Worst phone service experience of my life. This is what our tax dollars pay for, rude keyboard warriors that are in charge if some of our most important documentations. Everywhere else is open for business, the rest of us have to risk covid everyday but they still won't open there doors and I haven't been able to get a single thing done for myself or my wife since the pandemic. This administration is a joke a the american taxpayers deserve better.

The office door says open from 9-4:00, but they are not open at all. I have to drive a hour south to a alternative office, to get a replacement card for my daughter.

Hit or miss. Today, 1.20.22, all calls are being disconnected after you listen to the message that has nothing to do with your call.

Very disappointed with the intimidating staff over the phone... with misleading information and no way to make an in person appointment, even though I was told I could by an agent a week ago... they are sooo angry and not helpful and being an at home phone warrior doesn't help the people that need help.

Called the Traverse City Field Office regarding my elderly father's case. My call was answered by Paula. Within the first 20 seconds, she became belligerent toward me for no apparent reason and asked about 10 personal identifying questions before she told me she couldn't help. Totally worthless type of person. She forgets taxpayers like my dad pay for her salary. People like Paula should not work in these type of jobs. She probably started working at the SS Field Office doing janitorial services and now she is on her way to retire- she is flustered that she still has years to deals with people's problem. You need to leave Paula and let someone more deserving of your job take over.

I see Diana. She is amazing. Quick responses to next in line normally, I've seen a woman teach her son that it's okay to yell at the staff there for things they can't control and they were friendly and polite regardless their disrespect. I don't like to use the toll free # it takes over an hour to get to anyone on a SLOW day. I've been on hold for 3 hours before. Please note that the # provided is not the # to the actual local office before rating the office in specific.

Service was fast, but the attendant was extremely rude. Basically ayou're SOLkind of attitude. I don't care if I have to drive another 20 minutes away to the next SS office. I'm not dealing with the tattooed jerk of a worker, ever again. If you're not good with people, perhaps a career in public service is not for you.

I met with Diana on February 5, 2019. I was astounded at how helpful, knowledgeable and caring she is. Customer service like she provides is unheard of today. She is incredible.

I went in expecting it to be similar to a visit to the Secretary of State office, but instead I was pleasantly surprised. The staff was friendly and answered all of my questions, and I only had a short wait (about 5 minutes). Great service.

I came in here for a name change after I got married and it was so quick, the lady at the counter was a gem and I really hope that everyone has the same experience as me.

Horrible phone service! 55 mins on hold just to talk to a person that must be having a bad day, I had questions to be answered and she kept telling me to go to the local SSO. So annoying, would give zero stars if I could!!

When I visited this office I expected to wait awhile, instead I was in and out within 10 minutes, with my issue solved! Exceptional service, with a friendly staff.

Was accused of being transgender by a level 1 clerk. This created an investigation that drew in Chicago SSA. Ever read about it in the Record Eagle? Ha, yeah right.

Phone service is a joke, you either wait on hold for 20 - 30 minutes or have them call you back 1 hour or more..
