Had a phone appointment and the person never called and I could not get ahold of the them, like my time is not valuable. If money was owed you would quickly take that from a person, but you do not keep to the appointments, that is not good.

I called the office in Michigan today and I asked the lady what I had to do if I wanted to get a job and how many hours I can work without messing with my payments the lady told me that I get 85.00 free but for every 2.00 I make a 1.00 is taken out of my payments .she also told me I could go on the web site so I go on the web site to learn more about it and I see it says NOTHING about the 85.00 etc the web site says for every dollar I make they take .50 out of the dollar so I guess I'll be calling the office back again tomorrow to see what else I can hear that's different maybe the web site is old

After waiting on hold forever after calling a couple other SS phone numbers, decided to call the Battle Creek number. If I had not, I would probably still be holding! Battle Creek number - took me only a prompt or two to be connected with a person - maybe 3 minutes Wish I had gotten her name. Very pleasant and very helpful. Got all the clarification and all the answers I needed quickly. A VERY good experience with our local SS Office. THANK YOU.

Awful customer service, very rude and slow! Also how about adding some business hours?? I know that's asking alot of these people.

OK so don't call the 800 number it shows make sure you get the 877 number that says it's the battle creek office if that's where you would normally go. The lady that answered was very nice and answered the phone within five minutes, compared to the 800 number of the main social security admin that had me on hold for two hours with no response. I need a name change and the lady was able to figure something out for me since you can't do a name change online, or send copies and the office is closed. We went old school mail system since I don't have a printer and the library is closed. I'll get the application in about a week and them I'll need to send my ID and marriage license and they will send it back. If you are on lockdown right now and can't use your drivers license but need a name change this could work for you too. Just it'll take longer but hey you gotta do what you gotta do. Thank-you maam

Keep all of your documents, follow up on all of your letters. They are quick to make huge mistakes, and are slow to fix anything. They will not call you back, and they will not respond to questions unless you come in person to talk. Im sorry for all who is forced to use their services. Dont write them letters... they dont respond. And if you come in, expect a long grueling wait with no answers at the end. If you actually have a life, this place will consume every aspect of it.

I had a positive experience here. I waited 30 minutes with no appointment and received prompt courteous treatment. My questions and concerns were addressed and I received the help I came in for. I overheard people being rude and argumentative with the staff. Iu2019m guessing if you come in there itching for a fight theyu2019ll give you one! It doesnu2019t cost any more to be nice folks.

The security guard here is extremely rude. We arrived at closing time just to drop some documents in the drop box (inside the building). We didn't need to see anyone. The security guard locked the door right in our faces. We asked if he could just take the envelope and drop it in for us, but he refused; said there was a mailbox outside. I would never dream of treating a customer like that! He should be fired, he is a very poor representative for this agency.

There's 2 workers in the entire building aside from the security guard and there's only 1 of the 2 running the windows. What should've been a 10 minute wait has been an hour wait and still counting. There's no more seats so people that are waiting have to stand around the lobby. There's also no signs posted about bringing outside drinks, but I and a few others were made to take our coffees/water back to our vehicle. This place is a joke.

Handicap access, but no handicap parking in a close proximity. Once in side the liine waiting is long and there is no handicap accommodations when waiting in line. For some one like me it was very taxing and uncomfortable. Had to leave the line to find a place to sit. State of Michigan should be more handicap friendly.
