plently of seating are avilable, people are called at a reasonable pace. The staff treated me well, took their time to address my circumstances listening and answering. I was provided clear instruction how to proceed, no major gripes.

In & out in 20 minutes. I had no appointment, office was stuffed! Staff very pleasant, knowledgeable, extremely helpful. Told me I would get my documents in 7-10 business days, & I got them in 4!! WooHoo! THANKS!

Agreed on little bit wait time but that's at every government office. For me, it was about 30 mins. Staff I interacted was very helpful. I went on a Monday to get my new SSN card with my new name and I was asked if I knew about e-verify and if I got any docs from my employer? I answered accordingly and that was it. I got a letter of acknowledgement and my NEW SSN card by Saturday. Isn't it awesome? Whole process lasted for less than a week.

Sorry to relate the facts in this way but this place is so unorganized that for one simple quick question you have to wait hours or all day. And behind thise glass fortified windows they sit playing around relaxing as if on a vacation. This is just another Greyhound bus stop. All similarities in it except that you will not be riding a bus but a chair or lobby for hours of tiresome ride. You cannot get anything answered by phone and must come to this place even if you have no legs or cannot even walk to your sofa in your own house but you must show up here at any cost. Isn't it the greatest ever human rights advocacy planted !

This office at 75 Oak is nothandicap friendly ! There are people coming in with disabilities and there is no convenience for them. If you don't come with someone its horrible! From the parking lot there should be an entrance into the office. Give someone a job to take information as to why your there. When it's your turn the counter should be that your able to sit and talk to a representative, when you have a bad back , bad knees and disableda seat would be helpful !! On the plus side the rep that I spoke was very nice and the security guard was friendly to people that came in contact with him.

One of the busiest place for the people of united states. Immigrants coming from other countries will have to come and apply for the SSN. New immigrants should come to this office for applying the SSN after at least two weeks. Three weeks would be the perfect time to go there. Expect wait time. It can take anywhere from 1 to 3 hours all together.
    D Michelle Mojica Brown
The wait has only been 1.5 hours when I walked out. Staff is rude. They don't give receipts for items dropped off. Staff are rude, curt, and give misinformation frequently. Given the opportunity, better and faster to go to West Babylon. Out faster and things get done correctly.

I waited about two hours before going into to meet Mrs Kiszenik who treated us so nice and helped to answer and questions we had regarding my daughters social security. I have read some people having nightmares going here but for my wife and I Mrs Kiszenik made the process simple and easy. Mrs Kiszenick really cares about her job and helping people.

The representatives with the exception of Mr Parks and Mr. Erden are very nasty. They hang up on you. This is no way to treat the public!!!
