Drop off service is great. Dropped off my paperwork on Tuesday, had my original documents back by Wednesday via FedEx. The lady over the phone was very helpful and even emailed the paperwork that I needed to fill out.

The phone is not ringing, there is no info about dropping off the documents time. People are coming and there is no one to answer. Officer answering says she is not working for social security org. Time waste just for a renewal and add change.

My sister was calling for my niece's social security card (which she hasn't gotten) and the lady on the phone was extremely rude and unprofessional. The hospital helped my sister with the paperwork for my niece but the lady claimed that they weren'taffiliatedwith the hospital.

I guess naive me didn't expect it to be busy 10am on a Friday day, but it was. Super simple, walk in, check in, get a ticket, and wait. We waited 51 minutes for our turn, and it only took about 3 minutes to actually help us. The security guard on duty was nice and friendly, as well as the lady that helped us. I guess if I need to come back, I'd go back to this location. Thank you!

In handling an issue for a special needs family member, I called the Aurora office with a simple question. It was, hands down, one of the poorest customer service experiences of my life. The woman was rude right off the bat, was having trouble verifying my identity and address, and in the process of attempting to verify, ended up not letting me finish sentences and telling me to calm down. Upon asking for her name , her response wasnuh-uhand when I asked for a supervisor was HUNG UP ON.nEvery other call I've had with any one at this office has been great and the agents and our case worker were incredibly friendly, attentive, thorough and helpful. I will be escalating this issue up the chain to get this agent identified as she has no business being paid by our tax dollars to treat people this way.

The SS Aurora reps are great over the phone and very informative. A good note for drop off. They are only available for drop off on Thursday's from 8 am to 9 am per security employee on site.

This Office decided someone who has survived a broken back, 8 heart attacks and has many many medical problemsis Notdisabled enough to qualify for Disability. How disabled does a person have to be to get disability in this state? Asking for myself been trying for 23 YEARS!

It Is Obvious That Staff Is Not Properly Supervised. Treating People As If They Are Ignorant or Less Is Unacceptable.

My time here went smoothly. I went right at 3:50pm, and they still took care of me and got my son's new social security card and number set up. I only waited for 3 minutes for my number to be called.nnThe security guard, Miss Parker was courteous and helpful. And Mr. Gaub was knowledgeable and professional and helped me out with everything I needed.nnI was nervous because of the other negative reviews, but my experience was pleasant.

Poor experiences calling in here. Trying to submit corrections to a form and was told that 4 different things were wrong on 4 separate occasions. Last time I called the operator was very rude, and repeatedly interrupted me. Left me nearly in tears. Go somewhere else, if you can.

We have used drop box for updating our SSN records and we got our originals along with receipt on next day through UPS. We do recommend to use drop box facility for SSA with required documents!!

I didnu2019t plan on writing a review of the SSA today but I have to say, I arrived early and the staff moved folks through very efficiently.nnMs. Scarborough helped me with a name change and was easily the most pleasant government employee Iu2019ve ever met!nnWhatever youu2019re doing to keep her happy (and the security woman who was also doing great) keep it up!

Wonderful office. My husband and I did not have an appointment, but our ticket # was called within 15 minutes of arriving there. The service reps are very friendly, understanding, and they will help you with the online SS signup process every step of the way. I would definitely encourage people to come to this location.

i had a phone appointment for benefits. they filled in all my information and said it would take 6 weeks for me to see the payment. the payment didn't happen and didn't happen. there was a death in the family and i couldn't deal with it til now. that was september and i still haven't seen anything. spent day on phone today. they sent me back to that office with whom i had had the phone interview. they had the paperwork there. it had not been reviewed. i don't know what that means except that it has been sitting there for 4 months or more unreviewed and going nowhere. i could barely hear the woman at this office. she said something about emailing somebody and that i would be called by somebody when it had been sent to the payment center. i hope i get that call. i have no idea whether i really will. someone told me to call my congressman to get something done about it. i will wait a short bit but i guess i will contact a congressman next. crazy.

Obviously nobody enjoys going to government offices, but my experience was definitely not as terrible as I expected it to be. Despite the sign saying the approximate wait time was 45 minutes and I ended up waiting 2 hours until being serviced, I understood going into this that the wait times are typically pretty lengthy. The security guard at the door saw that I looked a bit lost and was very polite and helpful. She greeted me asked what I was here for and showed me to the kiosk to sign in. When my number got called the woman servicing me was very friendly and even congratulated me on my marriage and wished me well. Overall the experience with customer service was above and beyond what i was expecting. I rate this experience 4 stars only because the wait time was over double what I had expected. Thank you to the two women who helped me today I wish I had gotten their names to properly thank them.

I arrived at the Aurora Social Security office at 9:05 this morning. There were about 30 people already there. I completed my business by 9:40 and the person waiting on me was great! This is a very effective location!

I recently called because of problems with my social security card. The woman on the phone was extremely rude to me, my mother, and my father. I work a 9-5 job so I get it, itu2019s not the best. But at least learn a small bit of customer service. Extremely disappointed and dissatisfied.

April 9. Thursday. It was pouring. I'd been sick. I was not looking forward to spending thehalf dayin the SSA office, but my issue could not be resolved via online application.. When my husband and I stepped up to Window 2 we were helped by a most competent, thorough and pleasant staffer. She sifted through my history labyrinth and sorted it efficiently and swiftly. When she was finished, in mere minutes, I was officially retired. We were in and out in under an hour, most of which was justly waiting our turn. Awesome SSA.

Worst customer service ever. Employees don't even know the social security administration regulations. They reject requests without no reason. When you call, they refuse to give you information and they hang up the phone.

Be prepared to speak to the rudest people on the planet. Have spoken to numerous individuals at this officeu2026everyone of them has an edge. All are federal employees who hate their jobs and it becomes clear in their attitudes.
    Gregory R Neuman
The security officer outside was the rudest person ever, brought the woman i was with to tears, she gave different information than the website, hang a gun and a can of mace on her hip and she thinks she can talk to people the way her parents brought her up, she shouldn't be in contact with real people, RUDE !
    Trupti Thakkar
Very nice n friendly staff. Specially thanks to Mrs cooper and manager of office Veronique. They deserve more stars.

Rudest, most careless and inept employees I have ever encountered. I received better service at the DHS office, DMV in Chicago and from teenagers working at any McDonald's.nnI have gone in person to this location twice to change my address because there was an issue with my verification code for the website. I was asked to go to the office to update my information.nnI also requested a critical payment of my benefits because they were recouping money from an overpayment; however, instead being on a payment plan they withheld my entire check which left me without any income for two months. I fell behind on my bills so I called the main Social Security number in Springfield and they told me to ask for a critical payment due to dire need. So that's what I did- went in person requested the critical payment only to be told there was no such thing. I explained I spoke to someone in Springfield and that that information was also online. The woman told me there was no such thing but that she could request a payment plan to be put in place but that I wouldn't receive a payment possibly until 45 days. It wasn't what I expected but without any other options I said fine do that then. She directed to go to the DHS office to request an emergency payment. So I did go just after she updated my address and phone number and signed the paperwork for the payment plan. Surprise DHS said no because social security should be able to help me. So i was hoping to receive some news about the payment plan in a week or so. Which I did but to my old address!nnI called the number for tve aurora office and a man answered. I explained what was happening and he asked if I got the name of the woman that helped me. I said no and he said well don't you know you have yo get the persons name. I said you're right but I forgot and so I continued my story but I know I sounded frustrated and desperate but I was never rude! He said well what do you want me to do. I can't do anything. I'm not the one taking your money. I couldn't believe his attitude or his tone! I just said sir I am not blaming you nor do I want to argue with you I just need someone to help me. He said well I can't do nothing you need to come to the office. So that was was that.nnI called the number in Springfield again and the representative was so polite and helpful and explained what happened. She couldn't believe it either and she helped me update my address and info. She also said to go to a different office because it doesn't sound like they are very helpful. She said that their is such a thing as a critical payment and that they should know that. SnnSo that's my rant. I will never go back to that office in aurora! I hope someone higher up on that totem pole sees the reviews for that office and does something to to fix the issues they have with serving the public!

Unacceptably long wait times. Not even a place to sit there were so many people waiting to see a Social Security employee. I waited almost three hours for a face time that took less than five minutes. They either need longer hours or more staff or both. What do they do on Wednesday afternoon when the office closes at Noon? I thought only doctors played golf on Wednesday afternoons.....

The lady I had was beyond rude, worse than the DMV. I was the first person she helped, I tried to be nothing but nice. It was my first time at the social security office, it was only to change my name. She threw my documents back at me. She also never verified my address so my new ss card never made it to me, now I have to go back!
    Angela Aviles
Since 2001 I have been fighting for disability to approve my applications. My most recent Redetermination has sat at the social security offices UNTOUCHED by anyone since March 9th. Each and every time I try to talk to SOMEONE at either the Aurora or Springfield offices I get no where. I Mean How in the hell do you deny someone with health problems that include Heart disease, PTSD, Clinical Depression, herniated disks and in a wheelchair with the reasoningJust because you are unable to do Skilled work, doesnt mean you cant do unskilled light work. This is my 10 thDenialI'm waiting for. Lazy, incompetent people are employed here. No one willing to do any work.

Plenty of seating. Make an appointment, it helps. Go later in the day - I saw some people wait only 10 minutes! I worked with a very nice & helpful representative. Overall, MUCH better than I was fearing!
