    sincerely, sue
The phone number they provide on google is the basic 1-800 number and after 45 minutes of being on hold, I got tired and drove up. They were, of course, unavailable and it is appointment only if you need anything from them! As I was pulling into the parking lot, someone answered my call (I stayed on hold the entire time lol) and let me know that a name change doesn't require an appointment- i just need to fill out a form and mail with the necessary documents OR drop it in the drop box. They failed to mention what the drop box hours are until I asked them to check it for me, and then they gave me hours that was different from what was posted on the doors...nnNeedless to say, social security offices are seriously struggling, which does not really inspire confidence in our government... added a photo of the front door which is accurate as of 2/18/22 and will be submitting a request for them to update their phone number to their actual kalamazoo office number!

If I could give 0 stars I would. Was hung up on, the guy would not listen to any common sense or reason. This government medicare run program is one more way to seriously hurt seniors and without common sense and competent agents, we are at the mercy of untrained, incompetent people who cannot listen to the facts and make reasonable evaluations. Even if it means financial burdens to seniors.

My husband Eric Crawford passed away August 25, 21 with a short battle with Colon Cancer. He was diagnosed March 25, 21. I filed for his disability on June 24, 21 and received his first payment in July. He then passed Aug. 25 and I filed the next day for spousal benefits and child benefits due to we have a 7 year old child. I am not able to get an appointment until January 14, 2022. I'm sorry but this is unacceptable. I will loose my home by then. My utilities will be disconnected. Please someone help me and the others that are struggling to keep our lives together while loosing a loved one and on top of it we have to worry about receiving what is due to us from the government.nnCindy Crawford

It would be beneficial to have drop box hours posted online or on your doors. I spoke with someone about dropping documents off and was not made aware of the limited drop box hours. I arrived at noon and could not get through the doors to the drop box. I call and am told I cannot drop my items until 1. So now I sit in the parking lot for an hour and waitu2026

Drive an hour to get here only to find out it's by appointment only. Not impressed at all. This should be on website so others know!

Anybody claiming they are fast, friendly, or easy are complete liars. Out of the 10 years I've been dealing with them I have had 2 people actually help me. Even implying a government employee cares is laughable at best. Please stop posting fake reviews!

Wow! The audacity Of Mike to assume that a young lady with disabilities, a 10 month old and no car can make appts in Kalamazoo. I am also my sons patient advocate who is disabled. I can't be in 2 places at once. Very rude

Good service. People are helpful, when you listen to them and ask questions. Hours of operation are not beneficial to first shifters. Otherwise, if a person follows the set rules....their experience should prove beneficial.

Social Security Administration has instituted some policies which saved a lot of waiting in line at the building; there is some waiting in line, but not as much waiting in the waiting room because you can get a benefit letter by using the kiosk now.

Still waiting....... over an hour now and still waiting. I might actually become eligible for social security benefits before we are called just to change my wife's name.
