It is now 5 minutes to one. And I have been on the phone for a total of 3 hours waiting for someone to pick up. They say they answer calls Nine to 4. But I have been trying to contact someone for 3 days now and still no pick up. I really wish these people will stop being lazy and pick up the phone. Youu2019re already working from home. Now doing the job youu2019re paid to do is to much. You people really need to be fired.

If I could leave zero stars, I would. It's so hard to reach and speak to an actual person, that it's a running joke and would be comical if it weren't a matter of this office playing around with people's social security benefits. Even if you go there in person and speak to a human, face to face, they'll smile, look you in your face, and essentially lie to you, as they tell you that they'll be reviewing your case, with apparently zero intention of actually doing so. But you can't call them to find out what's going on or why it's taking so long because you'll just be kept on hold for as long as you can manage to sit on hold on the phone. Their service is awful and they don't seem to communicate or even read their own letters that they've sent out. You'll get a letter telling you one thing and then another letter later on that totally contradicts the first letter. They have no clue half the time what they've said.

One star is too much. You can't reach the Waukegan, IL office. I've tried numerous times. They refuse to answer the phone beyond their useless hold service. They say they answer in 15 minutes or less, but that's a lie. You go to the web-site and they want to sign you up with a third-party expert for $1.00 what junk service. Kids could run this better.

I tried to call both nationwide number (no answer for more than 1 hour, still waiting) and the closest local one that is Waukegan social security administration (the call was on hold for 18 minutes when it was disconnected saying no agent available, try to call later). Do you -the employees of social security administration, really think that we donu2019t have any other chores but calling you and waiting for so long, calling several times without any answer? No one would call you if not for an urgency or important updates regarding their cases. Please try to u201cwalk in our shoesu201d!!!

They are sending me letters to call right away about my SSI, no one answers!! I mean no one!! I have sat for a week trying to call but, I can't come into the office. They also did this to me one year ago and didn't answer!! Open the doors to the disabled please!

If I could give negative stars I would. From the people on the phone, to the security guard, to the people in the office. No one knows what they're talking about. No one is professional. They literally get off on making things more difficult for people.

I tried calling my local social security office and the national number for redetermination of my SSI. No agent is available on either number and I might lose my disability because of them. Csnt even make an appointment to go to my local office

I've been calling every day for 2 straight weeks, no one answer or if someone answer, they just dont talk, goes quiet and then hung up. At Waukegan office, no one is there to help, the guard just keep saying call. Very disappointed ......

I call and call, but no one has responded to my messages in over a week! How are people supposed to get disability if no one calls you back!!

It's not the worst government ran facility i've been to. Before covid I went a few times to replace my social security card, yes I've lost it more than once. And I've gone for a name change. Pretty fast as well. The cell phone reception wasn't bad in there either.

They are very unprofessional, instead of helping with answering questions they transfer the call in the middle of me speaking then donu2019t answer calls after.

Very disappointed with the service in this location. I send my application for a Social Security number. I first got a call to set up an appointment to go in for this. I called multiple times and kept getting directed to the managers direct line. Left multiple voicemails but have never gotten a call back. Then I received my paperwork back with a sticky note in it. The sticky note said to call the number to set up an appointment to go in for this. It would be great if they could at least answer when we call if that is what they are specifically telling me to do. I have been trying to get a hold of them for over a month now. Terrible location.

Really helpless place. No one is doing their job and knows the real answer when I had questions. Itu2019s been 5 months that Iu2019ve been trying to change my last name. I even asked for a supervisor and I was not able to get a hold of them. Pathetic place!

Iu2019m not sure what all the negative reviews were all about. I went in there and I was literally done within 5 minutes. Not exaggerating. The security desk has a sign that clearly says he cannot answer administrative questions, so if the one stars are for the security guard not being helpful, it's no fault on his part that he doesn't know the answers. If the one stars are for lack ofgoodservice, the agent helping me was brief, well spoken, to the point, and did his job skillfully. Although he was not overly friendly, we know they are trained to manage clients with a certain protocol that is standard, he still almost cracked a smile. They're there to process paperwork, not put on a Broadway show. If the one stars are for thelongwait time, I showed up as the doors opened, got my number at the kiosk, got called, showed my requirements, was asked some security questions, and in less than 5 minutes I was DONE. If you can't get up at the crack of dawn, I suggest scheduling your appointment online ahead of time, and by all means get all the paperwork you need before you go there. It's a digital world now, the requirements are all online. To me this office was 5 stars service, they even mailed my request to my address in a different state, no issues.

Went 2 x this week. First lady has a smile, was so friendly. I didn't get the news I wanted, but she was so nice I couldn't be upset. The other one I said good morning to, (they were open only like 30 min) and I got a grunt. Wanted to double check on what the first friendly lady told me before and all she did is say that's not true, then I said how does it work and I got I wouldn't know. How can you be so miserable of a human when working with people that are there for you to help them!

Very disappointed with the service, They don't respond to calls.ntook 2months to get my SSN. People here are Lazy. They disconnect by saying, we will call you bank in an hour but no one calls back. Tried to reach the extension for days and no one answered. Got to know guy was on vacation, there is no backup for the guy who left for vacation. I went to other SSN office near by, they said go to office this office because this office have less files. but they always pretend to be busy. I don't know what's going on with this office but I am very disappointed with their job. This is delaying me in starting my job. I was frustrated for many weeks because of the people who work here. PLEASE DO YOUR JOB, WHICH YOU ARE GETTING PAID FOR!!

The only good experience I had here was with Ms. White out of 3 other representatives I worked with. She actually shows compassion to people who are in a difficult situations. She did her job right when other representatives didn't . She looked me in my eyes, gave me her undivided attention, and listened to me when other representatives didn't. She is a caring person who deserves recognition for making a difference in my experience with this office. Thank you Ms. White. I appreciate kind ethical people like you.

My experience was exceptional! My representative was Ms. Richardson, she was knowledgeable, patient and very responsive. She was also very empathetic and kind.

We might not like everything about the functionality of local offices, but my experience with them is good! They've always been helpful with every concern I've had or my wife's concern as it relates to our disabled son. I have been there when people don't have the basics they need to receive information about themselves or their benefits. Then they get mad at the staff. I've seen people shovel their cars out and pile the garbage in the parking lot after they leave the office. I would imagine that it is some of these type of people that complain about the office workers and they're like or dislike of them.nu2714ufe0fu2714ufe0fu2714ufe0fu2714ufe0fu2714ufe0fu2714ufe0fu2714ufe0fu2714ufe0fu2714ufe0fu2714ufe0fu2714ufe0fu2714ufe0f

Itu2019s strange that they changed their phone number. Itu2019s scary enough calling s.s. Office in the first place but when they are inconsistent as a scammer,, itu2019s very unnerving. Plus they got my name wrong

All I have to say is they need to hire a new security guard! While I was here waiting for my number to be called, I witnessed a HORRIBLE incident! The place was full of people and there was hardly any seats left so most people were standing. Some were standing by the kiosks where you sign in, so the security guard (very rudely) told everyone to move away and stand somewhere else as that is a private area. Understandable, but he came back and he did something unbelievable! One lady (she was overweight) didn't move away and he screamedhey lady! Loose some pounds, burn a few calories and walk away from there! It's not that hard!I was utterly in disbelief shock. That was the most obnoxious thing I've ever heard someone say in public! He really doesn't deserve that job..

How are you supposed to drop off documents when they have no drop box
    Bob Ohle
Pleasantly surprised to find the staff I dealt with to be friendly and knowledgeable. I was in and out quickly although I was one of the first in line when it opened. Early arrivals are in line 45 min. before opening.nThe hours listed are incorrect - they're actually 9:00 - 4:00. Make it easy on yourself by bringing all the necessary paperwork even if unsure whether it's needed.

I need to make appointment to speak with an agent and the individual (800 number) with whom I spoke blatantly refused my request. Having waited for 59 minutes and 54 seconds, then be told that he could answeranyquestions which I might have, was extremely frustrating because I do not KNOW which specific questions to ask!!!!!!! I also said that my financial advisor would be accompanying me to ask further questions. He laughed and again claimed that he could provide information which I might require...nA VERY rude and unprofessional experience!!!!

Horrible, stay away! After getting married, I went there to change my last name. I brought all of my documents: ID, SS card, marriage certificate, US passport. I received a letter in the mail after 8 WEEKS that my application is denied due to my current immigration status... A born citizen denied due to immigration issues?! I went to a different location and there was NO TRACE of me even applying for a name change. Unbelievable! Please go to a different location for a much better service.

I have had a terrific experience with Ms Davis. I had a phone call appointment and she called exactly on time. I had a lot of questions about medicare payments and she was very patient and helpful even when I was confused. I can't speak highly enough about the experience.
