My husband passed away 2 days before his last SS check came in! They put it in then removed it by noon! I called, waited an hour and 45 minutes to get a person to talk too! Finally a person, told them my concerns! They did send me forms to fill and send back with original death certificate, they said nothing will be done until they get those documents! After me explaining all concerns and info, all I got was for a phone interview to be on Jan 28th! Didn't I already give all of that info? Jan 28th came and phone never rang but a message saying you missed your call! Call SS to reschedule another appointment! Again a wait for an hour and a half, again I went thru the same conversation! They can't help me but set up another phone interview for March 7th! Phone rang and on 2nd ring I said hello! They hung up! They called 3 more times after a message sent they they would call in 5-10 minutes! Each time I answered on second ring, they hung up on me! I called the number back, on red try, the operator said it was not a good number! All of this for $255 and MAYBE a partial SS last check for my husband! Pathetic! Is this how this works?

It took 14 tries to get through over 4 hours, once I did though the woman was incredibly nice and helpful and helped me setup an appointment that would work for me.nJust keep trying if you can't get through.

My purse was stolen, and I needed to report my SSN card stolen. I waited on hold for over 30 minutes. After 30 minutes they finally picked up the phone, didnu2019t say a word and just left me in silence. I continued to wait, and they hung up without saying a word. I called a second time, some one finally picked up, and her answer to me was, u201cGoogle it.u201d I told her they needed to work on their customer service. She said, u201cWell you can contact your state rep for that.u201d There is no excuse for treating people that horribly. If a person canu2019t communicate with human beings, they shouldnu2019t work in a customer service position.

They sent my sons social security card to the wrong address with all of his information so that somebody could use it. I have copies of the original documents with the correct address on them so it was indeed the office that messed up. Not only that I called multiple times to try to get his card because the office was shut down and they didnu2019t answer or call back and I had to wait to file taxes and now I still havenu2019t gotten anything back I swear to god if itu2019s not going through because whoever they sent my sons card to is pulling a scam then I will sue I donu2019t care if I go broke paying a lawyer I will sue. All of the government offices are so messed up. They think itu2019s ok to not call people back and wait 12 months to give me my sons social security number!!! This is not the way any business should be ran!!! especially not a government one. Hopefully these people straighten out their priorities or they are gunna have a lot of lawsuits on their hands. They had no right to not give me MY sons social security number.

Called, had the usual recorded COVID-19 information update, and then was connected to a very friendly and professional agent named Wendy. Answered all of my questions and the entire process took less than 5 minutes. Looking at the 1 star reviews, I have to wonder if those people may be the problem. My experience was nothing but positive.

This office is ran by some of the most caring and empathetic people I have ever met. I was once the Guard that worked there and I know for a fact that these people care dearly for everyone. They are people though. If you come in with an attitude, or are overly disrespectful, of course you will be handled with the same respect you give the agents. This is a Federal office in a small town and people need to remember that it is the ONLY SSA office in the entire county and it also handles overflow from other counties as well.nIf you really want to appreciate the Union SSA office, go to the office on Delmar or on 16th st. in the City. After one experience there you will bring flowers and candy to our awesome agents in Union MO.

I went there to replace my card, had to wait about 15 minutes before I got to go up. Since I had all my required documents with me it didn't take long for them to get me new one ordered and mailed to my house within a week. It would be nice if they had extra people working in the offices but overall not a bad place.

Sure there will be a wait because you ARE NOT the only person on SSI. Staff are friendly even being overworked. Try to think of how many times they are disrespected everyday. They are just doing a job. Complain to your Senators and Representatives. They make the laws and make the budget.

Welcome to hell. Oh wait. You thought I was reviewing the License Office? It's close but it doesn't hold a candle to the Social Security Office. You must bring in your birth certified, driver license, paycheck stub, proof of residency, tax returns and your first born child just to get a new social security card (ok, I'm just being cute .. you don't really have to have all that garbage, but man )! And trust me .. NOBODY wants my identity. They'd take it for a couple of days and try to give it right back ! So you bring in the documents you do need and then you .. WAIT .. and .. WAIT .. omigoodness .. you WAIT !
