Completely let my child fall through the cracks. was approved for months and not one call or mail. They had no idea who or what I needed sad place I would give 0 stars they have zero knowledge of what anyone is doing even the supervisor was unhelpful and rude sad sad world we need a better system in place for our peoples with needs they act like they don't care because its not them he actually said that to me I asked him what or how he would act if it was his child. His response was its not my child and that set me off. As a supervisor you should put yourself in the persons situation. absolutely outraged with the service and they way I have been treated

My granddaughter is now 9 months and still has no SS card. They said they mailed it when she was born LIE. Then they said you have to do an application on line stating it was lost here she is 9 months and still no SS number which means no Medicaid which means no doctor visits and was told by Medicaid that she was not an emergency to get her shots only the people crossing the boarder was an emergency and would get MEDICAID QUICKER. ud83dude22

My son has been on Disability for several years (Autism) and recently diagnosed with Schizophrenia. He has been expecting to receive backpay since October 21 after receiving a letter from SS. He hasn't received backpay in 2 yrs. We've been told that he needs to speak to Ms. Johnson and we've attempted to reach her multiple times (at least 20). She never returns calls..emails etc. He's owed several thousand dollars and has been in a holding pattern forever. It's ridiculous and all anyone will say is talk to Ms. Johnson.

Don't call them, just go there. The phone call was a 3-hour wait of robot voices and annoying music. It's good that they no longer require appointments. A visit to the office only took me about 15 min.

Would give zero stars if I could.nThis office seems incompetent & inefficient in their work.nWe have visited twice and we were given a number to call to follow up but nobody picks up the phone. It goes straight to voicemail and nobody calls us back. Shame on your office. I feel bad for the elderly who rely on their benefits and do not get the help they need let alone deserve!

Do not go here unless your request is simple. Guy issuing ticket number does not know what he is doing and not very helpful. Go to Camp Springs office they provided the service this office could not.

I have been dealing with them since June and have not had one good experience. Tried setting up my daughter on disability while she was in the hospital and they denied her (which they weren't supposed to because she was in the hospital), then when they finally got it right, they messed up with not sending her stuff over to medicaid. Just got off the phone with them, and she rudely told me I need to talk to social services. All of my daughters social workers have told me that under filing for social security, they will pass everything along to the medicaid office. This is just another worthless government program that we waste our tax dollars on and offer no assistance to us when we actually need it.

I have to praise Mrs./Ms. Koontz (spelling?) in the Charlotte Hall, Maryland office for her outstanding, courtesy, kind and friendly help. She got me taken care of in 5 mins. Thank you!

No one ever answers the phone to schedule an appointment! How am I supposed to complete transactions that require original documents if they don't answer the phone and the security officer won't let you in when you come to the office? This is frustrating!

I am SO grateful to have had the good luck to get Mr, Walker at the Charlotte Hall SS Admin Office on the phone to guide me through setting up my social security benefits. I had literally been trying to reach the Greenbelt, Maryland office for over a week - to no avail. Out of desperation, I called the Charlotte Hall office and Mr. Walker picked up the phone in 3 rings!!! He was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable! Mr. Walker is a credit to the Social Security Administration, and I wanted to take this opportunity to thank him publicly for his outstanding customer service!!!!!

No Stars from me. I have been waiting for a replacement card since 6/9/2021. As of today 9/8/2021 12 weeks later I still don't have a replacement card. Without my card I can't apply for a job. I sent them all the required documents in order to get my new card back on 6/9/2021. My case has been turned over to a Ms. Boseman in the Charlotte Hall Office, who never returns my call and trust me I call weekly for an update and leave a detailed message with my cell number to contact me with an update. In all this time I have yet to receive a call back from her. Someone is apparently not doing their job well. I have been instructed by the staff that does answer they main number that I have to speak with Ms. Boseman, I tell them I'm not getting a call back from her when I do leave a message. The staff that does answer the main number when you call have been very helpful and have been able to provide me with some information. I would give them 5 gold stars for efforts.

Very good experience. Telephone wait time was less than 10 minutes. The customer service rep was very professional, and helpful. Thank you!

Call first, and you'll be fine. Despite the current world situation, this office offered quick, polite, and efficient service. Due to our unusual circumstances, I had to make an appointment and visit in-person. On the call beforehand, It was made very clear what documents were needed, I prepared those, and upon going to the office, we were in and out in a flash.nnI won't give employee names in interest of privacy, but the people who assisted both on-the-phone and in-person were absolutely lovely to work with. The office seems to be following strict policies on masks, gloves, and social distancing to ensure COVID safety, so I was very grateful to that as well. Good show, folks.

Nobody seems to be able to get me to the correct person, left a u201cMrs Reynoldsu201d numerous messages in January and havenu2019t heard back. Their automated system hangs up on me often after speaking with someone who puts me on hold to look into my case, I waste 15-30 minutes on hold to be hung up on and not get a call back. Then I have to start the process over again. Every time I call Iu2019m told a message is sent to the person who needs to deal with my case and Iu2019ll receive notice within 10 business days....I get no notice then call back and start the 10 business days wait all over again. They had zero problem paying my lawyers but canu2019t seem to find the time to legitimately click a button to approve my back pay. Lawyers were paid over 60 days ago. Iu2019d give zero stars if I could, this location is a f-ing joke.

Don't bother showing up to this office.nWent to go get my name changed after getting married. They have limited hours due to the pandemic, so I took a day off from work and drove 45 minutes to go to the office. I showed up and there was a sign on the door saying that they weren't seeing anyone without an appointment, so I called the number on the sign to make one. The employee who picked up told me that they weren't taking any appointments and that the building was closed indefinitely due to the pandemic. She told me to go online and fill out an application, so I asked if the entire process had been moved online now. She said no, I would still need to come back too the office to complete my name change but she didn't know when the office would reopen. So I guess I'm now stuck in name change limbo until they can figure out if and when they're going to actually provide services at this office.

I just called to ask a question about an application I had sent it . I was placed on hold for a few minutes ( only to realize I never was on hold) the lady handling my call was having a whole conversation about non-related work laughing and having a full conversation as if I were never on the phone . I can not wait until the office is open so I can go in person this is absolutely unacceptable. They really need to tighten up itu2019s already a big inconvenience that the office is not open now when you call you have to deal with the unprofessional call center smh .

They almost never answer the phone and when they do they have no knowledge or helpful information.

Cheryl is a gem. Everything else is textbook incompetence. The biggest error is inexperienced personnel giving wrong information or uneducated responses to important questions. If you don't know say you don't know. Stop telling people answers to questions you know are false.

this specific location needs to be reported ! they donu2019t answer the phone at all. they donu2019t return calls ! itu2019s very unprofessional & wrong.

I have spent the last couple of weeks trying to get help enrolling and having all kinds questions about forms, etc. through the National Help Line for SSA.nnToday, because I live in St. Mary's Co, I called Charlotte Hall SSA and believing they only had limited services, I didn't believe I could be helped.nnWell, thank God I called, because Mr. Walker helped me with a pretty complicated issue and I couldn't be happier..AND I didn't sit on hold for 45 mins like I did with the Nat'l 800# without even talking to anyone..nFabulous service!!!!

This SSA office should be commented for the outstanding customer service that I received. I went in to apply for Medicare and was immediately assisted by very knowledgeable representatives. I left with my request to apply for Medicare being taken care of. I live near the SSA Office in Camp Springs, MD, which is 10 minutes from be but had to travel to the Charlotte Hall location (40 minutes) from me in order to complete and process my request. I went twice to SSA in Camp Springs to be told the first time that there was no one to assist me (August 23) and the second time (August 24) the rep said I had to wait until December 1 to apply for Medicare in which my birthday is in November. I was sent away but I called the SSA info line and was told yes I can apply. The SSA office in Camp Springs needs to be revamped and put under capable and knowledgeable employees as well as a competent supervisor. I am sending all my family to the Charlotte Hall for service.

My Charlotte Hall appointment on 6/22/18, was completed in a timely manner, and was professionally handled - clearly and concisely. Just got back from the Charlotte Hall office, and as usual, it was an unpleasant experience. The young receptionist did not appear to know what she was doing, excusing herself about three times to check with her supervisor about a matter concerning my disabled son who is now in a rehab facility. At first when I got there, she said I couldn't be helped, but after presenting documentation from another SSA office and a statement from the rehab facility, she claimed they would contact the rehab facility directly. This took about 20 to 30 minutes; the line behind me grew to about 20 people. This occured between glaring looks from her and questions concerning why I was there. I kept asking canyou help me or not? In the end, I think the matter was resolved, but, it was more painful and time consuming than it should have been. Their attitude down there should be overhauled. I hope my son's medicaid support does not get messed up based on this visit.

This place has THEE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE! The level of unprofessionalism is deplorable. JUST RUDE!

I called twice, checked online, everything available to see whether it was open or when it closed today. Says they're closed on federal holidays, black Friday isn't a federal holiday. Took a forty-five minute drive for no reason apparently.nI'll need to go at some point to get an activation code, here's to seeing if that experience is any better.

I visited the SS office back in the Spring after first making an appointment. I explained why I wanted the appointment and made it in advance, which turned out to be a waste of time. When I got there, they told me I couldn't apply for benefits until the Fall. The ticket machine spit out a weird number to start with, only to be called and told to sit back down, as a result of it.. And one of the people there was extremely rude... Not a good atmosphere at all.

Omg. You have to stand in a line just to get a number. Why canu2019t they just hand out numbers so people can take a seat? If you need to go to the social security office, you probably canu2019t stand for very long. There were only 2 windows open, just to get a number. The guard was friendly and tried to accommodate the best he could. There are signs on the windows of the employees that say u201c Courtesy goes both ways.u201d Wow. Try to make an appointment if you can. You head to the front of the line.nWhen I finally got to a window, the young man was very condescending and rude. Right u2014 courtesy goes only one way here.

I arrived 10 minutes prior to the start time of 9am. Once inside we were separated by schedulednappointments, name change requests or requests for new or replaced Cards. My reason for using the Charlotte Hall ofc was differeny. Within five minutes after signing in and due to having ALL of my required paperwork in order, I was finished within 20 minutes. Although I had to drive from Oxon Hill, Md to St. Mary's County, it was a GREAT experience at that location.
