Horrible customer service. They pick up and phone so itu2019s completed on their end and completely ignore whatever you say and remain silent. They stayed on call with me and I heard breathing and someone obviously there on the other side of the line but completely and rudely ignoring the entirety on what I was saying. Absolutely 0 words exchanged besides my own which were ignored while the person on the other end was making chewing noises and typing noises. Absolutely unbelievable. This isnu2019t the first time, this occurs every time I try to call them.

I'm absolutely afraid into going into this office. These associates in my opinion are organized criminals that hide behind the government. I've already filed a complaint with the Office of the Inspector General and looking for a higher authority to investigate my account.

If i could leave minus stars i would. Been trying to call since December to change my address and obtain awards letter for city voucher renewal. I could lose my apartment. NO ONE EVER ANSWERS. I cant do online bc im locked out ( 4got password and a new 1 mailed didnt work). Why so many complaints and nothing has been done. What do they do there? The (non) workers are playing with peoples lives. Very depressed and dont know what to do smh

Needs better management over the phone reps and system. Also need to do a better job organizing prompts and ensuring reps are doing their jobs.nnThe telephone intro is unecessarily convoluted (I think the shortcut to speak to a person is 2, then 0), and it should give an idea of how long the hold times are so customers can decide whether to hold on or call back later. Also, repeat the phone number for the SS Fraud.nnTo make matters worse, although the recording says calls are recorded for training and courtesy, reps seem to mute calls then route them back into the queue. Happened at least 12x, while on hold for almost 20 mins. The clincher, my call was automaticly disconnected at the 20 min mark (for long wait times).

This has got to be the best social security office you can call. You don't have to wait long for them to pick up the phone, Their representatives know the rules better than the ones at the general number and do everything quickly and efficiently and answer all questions. Wish all government offices were like you.

During the pandemic I needed to apply for Medicare part B. I called the office a few times and spoke to the most pleasant and helpful women. I never waited more than a minute or two for someone to answer my call. Dealing with this office during this hard time was a wonderful experience. Keep up the good work.

I hate it so much here at the midtown social security office. They hang up on me, staff keep telling me my case is drag for a long time as if to spite me ... they're very disorganized. They may need to realize that their donut and coffee can wait a few minutes. Or go back watching Maury, I don't know.

Unprofessional, idiotic staff. Worst in the world, hope they all get fired.

I have been calling the # to this location since last week, and each time I think I am about to get serviced by a representative, they play on the phone! I can hear them in the background, and they never did address who they are nor did I get the opportunity to speak with anyone. Something has to be done regarding this matter. The only thing I want and need is another copy of my social security card.

I would love to give a negative zero stars especially for the agency workers, but thatu2019s not a option! They need to learn how to be more professional and communicate better to us. There two security guards in the building. The Older security guard very welcoming and willing to help you check in. Goes beyond his job to help you. His more then just a security guard. His like a customer service rep as well! Second security guards seat down at the desk and does nothing but play with his phone half of time. When he does help he is extremely rude and lazy. For a government agent office. It should always feel welcoming from all. If you walking in be prepared to wait for over 2 hrs!.

That awkward moment when you wait 3 hours for your number to be called, after being told to go to your nearest Social Security office to update your citizenship status on file.nnu201cWe donu2019t do that here.u201dnnConvenient that they have a stack of flyers directing people to different offices. Other people (with other issues) have been leaving the office without being seen, as well as leaving the place in tears.nnTruly bureaucracy at its worst.

I went to this Social Security office location early in the morning several years ago. In fact, i got there around 8:45 AM. Here i am sitting there waiting and expecting to wait forever and a day, since that's what most Social Security offices make you do, but in this location, i only waiting 15 minutes for the woman to show up behind the window. I requested an application from her and she wasted no time giving the application to me. I was in and out fast. Now that i think about it, maybe i should come to this location more often. :)

There is no way on earth to make an appointment with a human for this location. The phone number gets you a recording that tells you to call between 7 am and 7 pm M-F, even though you're calling during those hours. There is nothing on the website to get you through to someone who can set up an appointment for you. Everything directs you to the phone number, which tells you to call back between 7 am and 7 pm M-F, even though you're calling at 9:10 on a Wednesday. It is possible they're in a different time zone, for example, Guam. That would explain everything, because they don't actually tell you the time zone.

They only process retirement benefits here (no name change or any other services). Thought I'd save someone the time not making the same mistake getting all the way there just to be pointed to the 123 William Street location. Their website says you can take it to any SSA office which is misleading.

Utterly ridiculous? Refused to hand over basic forms that can be found online becausethe claimant had to come in personeven though they said over the phone that it would be fine to send someone else. Whoever answers the phone is a professional, but the women at the windows are all terrible and don't know their own policies.
