Having to get my daughters survivors benefits reinstated. Filled out paperwork 3 times and now they said that she filled out the wrong paperwork. The lady that my daughter talked to was holding on to it because she said it was the wrong v paperwork. They didnu2019t call or mail anything h staying it was wrong. Then when we called and talked to them, they hung up. How unprofessional. They are going to owe my daughter a Burt load of money because of their stupidity.

Spoke to someone Wednesday who was absolutely belligerent because I was calling to find out if the paperwork I requested on behalf of my husband was being processed. This is not confidential information but she refused to give me any information until he called with me. So today I got hung up on 4 times and spent a cumulative 45 minutes on hold before finally giving up. Iu2019ll be filing a complaint.

Pretty sad state of affairs this Biden administration has gotten us into. The SSA is pretty much a defunct organization now. Can't get answers and stay on hold for hours. I don't blame the workers; it is the fault of those making the decisions.

98% of the staff are rude as if you are asking about their checks. As if the ssi is coming out of their checks. yall need to get people who actually care and dont have smart mouths. They are here to help us.

I am trying to make appointment with this office, SOMETHING VERY SIMPLE! After waiting hour or so on a Wednesday someone finally answered the phone little after 12 pm and told me please wait and after 20 minutes wait, they hang up! While I was searching to make if there is any other way to make appointment I learned that they closed at 12 pm on Wednesday. So instead of she telling me that they are closed, she had me wait another 20 minutes! I hope someone is reading this message because this is like a joke and needs to be better. Also I am praying for that person to get the same type of treatment for her life long when she needs to make any appointments. Thanks.

Sorry to say. It is what it is. All federal office open why this office not? Made appointment two months ago went for appointment door wonu2019t open. Call that given number wonu2019t respond call. Waiting an hour and call hung up. Iu2019m so tired from this kinda service. People lined up 30degre outside. Canu2019t even go inside.

This office is apparently neither open for walk in services nor is it available for most appointments as most other government offices are and yet they want an ORIGINAL drivers license, passport, proof of doctors office visit with potential HIPAA info on it, health insurance card, or other proof of life identifier dropped off or mailed to them for a legal name change! What the ever loving heck?! No risk for identity theft or increase of anxiety there. Thanks a a lot SSA. What a terrible organization.

I am completely unimpressed with this office. Their drop box is available 4 hours a week. 2-4 Tuesday and Thursday. It's a DROP BOX! It should always be available. The box is inside an airlock which allows one person in at a time. Once inside, you need to fill out an envelope which takes a few minutes. Why not have those envelopes outside in a weather resistant box where more than one person can access it at a time? Better yet, have the box and envelopes available all the time. Certainly they can figure out how to make that secure. Hundreds of thousands of businesses have figured out how to accommodate the public but not the SSA. I've stood in that line with elderly people needing walking assistance and young mothers who left screaming babies in their car, all to wait in the dropbox line. I guess the SSA needs help problem solving. Good luck everyone!

They are NEVER here. I have been here more than 5 times in the past week to drop off documents in the front office and it is always locked. No matter what time it is in the morning or afternoon. I canu2019t figure out if theyu2019re lazy or just negligent. Iu2019m also not sure why any of our taxes go to these people when they donu2019t help anyone. Absolutely the worst.

I had to visit the SSA for a name change after marriage. I dropped off my information in the drop box as they request people to do. I got my information processed and returned to me very fast. I was surprised! Everyone I spoke with was very helpful and thorough. If you pay attention to what is written you should have no issues navigating through your experience here.

The worst place ever. Been trying to change my last name for 2 months and no one answers the phones and no one is ever in the building.. I dont know why Michigan is the only state that still closed due to covid. We the people need our stuff done too even if its not important to you its still something we need done. Open the important business thats needed. 0 stars

I have been calling for almost one and half hour with every call wait time up 15-20 mins. Every time I get connected the representatives doesnu2019t seem to be able help me at all. sometimes they are doing something else and canu2019t even hear me. Whenever I tell them my request they cut the call. The last I specifically asked that please can you help me and I keep being hung up on, her reply was i donu2019t care. Then I said can you please help me make an appointment for social security number, she straight up said try calling someone else.

Tried to reach them in the phone multiple times and was hung up on every single time - had to find out on Google reviews that they even have a dropbox. Why in the world is it only available 2-4 two times a week??? The world may never know.

They won't answer the phone and when they did answer they hung up on me twice. I am reporting this asap! They are the rudest bunch I have ever encountered. I gave one because I couldn't do ZERO!

Horrible office, after being on hold for 20 minutes, was treated like dirt and hung up on TWICE. I was calling with questions I had over a letter I'd gotten from them. Rudest people ever. Only reason I gave 2 stars is the third person I got on the line was wonderful and gave me the information I needed. Still, I went down to drop off the paperwork in the drop slot and found the doors locked several minutes before closing time. Come on, close at four, then close at four! I wasn't trying to get into the lobby, just the entry way. People with jobs need to have reasonable access to this office!

Not my real name. Late by 20 mins on our scheduled month in advance appointment time. Extremely rude on the phone and very confusing with information. They forgot to ask a question and called back, tried to return their call just to get hung up on at 3:58 after waiting on hold, called back again just to get the we are closed message.. very frustrating. With limited options on retirement information, youu2019re forced to deal with this horribly ran office. If you have any other options I would recommend avoiding this place.

This place is horrible they donu2019t answer your calls or help with anything . Iu2019m so disappointed in this place

I have been trying to call all morning with a simple SSI related need and with each call, I have held for over 20 minutes only to have the call suddenly dumped/disconnected. (three times in a row now) Horribly frustrating, it is apparently impossible to get through. I understand the wait times (to an extent), but stop hanging up on phone calls!
    Lauren Resch
The person I spoke with over the phone talked over me the entire time and did not listen to any of my questions without giving some scripted response back. Did not listen to my situation or give me any helpful information. It also seems like thereu2019s a discrepancy on service because someone was giving me much different information on this issue previously. And the breaking point was I literally was hung up on during my conversation. When I called back and spoke with the same person there was no apology for hanging up on me. I am so upset about the service I received today. I usually do not write reviews but I feel compelled to say something. It was not okay. If there was a zero star rating, thatu2019s what I would give.

Beware!!! They will lose your documents and give you the run around. My mother sent her citizenship documents last December and has been getting the runaround since. One rep said they have it and another said they canu2019t find it. They claim this matter was escalated to a Ms. Davis and they would call me back. Itu2019s now May, and no surprise here, but no call back. Your personal information is not safe with them.nnUpdate: received a voicemail from Ms. Davis on May 28 stating they do in fact have our documents. No return number or information on what they are going to do with it. On June 2 we finally received the documents by mail.

No appointments available according to the CS rep I spoke with (even though the automated system states there are),drop boxes not available exeption include 2 hours during the day on Thursdays, have to mail in original documents with hopes that they are returned.

I sent in my application for Medicare part B on November 19th, 2020. I had a window of time that I could do this before being penalized. It is now a month past that deadline. I have never received any indication that they have even received my application. I try to call and I get cut off. I can't go in without an appointment. I called the number on my SS online app and this is the only place I can call. Soooooooooo frustrated!!!!!!
    Claire Sinclaire
National SS Offices said I needed to talk to the local office. When I call, I press that I need to talk to someone, then it disconnects every time. So I wrote a letter to this local office because I canu2019t get ahold of them, not even to make an appointment, but no one called me back. SO FRUSTRATING!!!

They lost my documents. Had to start the process over.nnUpdate (a few weeks later): got ahold of someone and they told me I should fax in my documents. Thought that was weird because I didnu2019t think you could fax legal documents, but they insisted it was ok. Faxed them in. Called that day to make sure they had received them. Yes, they got them. Get a letter in the mail later that week saying they were missing documents. Called them. Explained that I had faxed in my documents. They said they canu2019t receive legal documents through fax. Wut???

I was terrified to send my drivers license in the mail to change my name on my social security card, but they were very reliable. I put my license and documents in the mail November 2nd, received my license back in the mail November 9th, and received my new card November 17th. I was very impressed at the speed that I received my new card. If anyone is reading this who is trying to change your name via mail, I would recommend mailing the documents to this location!

I called earlier and I was transferred 3 times and 2 out of the 3 people I spoke to were rude. They wanted to talk to me with an attitude and seemed to calm down after I got an attitude back. I spoke to them respectfully at first but they wanted to get an attitude with me so i definitely returned the treatment. Horrible customer service. At one point I was put on hold abruptly with no reason at all and just had to wait until someone got back on the phone. The lady who ended up speaking to my mom in Spanish did a horrible job as well, she was talking to her like if she was a nuisance. The workers could use a customer service training, it is most definitely needed for most of the workers here. ud83dude44
