    Although my overall experience with trying to get answers from Social Security was very time consuming, two SS associates in the Paterson, NJ office, Mr. Perez and Ms. Singh, assisted me with professionalism and understanding. Both understood the urgency to have the application reviewed and approved. Mr. Perez set up the interview phone call for 3/21/22 and Ms. Singh called be to conduct the interview to complete the information needed to have the application approved. Ms. Singh also followed up on 3/22/22 tom make sure I was able to access my Medicare number on the My Social Security website so I could proceed with applying for my supplemental insurance for Medicare.nI would like to thank both of them for assisting me in such a professional manner.

    No one answers the phones. Someone got into my mom's online account and changed her direct deposit information. She has no money for March unless someone at this office picks up the phone so I can change it. I dread having to go to this office without an appointment. My mom is unable to walk.If someone would just answer the phone.

    My son's has not received his benefits since May of 2021. It took 4 months to narrow down what documents were needed. First it was just one document which I submitted. Called a week later for a follow up to then be told that more documents were needed. I submitted a second time. I follow up again after that one month later to then be told that there was nothing in the fax. They didn't receive it. I faxed everything over again this time twice just to make sure they get it. I end up following up a 3rd time and this time they have it. I figured ok. My son's benefits are going to be released. NOPE ! This whole ordeal went on from May 2021 to August 2021 just to get that established. Here we are into the new year and nothing. I heard the offices downtown have been up and running again so I will be down there tomorrow with all the document in my folder. The same documents that's been sitting at someones desk for the last 7 months.

    My mom has been trying to call this office for DAYS. No one picks up, I tried calling after the first ring I was hung up on. Why can't you make an appointment online? And why can't you make an appointment in person when NO ONE PICKS UP THE PHONE. RIDICULOUS. Awful service and a backwards system.

    Their system either hangs up after 2 rings or no one ever answers. They don't call when there is an appointment and I'm still waiting for my grandmother's medicaid plan that should've come first for 4 months now. Risking her health.

    If I could post negative stars I would. For the Paterson, NJ location the phone just rings and rings, the automated person hangs up on you sometimes after 30 minutes other times at the 60 minute mark. Complete bureaucratic nonsense that any government agency closed to public as these employees need to be accountable but appear to be getting a pass. It's a disgrace that tax money is being wasted like this.

    I have called three days in a row and have not be able to get anyone. You call, youre put on hold for 30-45 mins then your call is ended. Youre not given the option to set up an appointment online. This is disgraceful and unacceptable service.

    My original application was in 2019 covid slow it down but I was eligible for back benefits last thing was open an account to release the money that was like A year ago still didnu2019t receive anything and no is answering the phone

    The people in this office absolutely not professional at all and at times, they act like they will provide you benefits from their own pockets. I have been asked to send some docs and i was given option to either fax it or mail it and i faxed my docs 3 times and each time i get answers from them after calling more than few times just to get someone telling me oh we didn't receive it. And i would ask please provide me another option to get the docs to you guys and they will say just fax it and i am frustrated with them repeating the same thing. In the mean time i would get mails from them saying please send those docs or your application will be denied. I don't know how to deal with them. I wish they would give me the option to drop the docs in person. If there is a way to give them half star then i would do it. Very very ud83dude1e

    Nobody at the Paterson office picks up the calls. I have been trying to call them for days waiting for hours just to speak to someone about getting an appointment but nobody picks up the calls. I have called them 100 times in last few days but nobody picks up the call and I have to wait hours on the phone. Paterson office is the worst. Please do something regarding this as i am not the only one having to face this issue. There are millions of people living nearby that office. I wish there were negative star ratings I would have been more than happy to give this office one.

    Getting an appointment with them during COVID-19 was a little challenging. I had to tell my store 2 times to the same person over the phone before she got approval for me to make an in-person appointment. After I was approved for an in person appointment I had to tell her my story a 3rd time so she could take notes.nI had to gather a lot of documentation to bring with me, which was annoying, but I understood the need to prove my identity.nI waited 3 weeks for an appointment. Once I got there the appointment was very smooth because I had all the appropriate documentation.nItu2019s never easy to deal with SSA, but thankfully they did give me all the correct information over the phone and I arrived with all the right paperwork that was needed for my case.nIu2019m giving 4 stars because I had to tell my story 3 times on the first call, which was pretty annoying, but otherwise they did their job correctly and Iu2019m satisfied.

    Everyone at this office is rude. They hung up the phone on me twice. I needed to send them original documents via the mail because they don't let anyone inside, and I've been waiting 3 months to get them back. No one can help me. The supervisor wont call me back. I call everyday for someone to help me, and no one knows what they are doing. They keep blaming the pandemic, but its already May. Everything is opening up again. I need those documents back ASAP!

    This office needs reorganize themselves.. First it will be a miracle if you can get someone on the phone.. Second I requested a benefits letter for my mom and after 3 weeks of not receiving it.. I attempted to call for a week straight. NO ANSWER. On hold for 18minutes to then be told from a recording they are busy.. I called the national SS number and received the paper a little over a week later. Then I received the Paterson letter 1 day later. I reside in Paterson and it took a month, maybe more.

    The federal security personnel discriminated against me and even threatened an employee of the SSN office not to talk to me. This is sad. I made a complaint to their manager and he said he will start an investigation. If there are cameras in there, please look at it for April 23rd 2021, time: between 3:16pm to 3:30pm. And Iu2019m a disabled navy veteran. These incidences are very sad.

    My wife sent in paper work to change her name we got back the returned documentation almost 6 months later for them to have spelt her last name wrong. When she called to follow up and get help. They said that it was there mistake but she had to resubmit everything and hope for the best. They had such a terrible attitude.
