If I could give negative stars I would. I have called 5 times to speak to someone about changing my last name on my social security card. I spoke to someone last week by the name of Vanessa and she told me since my marriage was within the last 2 months I could mail it in with a copy of my marriage license and I would be good. Well, I received a letter today back saying I didn't provide correct proof. I called AGAIN to talk to someone and waited on hold for 22 mins and then a recording said no one was available and it hung up on me. I'm on call #2 now. Let's see how this goes. p.s. This is by far the ABSOLUTE WORST service I have ever received. Especially when I asked to make an appointment for in person and Vanessa said I couldn't.

I wish I could give a negative. I had called to notify them of my change in income and the lady I spoke to was not pleasant to speak with. I had started to get anxiety and instead of attempting to help keep the situation calm and remaining calm she started to yell at me and talk down to me. She was less than cordial when I had called back again to give more information even after I had apologized for getting anxious and upset. I get overwhelmed easily in some situations especially when talking to people who automatically are not very cordial in the beginning.

Most of the people that work there are Nice and Helpful, however there are more than a couple that feel that it is ok to yell at people calling with questions about their case. If you can avoid calling I would, because there is nothing you can do if you get one that yells at you. They will just hang up and nobody can find out who it was or prove they were being unprofessional.

I called to apply for Assisstance for mr my son, the lady I talked to ended by accusing me of taking my money out of my bank account to be eligible, and when I told her she doesnu2019t have the right to accuse me without proof she ended yelling at me she didnu2019t let me talk and she said she didnu2019t do it while the whole conversation is recorded! And she put me on hold and left!nIu2019m a human being I donu2019t mind not being eligible for financial assistance but I donu2019t accept to be accused without proof or disrespected!nThe worst employee I ever talked to since I started trying to get help for my son!nAs an employee of the social security administration you have no right to disrespect people or yell at them! Youu2019re there to help people respectfully! And if they arenu2019t eligible all you have to do is say it with respect !

Everytime i call i have to wait 30 min for them to tell meno representatives availablethen they hang up. Okay? So give me my number in line and have someone call? Or let me stay on the line til there is one? Not fair to lose my place.

Over 30 minutes waiting on the phone to shedule an appointment, finally Lindsay organization staff answered the phone and few minutes later hung up the phone. Federal employees on this office are not efficient at all with minimal customer sevices, thats unethical one of the organizations that deserve privatization.

What a joke you should be able to walk in show them your drivers license and get a ss card. But no why ..I don't understand. I answered questions online and it said wasn't the right answers.very very frustrating . If you need one right away. You might as well forget it

I called the social security office and was on hold from 2:50 until 3:57. They close at 4:00. You canu2019t go into the building without an appt. but I canu2019t make an appointment if they donu2019t answer their phones. This is an example of extremely poor customer service for a place of business let alone one that provides important resources for so many people. They should be embarrassed

I literally was waiting to talk to someone for 45 minutes and when someone did eventually pick up we talked for 10 minutes and then all of a sudden the call went silent

One of the best offices in Nebraska, for real.nI tried with other offices (like Grand Island) and they were pretty rude, they just hang off the phone. The lady and security office in this office are polite and nice with everyone.
    Daniela Beasley
Social security agent was very nice and fast. The reason why I give it 1 star out of 5 stars is because of the security officers in the building. Rude, disrespectful, mean and makes you feel very unwelcome entering the building.

I wish there were ZERO star. Worst place and employee ever. Waste people time. I called at 3:00 today and I talked to 3 of them, two of them cut my call intentionally and I had to call again. The third lady didn't help, she said she will put me on hold and then l never come back until it was 4:00 o'clock. When I called for the fourth time the office was close then.
    Erica Bell
I only waited 3 minutes on the phone, and the person I spoke to was very nice. I visited the actual office following day at 9am, there were 7 people in front of me and I waited 20 minutes. I found people who work there are friendly and informative.

Got an attitude from the lady I talked to and she tried to compare the earliest appointment date to a dentist or doctors or the DMV.

Have tried for weeks to call for birth certificate renewal but sit on hold the whole time. Also am running into a deadline in which I need it, so ultimately they are just a waste of time.
    Kathy Smith
Had an impossible time getting through the automated system. None of the options pertained to my call. Sat on hold for over an hour. Approx 10 minutes before the office closed the call went straight to their survey and hung up! Wish I could give zero stars but had to give one before it would let me leave a review!!

Impossible to get a hold of anyone on the phone from social security. All wait time is an hour. How rediculous is that?

    1. Other less important agencies tell you how long your wait is or where you are at in the queue. I don’t mind waiting if I know there is hope of speaking with someone in.a particular amount of time. If I don’t have time to wait its my choice to hangup. Also, WHY can’t a person call a number JUST to make an appointment? For a government agency that we tax payers support, the online and phone services need to be improved drastically! Also, it seems the phone connection works just fine while a person.is waiting, but then when you finally reach an agent there are all sorts of issues, like dropped calls poor reception? And PLEASE change the ridiculous music. Pick a local radio station or a play list from a music app! C’mon man. SSA can and should do a better job!
