I had a fantastic experience here today. After waiting 17 minutes on hold (that part wasnu2019t fun), the most polite and professional person ever named Alexa spoke to me and helped me figure out how to get a social security replacement card since the online application wasnu2019t recognizing my drivers license number. She was miraculously able to work me in get me an appointment TODAY and I should have my replacement card in the mail in 7-10 days. I just left the office.nI will never lose my social security card again nor will I forget the staff at this office. Thanks again

I would select a negative number if there was one.I just turned 65 and I have been receiving bills asking me to pay Medicare Part B. I am working and I have private health insurance. After two letters and several calls trying to fix my Medicare Paft B situation, I finally received a letter indicating me to go to SSA Suite 110. 2241 Buena Vista Rd. Lexington, KY. It didn't say anything about needing an appointment. After arranging a day off. Surprise. It is closed!nnTerrible no-service. The security guard knows nothing and help even less.nnIt was a total waste of time and money.

I set an appointment on the 20th for 12/30/21 and when i got to the office they did not have me down. I have the phone record of talking to someone on the 20th and the paperwork i was told to fill out. They spent 10-15 minutes checking to see if i had an appointment rather than just seeing me.nThen i was told they canu2019t see me because i donu2019t have an appointment. Not a single person was in the building.nThe sheriff i talked to was nice, but i would not recommend going here. Take the time to go somewhere else.

If I could rate this office a zero, I would. Tried calling to make an appointment since it is mandatory. Excessive wait times (over 15 minutes) only to be cut off. Multiple calls attempted to hear u2018User busyu2019. Website says office u2018openu2019, yet when I called -AGAIN- at 4:30, recording states office hours are 9-4. Must be nice- 7 hour day, not considering lunch or breaks.

The customer service support is unreliable and unresponsive. The lack of professionalism at this call center is unacceptable. If you are lucky to reach a representative the agent will be of no use, because they either sit on the phone and will not say a single word and keep typing away OR the phone will get disconnected. It should not be this hard to schedule an in-person visit. If I could give this location a zero review I would. Dealing with this office has been a nightmare.

I am surprised people are getting to an appointment. Iu2019ve called 6 or 7 times waiting 30 mins to an hour each and they end up just hanging up on me. I call the national line and they send a request for the office to see me but nothing gets done because they are not the main office (lex) that handles my claims where they are national line. Nothing gets done and I havenu2019t been paid since December

This office has been absolutely terrible. My son was born in March 2021 and I'm still struggling to get his social security card. I filled out the paperwork at the hospital just like you normally do. I waited 6 weeks and I called in, apparently his paperwork didn't go through so I had to submit another application. Only this time I needed an immunization record. Ok I sent it. It was returned and they told me to fill out another application with an original document not a copy and to send in Proof Of Identification for myself. So my son had his 2 month check up and I asked them for an signed document with a signature and seal and I sent in my state ID Iu2019m from Florida I recently moved to lexington and gave birth. Tell me why they didnu2019t accept none of my proof of identification and had to fill out another application. I get a letter back saying they could not process it. That they needed proof of identification to send in a letter from my doctors office and another immunization record paper plus I sent my consular report of birth abroad just as an extra document for them in case they needed it they sent me another letter saying my documents are not acceptable And they also sent me another application. And they stated that the immunization record need to be signed when clearly at the bottom of the paper it said it doesnu2019t need to be signed. Itu2019s been 5 times!! Iu2019m tired my son is 9 months old with no social security card Iu2019ve been trying to get someone on the phone but the call keep dropping and When I finally get someone they act like they canu2019t hear me Iu2019m trying to make an appointment because now I have a family emergency and I need to make a passport for him I donu2019t know what else to do. The state of Kentucky is the worst state to have children. I'm not filling or sending anything more until I get an appointment. This is just crazy Iu2019m so frustrated.

They are not actually open and the number posted on the door to u201cschedule an appointmentu201d is a non working or perpetually busy line. How is anyone supposed to get a social security card if the online portal doesnu2019t work for them? Itu2019s ridiculous

Wow, the person working the phones is so rude. I started to explain my situation to the man and he and hung up on me mid sentence. Also, after hours drop boxshould mean after hours. Not only between the hours of 3 and 4.
    David Todd Singleton
Everytime we call SS Lexington KY it rings for 2 hours plus and then once someone answers, we get disconnected 3 times. It's rude as hell.

This office has been absolutely terrible. My son was born in June and I'm still struggling to get his social security card. I filled out the paperwork at the hospital just like you normally do. I waited 6 weeks and I called in, apparently his paperwork didn't go through so I had to submit another application. Only this time I needed an immunization record. You're kidding me? He was only 6 weeks old. He only had his first dose of Hep B shot and so I sent in the record they gave us at the hospital. It was returned and they told me to fill out another application with an original document not a copy and to send in ProofOfIdentification for myself. So my son had his 2 month check up and I asked them for an signed document with a signature and seal and I sent in my drivers license (paperwork clearly said that a drivers license was accepted as proof for ID)and had to fill out another application. I get a letter back saying they could not process it. That they needed proof of identification to send in a medical a medicaid or medical card and to sendin another original document of his immunization records. They didn't send me back my drivers license or my son's original document. And they also sent me another application. Is this a joke? 5 times!! They made a mistake on their end and make it a living nightmare to get my son's social security card. I'd tate this zero stats. I'm not filling or sending anything more until I get an appointment. Ridiculous.

They donu2019t tell you this on the phone, but if they tell you to use the dropbox, you can only drop off documents from 3-4 pm. The security officer there hands you an envelope so that you can mail it in, and I asked him if it was safe and he was hesitant and didnu2019t answer :/

Dealing with this office was a pure embarrassment. There's no one working in person at all. They're asking people to mail in driver's licenses and passports to process basic requests. Who is going to do that? That's just asking for the postal service to lose it. The office representative hung up on my wife out of frustration. Unprofessional. There's no reason why people can't get vaccinated and wear a mask and work in the office in-person. The majority of other government agencies are doing it.nnAlso... Get a new phone system with all of our wasted tax dollars.
    Skye Colson
Was on hold for 20 minutes and got disconnected without even talking to anyone yet. Furious.nnUpdate: someone answered today and was very helpful even though she is new and being trained. Will turn my 1 star to 4 stars because of her.nnUpdate again: Just got disconnected again when I was mid sentence. And then tried to call back and couldnu2019t get through. Absolutely ridiculous. Someone needs to be fired or the phones need to be fixed.

They don't even pick up the phone...and frequently give incorrent information. Terrible!

For a public service these people are terrible. Been trying to get a new social security card for weeks. They lost the first one and have no way of tracking the mail. I've spent hours on hold or call gets mysteriously dropped. Each agent will tell you something different.Good luck dealing with them.

Needed to go to the office twice this week. Both experiences were absolutely perfect. This office runs smoothly, fast and efficient and the staff is knowledgeable, friendly and patient. The office space is clean and a pleasing space to wait. The first time I was in and out in under 20 minutes. The second time I actually conducted the business I was inquiring about on the first trip, and that experience was handled in less than 30 minutes. Thank you for your superior service.

I did not have an appointment and arrived anticipating a substantial wait time. I was seen and my matter completed in less than an hour and a half. There were plenty of representatives to keep a steady flow of people being called. The wait area was clean and not crowded. All workers I came in contact with were polite, courteous, and helpful.

Only takes appointments due to Covid, but no one is there to answer your call to MAKE the appointment.
