I completed the application online for changing the information on my card and just needed to show my documentation. I didnu2019t have an appointment and I was here around 3:15 on a Friday afternoon. I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. I interacted with 3 different employees and they were each very kind and helpful!

I can't seem to get through to anyone. I call and I just get a busy tone. The two times I have been able to get to the automated system and then finally ringing, the call just goes silent after 2-3 rings and then absolutely nothing. It's time to open your doors now.... it have been 2 years now.

Waited on hold for over 30 minutes only to get hung up on. Not only once but several time. Customer service is awful.

Apparently, the stupid building has been closed for two years, drove all the way from excelsior, not a great drive for my car... So that they could tell me that I had to mail my application to this location. Very upset. It'd be nice if that could be posted somewhere or something ud83eudd2c

This is the absolute worst place ever!! I called several days before to reschedule an appointment and then they call today 6 minutes late and I went outside this morning while at work because my work let me even though they needed me. My job although temporary has been amazing to me. But this social security company here is horrible. Donu2019t call these people call other people from social security because this place is not worth your time. I have a few minor health issues and if I lose these benefits now I will never be able to get surgery done for needs and Iu2019ll be hurting til I have enough money saved up. I also have a family to take care of and the pain I face daily slows me down and I am only 30

As others have said, I'd rate this zero if I could. Website seems helpful until you actually try to follow the information there. Tells me the office is open by appointment only and to call and make said appointment. Is the phone line ever not busy?! I guess I shouldn't be surprised. The phrasegood enough for government workexists for a reason. Will I ever get to change my name? So unacceptable and ridiculous.

Husband has been on hold for a hour. Finally transfered to the offices just for the phone to continuously ring for another 39 +minutes. Why have no contact if nobody is there to answer the phones.

Ridiculous that this isnu2019t open to the public. Somehow SS started giving me my old married name from 12 years ago. Told me I had to submit a name change (even though it was done 12 years ago). Have sent in my license, divorce decree and passport (all with my maiden name) THREE TIMES and every time I get a new social security card with the OLD MARRIED NAME. What is wrong with you people?!

Once again our government is failing us. It's nearly impossible to get this office to answer their phone. And when they do they're rude.
    April Martin
If I could rate it a zero I would!!! Horrible customer service, canu2019t get a straight answer from any one. Makes it nearly impossible for kids under 18 to get a card, and when itu2019s denied they give no explanation on what was missing. I call 3 different times before I got an answer. Only because I made him dig a little bit then he blamed me for not knowing and compared it to a bank robbery!! Canu2019t even go into the office to get a replacement card and blamed it on Covid! Well all the other government agencies are open they should be too!!

Needed a replacement ss card for my daughter been struggling with these people since MARCH, mailing in papers keep getting told its gotta be via snail mail nothing else. Told waiting for paperwork back could be 6 to 8 business weeks AND here we are in October still no card and when I call about it they say hmm... maybe it's still processing or I got told it was mailed out but still I haven't received anything call again and they say they don't have anything under mine or my daughters name?!?! Get your stuff together people.

Very friendly service, direct to the point help, in my experience people match the tone of the people they're talking to. Take one star reviews with a grain of salt because upset people tend to leave bad reviews. The employees at this place should not be held responsible for someone's bad day

Everything went great and they were very helpful. Thanks

Can't never get in by phone had appointments never got that call back
    Stephanie Kjenaas
Wish I got her name but the coustmer service rep was super rude on the phone they shouldn't be working for them
    kimberley young
Absolute joke! I gave been trying to get new SS# for the boys I have adopted for almost 6 months. Nobody will answer the phone and leaving a message is not an option. This is a perfect example of WHY limited government is best, can't even provide BASIC functions.
    Danielle Orr
If I could leave zero stars I would because these are the rudest and most unhelpful people there are. I have had different people tell me different things about what I need for a name change and I canu2019t get an appointment to correct this stuff with someone(even though the recorded memo says you can meet in person by appointment only). I tried calling again and figuring out what Iu2019m supposed to do but yet again another useless employee who hung up on me as soon as the clock hit 4pm for closing time. Absolutely ridiculous!
    Phoenix Maschler
They spelled my first name wrong on my ssc and we where putting a request for my last name and I never got my card. My family was changing their last name and never got there legal documents back that they had us mail. I wish this was in person cause this is to much of a hassle, not getting our documents, spelling our names wrong, and takes a very long time.
    Amanda Osbourne
Absolutely the worst customer service ever! I was told I had to mail my driver's license and marriage license to them to get my name changed (real documents not copies ) so I did the guy on the phone was absolutely hateful when I spoke with him. Right from the start he acted annoyed like he had better things to do. I asked if when they mailed it back they could provide a receipt of the transaction so I could get it to my insurance company. He stated that I would just need to put a not in letting them know. I finally got my documents back and no receipt! Now I have to wait longer! So unprofessional. Plenty of people need jobs right now and these fools are acting like they are too good for the ones they have.

This is terrible, Iu2019ve been trying for 2 months now!! To get my SS, they keep sending my papers back when I have everything!
    Carolyn sarratt-meyer
I have been trying since August to get a new/replacement ss card. I need it to be Tricare health insurance. I guess [from reading the reviews] what the hold up is is I am suppose to send them my actual Drivers license? Does anyone else have a problem with that? I haven't been pulled over for many years but why tempt fate? The lady on the phone was not rude so I won't say that was the issue but I need this insurance badly and still waiting.

I want to apply for the first social security number.nMy local office (3520 S NOLAND RD STE C INDEPENDENCE, MO 64055) does not answer the phone. How do I contact them? I am applying for a social number for the first time. Please explain in detail how I should do it. May everyone be healthy in difficult times. Thank you. * Because I have to work for my family.
    Stephenie Nodwell
They lost my marriage license in the mail. No one answers calls! They r refuse to make me an appointment so they can make copies of my personal information. Now my personal information is lost in the mail for anyone to use. Very in professional.
    Amber Noor
This is ridiculous that the Social Security offices are closed when there are SO MANY people that need their s.s cards fixed new ones or to get a social security card for the first time. How long will it take to hear from someone to get an appointment to get a social security number for the first time??
    Robert Alsup
I'm shocked at the crummy reviews. Every time I have needed anything I get straight answers from knowledgeable people fast. I have been working with this office for several years and have nothing but good things to say about everyone, including the security guard. However, it is vital that you have the CORRECT PAPERWORK for what you need done.
    Desiree Steuber
Very poor customer service. Told me inaccurate information, never sent my new social security card, and never notified me that after reviewing my material I would need to send additional documents. The guy I spoke too was very unfriendly. Poor and sad service to the community members.
    Charles Perkins
The gentleman who has been security there for quite awhile is great. He is friendly and helpful. He does his job with a good attitude.nThe SS workers at this location can be a mixed bag for sure.nThe worker who helped me on my last visit was worth their weight in gold. Some of the workers seem to do their job in an adequate manner. Other SS workers I have dealt with at the Noland location have been unpleasant, unhelpful, unkind and downright arguementative.nI know the job has to be really really repetitive and I'm quite sure they run across all kinds of personalities, good and not so good. Despite that, I go to the SS Noland location for help and info. When we come in that door we should be afforded the right to be treated as humans at the very least. We should not be talked down to, made fun of ( this has actually happened to me ) or made to be felt bad or ashamed at our circumstances.nThank you
    Matt Huffman
No one answers the phone. On hold telling us to go to website but website says we need an appointment and to call then the phone number. It's a feedback loop. It's absurd.

This location is closed. But website says there open. Waste of time driving down here. If your closed state it on the website!!!!
