Government offices have low expectations in general, but this was a special occasion. The human answering the phone wouldn't listen to the special circumstances of our situation. If I had said I had COVID, maybe I would have gotten help. But it seemed my lifestyle choices were disapproved of by the person who was supposed to help me, and therefore he decided that I wasn't going to get help. He interrupted me repeatedly, and I didn't even mind at first because phone conversations are difficult sometimes. But when in our communication I interrupted him, he condescendingly tisked at me like an unruly child and chided me on interrupting his superior godly self. Government agents are worse than doctors for god-complexes; because they have power they think they can talk down at anyone who doesn't bow to their expected mold.
