Like everyone elseu2019s experience with this place during the pandemic, I called nearly every day for months just to stay on the line for 2-3 hrs and then get the call dropped. Maybe they changed something in the new year because I called again earlier this month and someone answered within 15 minutes. The one who answered told me that I could get a replacement card by mailing in my application and documents (I have very limited documents compared to most people so I really tried to get an appointment but they refuse to give appointments for replacement cards, no exceptions). So I mailed my application last week, got it back with no replacement card. Just my application (crumpled and very ripped by the way) and my other documentation with NO explanation as to what I did wrong with the application, if anything. Donu2019t bother trying to get a replacement social security card here, itu2019s literally impossible.

I had a horrible experience calling several local offices 1866-.. phone numbers - they were always busy! I decided to stop by this office near 161st in the Bronx and I'm sooo glad I did. Typically, you need to reserve an appointment so there's a chance you could be turn away! I brought my filled out application for the service I needed and the proper documentation for proof. The security guard in the lobby was friendly and the one by the office entrance was very patient and not under stress since there wasn't a large crowd. That helped a lot! The lady at the window was very professional and took care of me without a problem. Good luck to you and BE PREPARED before you go.

The secretaries NEVER answer these phones NEVER its not right. They will turn the phone down or put u on hold for over an hour. They never ever pick up they will have u listen to a busy signal or silence. The secretaries are mean and they dont like to assist by phone. Not good at all. When i waited for my hearing to see a judge i noticed how the secretaries would get attitudes when the phones rang and ignored calls or hung up its not right. What are they getting paid for?? To be mean and grumpy?????

The worse social security officer you go in person they wont accept you and tell you need an appointment. Then you call to make the freaking appointment but no body never picks up the phones and if they do they will wait for them to hear your voice and then cut the phone call.

To make an appointment try to called at least 10 time every day after 2 weeks got one person. In my life I donu2019t have bad experiences like that. And also in this 2 weeks got 3 persons 2 time man and 1 time woman, I guess the man was the same person and both of them was super bad.nI think they need to replace by security.

Hi, Iu2019ve been trying to make an appointment for this Bronx location, for months. I need a replacement social security card. I know itu2019s only by appointments, so I have been patient, and respectful. The representatives, keep Directing me on a endless cycle of wrong numbers, in which I then, I give up. Worst place in the world, I went to apply for the social security and filled out all the documents, the person who assisted me on the offices told me that all documents were fine and that the social security supposed to be delivered in 7-10 days, after 3 weeks I called and they told me that my information is not on the system, they wasted my time and did not check the application, THE PERSON WHO ATTENDED ME DID NOT PROVIDED ME ANY RECEIPT NUMBER OR CONFIRMATION ABOUT THE CARD, IF YOU GO ASK FOR IT, BECAUSE THEY ARE PLAYING WITH THE PAPER AND NOT DOING THEIR JOB.

The office is still closed to the public, you must make an appointment prior to going there. Itu2019s so difficult to get an appointment. I had to call several times. Sometimes I waited for hours only for the phone to be disconnected and no one picked up. After getting an appointment itu2019s quick and easy I went in and was out within 5mins since I only had to update the information with my social security card.

I have been calling from 2 weeks to get an appointment for social security number but nobody answers the call. When I sent my documents through mail they returned it by saying you need a in office interview appointment, which I'm trying to get but nobody answers the call when somebody did took my call she was very rude and asked me to hold up for hours before hanging up. Just a heads up this is the only place that I know that handles lost social security cards in the Bronx area. It was a little difficult to find if going on #2 train, but once I was pointed in the right direction, it was okay. Got there and filled out form and I was out of the building, quickly.

I donu2019t like their new process over the phone. If they a government building they can set schedule appointments for visitors. Mailing it can be problem to, they can messed up and forget to send back you correct documents. I am go to see how this goes.
