    The people who work here are cool and courteous. The wait time is quite low and things are done in a quick manner. But, the 'booking of appointment' through call is a lengthy procedure and wastes a lot of time of an individual. I hope there's a different procedure other than a phone call which is more hassle free

    Came here with my mom so she could change her last name after getting married. We didn't know she needed to call for an appointment because it didn't say this on the website. We got the number off of the door, got back in the car to call for an appointment. Ansecurity officerwalks someone to their car then comes to our car and stands there until my mom notices he proceeds to initiate conversation with my mom asking questions that are out of his responsibility in a way that came across hostile. I kid you not, this guy treated us like we were suspects in a crime. Be careful coming here, it makes you feel a little unsafe.

    Just horrible. I waited for an hour for someone to answer and then the woman that finally answered claimed that she couldnu2019t hear me and hung up. Their also very slow with the application process. Very unhappy and regret choosing this office.

    I would like to know how people are getting ahold of anyone there??? I have called numerous times all week and no one picks up the phone. The phone rings so long to the point I eventually canu2019t hear anything and it hungs up. RIDICULOUS! How are we supposed to get help when we canu2019t go to the office & the website states to call the office for my specific situation.

    I am finally breaking down and getting a new social security card...after 23 years of marriage...I can't circumvent it anymore so I had to call the Elgin social security office to find out exactly which documents I needed to submit to effect a corrected card. I got Glenda on the phone and was so pleasantly surprised by her cheerful and pleasant demeanor! And above all - she was indeed helpful and told me exactly what I needed and how to proceed. When I knew I had to go through with getting a new card (finally), I had read reviews that had nothing but awful things to say about the service other people had received. If you have to call the Elgin office, I hope you get Glenda because she was just a doll. Thanks, Glenda! :)

    I called here twice in one day, and I wasnu2019t sure if itu2019s the same lady picked up my phone, she was being really kind and patient at all time. While the SSA office of Aurora was being really careless and ignorant, this lady is my life saver, I canu2019t tell how much I appreciate it.     Applied for my SSC 2 month agou2026 Still havenu2019t received anything. When I call the office they just tell me to wait. But as much as I waitu2026 still nothing arrives. It was supposed to take 2 weeks!! Now Iu2018m waiting for 2 month and I donu2019t even know if Iu2018ll receive it at all.

    Similar experience as others... Everyone I talk to gives me different information, and they all sound like they are annoyed that I am calling and asking them questions about my application.nnThere was only ONE woman, that I talked to, out of the, at least 8 people, that was actually nice, helpful, and got me the information I needed and was able to answer all of my questions thoroughly. Wish I could just work through her each time, but they do not have extensions or direct lines that I can have.nnHorrible customer service and aggravating to have to deal with.nMy one star review is because of the 5 stars I give this one women, and the zero stars I give the rest of them....

    One star is being generous! I've spoken to several reps in this office regarding what info they need to get a name change after a divorce and EVERY one has given me different information!! Today was Matt. He had no clue what I needed, he guessed and kept sayingit's the lawI'm not sending my drivers license to them when I'll not get it back for what could be MONTHS!! What am I suppose to do for ID in the mean time???? He said they are backed up and he couldn't tell me when I'd get it back!! They need to get retrained with the right information and stop wasting people's time!!

    Positive: hold time was short, person located info quickly, rep said u201cgood byeu201d before hanging up on me.nNegative: no compassion at all, I reported a family death and was told they already knew, very robotic like. In fact, might as well have an AI take your call.
    AWFUL rude people when you can get through if you're lucky, literally was on hold for 20 minutes each time and at the end of each attempt to get through was hung up on.

    This office provided excellent service and ample parking. The waiting time for me was just over an hour when I was there to complete my Medicare benefits application on 1/3/2020. Matt, the staff who worked on my case was very professional and helpful, and the security staff was friendly too. Overall, my experience visiting this office was positive.

    I applied for SSN over a month ago, and they said iu2019d get my documents within 2 weeks. I still didnu2019t get it after 5 weeks. I have called every single day for three weeks to get my SSN. My call is answered by their agents, but they put me on hold for 20 minutes just saying u201csecondsu201d. It seems like their customer service agent donu2019t do their jobs and just put calls on hold and waste time. Itu2019s pity their service is so bad .
