Tried to go to this office today to help my uncle change his daughters social security card since she was adopted by him recently. I pulled up to the office to find out it is closed until further notice. Can you update your website and Google page to reflect these changes? Ridiculous. I should not have had to travel over 30 minutes to a location that is CLOSED. Absolutely ridiculous donu2019t come here. Posted 4/5/2022

After plodding through the internet access, I was informed that I was locked out of MY records because -- among other reasons -- I was indicating the wrong email address! I have only had it for a decade or more and receive 700-900 emails a week. But the people in Alton were able to answer my question concerning Medicare payments. KUDOS to them!!!

I've spoken to 4 different people at the Alton IL office over the past 3 months and all were EXCEPTIONAL. Just super nice & helpful. It's an important job, walkingcluelesspeople like myself thru a confusing process. This group deserves 5+++ stars.

With last few jobs I have had I have followed their procedures for reporting the monthly income, but they continually hit those who are disabled with fees like we are trying to cheat the government or are rich! The monthly income for SSDI is less than $800 which is lower than the average cost of a one bedroom apartment not including the bills and essentials of living! This is abuse, neglect and discrimination towards those who have a disability and it also occurs in the workplace! Then the government needs to fix it or those of us who have been suffering from it needs to take stand and legal action if change is not made!

Who enjoys going to any government office? Not me! But this office is on point! Friendly lady who eventually waited on me, and the security guard is good at his job but also very friendly (not to mention good looking! lol). The customers are usually the problem and cause a slight delay. Did have about an hour wait. But hey, it's the SS office. In and out in 2 minutes once called back. Keep up the great work!
