I needed a replacement 1099 form and couldn't use the online service so I called the New Albany office. I waited less than a minute for my call to be taken; Aaron was extremely pleasant and helpful! He told me the form would be mailed on Monday and probably received on Wednesday and IT WAS! If you need help with Social Security issues, Aaron is your guy!

Been calling all day today and yesterday. None is picking up and after 4 minutes of waiting its been automatically hanging up on me

Best customer service of any government officenI went in to get my social security changed due to death of ex husband. The lady told me it would be 6 weeks for my next appointment. I said that is fine then she told me to wait. Another worker overhead and could call me later in the afternoon for a meeting over the phone. I said great. Sure enough she called and we discussed it but due to other circumstances she said she would need to call me back . And the next morning she called me and we took care of everything on the phone. I believe her name was Andrea .. she did an excellent job and was kind and efficient.

Drove an hour and at their door to be told that it's by appointments only and for extreme situations. They wouldn't even look ok at my deceased papers for my dad to make sure I filled them out correctly and wouldn't make an exception. ABSOLUTELY HEARTLESS AND RUDE.

I arrived just after 9, check-in and room was busy as expected, but my wait was fairly short. I was assisted by two different agents, and both were extremely friendly, patient with my questions and helpful! Great customer service and a lot of staff to assist and keep the lines moving-- much appreciated!

Went in for a simple name change after marriage. Arrived promptly at 9:00, so the wait was short..Was rudely greeted and then extremely rudely and condescendingly interrupted when I tried to explain my situation (treated as if I wasn't aware of the necessary documents and wasn't prepared, despite the posted requirements online being ambiguous for my situation) and documentation . All in all, federal employees acting as is reasonably expected.

Very polite.and knowledgeable. Long on hold wait tho.

So now itu2019s ok to refuse to give people paper applications for their own social security card? Not like you all work for the public or anything!

They need new workers. My daughter is on SSI and turned 18 in December. They were still putting in my boyfriend's income even after she turned 18. Then turned around and said she gets $1000 in child support, which her dad only pays $5.29 a month. Been fighting with them for weeks! They need someone who knows what they r doing and knows the difference in 1000 and a dollar. I would give zero stars if it could.

They literally make it to where nobody can get their SS card. My boyfriend just turned 18 and he doesn't have parents so he went to apply to a SS card. He brought 3 forms of ID (address/mail), bank statement and ID, birth certificate, & dental records. He went back today with dental records and they told him no because it's not stamped. But they wouldn't accept his stamped bank statement. They're idiots. Absolutely ridiculous. I wish I could give negative stars.

I Linda. Was there on the 12th of Oct. As soon as it opened, I was called quite soon, however the person was very rude did not give me time to answer her and insisted I had not given my New address, She was QUITE humiliating, People such as she should never work with the elderly. It was not a good experience.

Called and a lady got mad and asked why I was calling and not my wife when I called on her behalf, I told her I can talk for her and I was prepared to go get a hold of my wife, but she hung up on me.
