The place is a nightmare. I had to call the place 3 times and each time they couldnt or I should say wouldn't help me each time they were rude and acted like I was bothering them. When I asked the one person who was being rude and nasty to transfer me She said no and told me not to call there. The problem is its do to an overpayment that they took from me twice and its your local office that had to help not the universal number (1213) that they told me to call. I couldnt even get the local office to set up an interview. So I called the 1213 and the set the appointment. Which wont be till end of may meantime the second overpayment they took was basically my whole check of april with little notice before hand received letter week b4 they took the money and took me over a week to get thru ti them and they couldnt even help me. Very bad customer service and not very well informed on the right procedure. It's a shame.

This is the worst social security office ever. I wanted to get a replacement card for my newborn which they mailed the fist one to the wrong address to begin with but they refused to give me an appointment.nnThe first agent I spoke with did not give me the proper directive on how to get a new replacement card by mail and the second one is telling about a policy that is not listed anywhere on their website. I would have given then a -5 stars review if I had the option

I spent 30 minutes on hold. When the representative finally answered I explained to him that an employment candidate of ours had lost his SS Card and needed an emergency appointment to come in and obtain a new card. The rep told me only people under 12 may have an appt. This is ABSURD! There is a man who is trying to be employed with us and he's lost his SS Card. The government regulations will not allow us to employ him without proper ID, and the Gov regulation will not allow him to obtain a replacement because he's over the age of 12! This is your tax money hard at work! When I asked for special consideration in light of the current situation the rep hung up on me. What garbage staff do we have working for US!

My experience and my Mother's experience dealing with this office are always great! My mother who does not speak english always speak with the same person Ms. Henrique and she is not even her case worker. She says she always make her feel at ease and always explain everything to her and more. Every one in this office are very helpful and always answer our calls. I always speak with Ms. Brooks and she is always very kind and detailed.

Grateful. Extremely grateful. With COVID protocols in place, the guidance we received via phone, appointment to drop off docs, security guys top notch! 2nd time here - itu2019s easy to not realize via google map/instructions that the building is back behind The SUNY building on Broadway. Saw a few confused folks out front looking lost. Hope this helps if you have a appointment for any reason. Start to finish - kind, professional folks A++++

Went with my mom to change her benefit status to widowed. We called Social Security after waiting forty minutes to speak to a representative who told us which documents we needed to bring. This particular location is a little tricky to find. It's in the middle of the plaza across from the parking lot (which we couldn't find).nnOnce inside, the waiting area is small and uncomfortable and can feel cramped with lots of other people there if it's busy. A security guard instructed us to use a self-service kiosk to check in. Then we waited to speak to a Customer Service Representative. Then the CSR instructed us to wait until our name was called to see a Claims Specialist. We waited about thirty minutes. The Claims Specialist identified our issue and after verifying our documents gave us the correct form to fill out to resolve our issue. I don't remember exactly how long it took for them to process the benefit change but overall the experience was good and not as bad as the DMV!

Just completed inquiry on my daughters benefits forthcoming- the representative on phone was at first courteous. However when i needed to ask just ONE question she became abrupt and rude. It was such a poor representation coming from social security Coming from a medical background i found that there is a real deficit in how public relations are handled. Very very disappointing.

I have completed almost a year of not resolving my case, of a retroactive that I do not even understand the reason, why the delay to resolve it visited the office more than 10 times where I can not find answers or solution .... I call another office , where they tell me that they are not responsible for resolving my case ... But it is the office itself that is supposed to be a RESOLVE .... and they remain stunned because all the people with whom I have not resolved the case They told me the same thing, which is a case for them to have already solved ... my friend who is a lawyer and does not charge me anything wants to take the case I have also been told to call a TV channel that takes those cases to Help the citizen ... I will make my last attempt if I do not resolve, we will take the corresponding measures My name is Virgen Gu00f3mez and my father u00c1ngel Gu00f3mez Ortiz.
