Trying to change my name back to my maiden name. Due to covid I cannot make an appointment and everything has to be done through mail. I called and asked what I need, sent in my application and was denied for not having proper documentation (AFTER being told what to provide). Aggravating, but I called back and asked again what I need. Was told everything I needed and was also told to send in a copy of my drivers license. Again, I send in my application and the documentation, was denied because they canu2019t take copies of identification. So what now? Iu2019m supposed to send in my only form of identification through the mail? Completely ridiculous. Wish I could just make an appointment and be seen in person!! ud83eudd2cud83eudd2cud83eudd2c

Most worthless place on earth what do they even get paid for? Office is open one day a week and then they tell you a copy of your old id and the interim id and an insurance card plus a copy of your ss number arent enough proof to get a replacement. Seriously what is this office even open for? It definitely isn't worth the taxes.

I highly recommend making an appointment or arriving as soon as it opens! In fact check on the website & hope you can get what you need from there.nDepending on the amount of people waiting, how many people are working (2-3 usually) it can be a LONG wait and there is a NO PHONE policy so bring a book! There are some staff that are quick & others that sit & chat with people, smh. Unless youre going for a quick resolution staff are not helpful at all! In fact they even recommended that I lie on my application and tend not to give a straight forward answer. Rediculous!
