Never answer the phone, want to hold documents hostage for extended periods of time( drivers licenses etc. In an unmonitored drop off box) like people are able to drive around for days at a time without it. I have had the worst experiences replacing cards for my daughter and I after ours were stolen. When you do actually get to talk to someone, they are RUDE! typical government run organization, always getting the run around and making it harder than it needs to be.

This is the worst place you could go to get your social security card, on the paper on the door they told us to make an appointment but did not pick up the phone and there was no one even at the office other then the people working there and us waiting in the empty parking lot. They just didn't want to do there job, we called for over 45 minutes straight and couldn't even talk to one person.

I've had them be rude, disrespectful, and refused to answer the phone. They even have hung up on me just for asking for a supervisor. Just today November 15 2021 I call then go through the wait time. But each time it was my turn to speak to someone it rang once then went silent and would go on like this. That means they picked up but wasn't gonna talk hoping I'd hang up. Mind you this is a half hour before they close at 1pm which is early for them. I have a deadline to acquire documents from them for a review for other benefits but am having issues getting them to do anything. If they don't answer the phone I can't get these documents. Their building is closed for non-appointments so I can't just go up there. I have to do things by phone. Very unprofessional and disrespectful to people's needs and something needs done about this.

LINDA was the rudest person that my family had to deal with. screaming & yelling at my little brother. She needs fired. Cannot believe she is even employed. By far the worst person my family has ever dealt with.

if i could rate zero stars, i would.nwhen i arrived for my appointment, the elderly couple scheduled before me said they couldnt get inside due to the locked doors- i also tried opening them.nni called and told the receptionist the front door was locked and that we were here for our appointments. she denied it and was adamant they were unlocked and refused to even get up and check.nnmy mother started getting irritated and the receptionist told me tocalm her downbefore continuing to speak with her because it wasdisrespectfulthat my mother was getting agitated (ie. sighing, mumbling, asking me what's happening)nnshe then hung up on me afterwards and refused to answer any of my calls.nntake my advice, drive to richmond ss office instead- you actually get treated kindly and respectfully there.

Unfortunately, a majority of my experiences with the social security office have been rough. Iu2019ve called several times asking the same question and Iu2019ve gotten wildly confusing answers and different answers from everyone Iu2019ve spoken to. Understandably, Iu2019ve worked in customer service and understand that thereu2019s not a guide for everything. But I was hoping that people working for the government would be a bit more efficient with consistent answers and solutions. My friends have also talked about similar experiences. The only reason I rated this two stars was because of an amazing employee that helped me when several operators havenu2019t.

They are extremely rude and don't know how to talk to you like a customer service person should be able to. And it takes forever for them to answer the phone, Which is terrible if you ask me cause there should be plenty of customer service people that can answer the phone and help you with whatever it is that you need help with period!!! ud83eudd37ud83eudd26ud83dude12

After going through the lengthy phone prompts (press 1 for this and 2 for that etc.) I was able to speak to a personal social security phone rep and she was polite, efficient and helpful. My daughter had an appointment in office and due to winter weather I was unsure if we would be able to make it due to her health and weather advisories. The representative was able to switch our appointment to phone rather than office quickly and answered all of my questions. It was very much appreciated during a stressful time with a medically complex child. I didn't expect it to go that smoothly after reading these reviews but I decided to submit a positive review so that others could see that was also possible. Often we only see the negative but rarely do people take the time to submit a positive experience.

Called early the previous day and phone was answered within a couple minutes. Lady was courteous and said I could make an appointment or do walk-in. I arrived around 9 the next morning and was waited on in about 15 minutes. Again treated with courtesy. About 15 minutes later I was signed up for benefits and out the door. For those complaining about the phone not being answered, if I'm there, I'd rather be waited on than have someone sitting on the phone answering questions that could probably be answered with a little effort on the net. Cut em some slack!

I realize it's probably a tough job, but I don't understand why they have to be so short and rude. I'm disabled. I don't want to be but I am. It can really hurt a persons feelings.
