while the offices state that the appointments are scheduled on first come first basis, certainly that is not true. Moreover the staff is rude and unhelpful. Giving one star, since office is at least open. (as good as closed)

This office (on 2nd floor of building) is extremely crowded (with unfortunately talkative people) and has limited daytime hours (see photo and hours listed), so prepare to wait about 2.5 to 3 hours on your average visit. Many of the staff are curt and dismissive, but not all (can't name names while reviewing). Security guard -- and my experience -- confirmed that the line moves faster in the first two hours of the morning and the last 2 hours of the day (i.e., after their lunch). The bathroom is surprisingly decent, given the number of ppl in that place. Worth your while to get on hold with a phone call to Social Security while you're waiting (their phone hold is never less than 1.25 hours).

My disabled mother was treated horribly at the Roxbury Office. She was told she had a 9:00am appointment today for helself and Behalf of my brother who is special needs. She called out of work just to make it to the appointment and was told to have a seat and wait to be called when she let the receptionist know she had a 9:00am appointment. An hour goes by and she still hasnu2019t been called. She lets the receptionist know again then she also spots the guy who made her appointment for her yesterday and they both tried to insult my mothers intelligence by making her feel like she was making things up. They proceeded to make my mother cry. This place needs to rehire new staff. If you are helping people with disabilities you need to hire people with empathy.
