SS stinks! Trying to process my Medicare online and the online system froze and its saying I processed. SS said it was not processed, which I know it wasnu2019t and to phone my Chicago Heights office and they will manually finish it on the phone. Since she tried to reset my form. A simple fix if they had the right IT help that she said she could not contact. Well 3 weeks later and I still cannot speak to a live person.

I had my birth certificate along with other things to prove my identity and they won't take my application without school ID, employee ID, military ID, or medical insurance card things that people rarely have. It's ridiculous that people are trying to get what they need in order to find a job etc. And they give you a hard time

Attempted to talk to somebody for several weeks about my Medicare B nobody seems to give me the right answer and you wait on the phone for at least no less than 45 minutes to get no resolution this is a horrible horrible treatment of a person whou2019s worked 47 years and this is how they treat you

Hi, I just experience the most helpful, to the point, yet patient case manager Mr. William's. In times of a pandemic it was refreshing to have a live person on the phone that was not frustrated, but willing to answer your questions and to make you laugh in the process. The most joyful communication of the day.

I write this review to express my gratitude to the Manager Mr Newton (if I got his name right) of this social security administration office. Heu2019s the best manager I know, so selfless, knowledgeable and compassionate. My husband and I had the rare privilege of meeting this angelic man on march the 3rd of 2021. Every other person I spoke to werenu2019t as nice and forthcoming. Yu2019all, we all need a Newton in every public office and our lives. Sir, if you get to read this thank you and may God reward you for serving the people with utmost love.

As of 12/10/2021 these offices are still closed. I did a phone interview for a disabled member of my family 6 months ago. Still waiting on a response.

Hello I wanted to write a review to let everyone know about the excellent information and service I received by Mr.. Williams the representative I talked to today. I lost my husband a couple of weeks ago after 45 years. When I called the office on Thursday, December 17, I had a poor experience with the representative I talked to. Still unsure of what to do I called again and had the pleasure of talking to Mr. Williams. He explained and walked me through every step of the process. What a huge difference that made. I cannot thank Mr. Williams enough for taking the time to walk me through the process. Mr. Williams, I certainly thank you for a job well done. Happy Holidays and be safe.

Every time Iu2019ve called this location because I needed help a woman would answer the phone very rudely and did little to nothing to help assist me with what I needed. Not only did they not help me but on both occasions, one of which was today, the lady hangs up on me BOTH times. This location has VERY poor service and should talk to their employees about better communication skills or better yet talk about customer service improvements!

Any government business that needs to be done usually equates to the same amount of fun as a root canal... less than pleasant. Add a pandemic and anticipate chaos. Well not so with this branch. I needed new cards and called the number they had posted on this location's door. The woman I spoke with was FANTASTIC and so helpful! Actually from this location....not some drone downtown or in Springfield. I just wish I got her name.... she made such a mundane task much more bearable and was fun to chat with. She also didn't talk down to me which I notice happens with many government agencies... they do this all day, every day so when us common folks have a question, they talk like we are idiots. Not this place, they are great. ud83dude0a

I am use to being in the social security office for hours on end but today I went in and came right out 20-25 mins late. I was grateful for Mr.Williams who was very understanding, kind and patient with me. Being 8 months pregnant, Iu2019m often pressure to hurry up and move faster. However, I was so very glad that he didnu2019t rush me, force me to hurry or make me feel bad about my speed and comprehension. I am grateful for that Chicago heights location.

I chuckled when I saw the low ratings for this facility. Because it is an ssa office and you donu2019t expect much out of the place, but now I understand why so many people think so little of this place.nI have never been treated so terribly at any facility. I came to this facility to change my last name after being married a short time ago. I waited for almost two hours to receive service. This is understandable considering there are many other people here waiting for service. I walked up to the desk with the most positive and polite attitude I had heard in that facility all day. The customer service representative dressed in a red sweater with a matching red suit was very rude to me. I offered all the information I had to him including the name change form that I already filled out, and even offered him my social security card u201cif that would be helpfulu201d. He gave me back my ID, marriage license, ext. and never gave me back my social security card. I searched my things over and over again looking for it, thinking I dropped it and someone else picked it up. I came back inside, talked to security, and waited for that teller to be available. I asked him if he might have seen it. He told me that he shredded it. I can not believe that that man took such an important piece of paper out of my hands with no warning or question and shredded it. I do not even know how many social security cards I have left to receive in my lifetime. If I ever get a divorce and change my name, he took a very valuable piece of paper from me. I can understand having a bad day, because of how other people are treating you. But, I am honestly so offended and worried now. What if he just took away something from me that I will need in the future? I can not believe that the social security administration keeps people working customer service positions that are so rude and inconsiderate. I hope I never have the opportunity to step into this facility again to deal with such an inconsiderate and awful person.

Local Office contact, Mr. 'Devin' Williams, helped to explain a complex situation and was sincerely engaged to take action on our behalf. What excellent service, helping to put a stalled process in motion to remedy our crisis. We are very grateful and cannot say 'thank you' enough! :-)

Very professional & organized 1st come 1st served basis waiting since area is highly populated I assume serving a dense population of recipients. Thank you for taking good care of my needs as a payee. Keep up the good work seems some of us always just want to complain, tear down others& play the role of the victim constantly????

Horrible!! Sent me papers to be filled out by my childu2019s school, sent them back in as instructed.. few weed later received and letter stating my childu2019s benefits will stop I then called them and was told they didnu2019t get the forms.. mailed them myself from South Holland and the office is in Chicago Heights which mean someone is not doing their job receiving the incoming mail.. (no problem) went back to get another set of forms and the wait was 2 hours very slow only 3 people were calling numbers , and kept calling the same numbers about 3xs and the people who number theyu2019re were calling wasnu2019t there..got to the window was very polite greeted the lady with an hello.she was not an nice person at all.. customer service training is very much needed!!

I went to this location to do a name change and I was out in 15 mins. The person that helped me was Deven Williams. He was one of the most polite and professional people Iu2019ve worked with at the SSA office. Good job Mr Williams.
    Ruth Stalling
The office wait was only about an hour. I was pleasantly surprised. However, Mr. Donald , the person I spoke with was very rude and obnoxious. His demeanor was not that of someone who is supposed to be knowledgeable about the social security system. I will be contacting the administrator of that facility.

I'd rather give zero stars, second time having to deal with this location for my dad in the year and a half since he started receiving benefits. They are very slow, it's always very crowded, not enough seating at all, and we are going on our 4th hour wait and getting information or cooperation from them is next to impossible. They make it very difficult to help loved ones that are blind, hearing impaired, disabled in any way, or mentally unable to understand things on their own. This location always has staffing issues and their tv system doesn't always update with numbers they are calling. We usually use the Palos Hills location, but apparently due to our living in Midlothian, get stuck shoved into the completely unhandleable location in Chicago heights which is also an incredibly inconvenient location since it's in the opposite direction of anywhere we go. The boundaries make no sense.

I would not even give 1 star.these people are worst then anybody. I have been waiting since 3 hours and I was just 8 numbers behind but nothing happened. What they do is just waste time and chat with each other. Need more people or government should take care of it. So many disable people were waiting and their parent were standing but have no humanity. BS everybodyu2019s and system.
