My husband has applied for SSN more than a month ago, but have not received it. We have been trying to reach them over phone for last two weeks, but with no luck. Either their call drops or even if we get the call, we cannot hear them. Only once we got them through line, but then the call was disconnected after 45 minutes wait time. This is so frustrating!

I would actually rate them a ZERO! They can't be bothered to answer the phone after 7 calls in a 3-hour period. Instead I am told to call back another time and disconnected. What an absolute travesty that these employees who are supposed to serve the public - simply ignore them.

I applied for a name changed in the end of May, the lady said it should only take 4 weeks to receive a new SSN name. And I explained my situation that my working permit (student OPT) will be expired in mid July. She was confident that itu2019ll be ok. I called in couple times to keep track on it. After 6 weeks, I still did not get anything and July passed by, I called in one last time and another lady said the case was canceled because my OPT has ended. I was so frustrated and tried to explain my situation. The lady who confidently said it would be fine refused to talk to me even though I know she was in her office atm. Due to Covid, everything is slowly processing. I get it, but at least apologize for what had happened, yet no. She did not feel apologetic and just let it went by like nothing happened. Now my name on my DL is not matched with my SSN. How sad

Even once you get off of hold, their telephone line does not work. It's just empty, nobody can hear you, you can't hear them. My wife has been trying to change her name for over a year after our marriage. It's such an utter joke, and is almost terrifying that these government offices are who we're paying and are supposed to rely on.nn19 months later. Gabby and Jessica should be fired immediately. False information andI don't knowwork at McDonald's. Not at a government office. The other people were okay.

They need to update there website to BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. Then make it easier to make an appointment. Add it online so we don't have to sit on the phone for hours...Im going on 2.3 hours of hold time :(

Takes forever to pickup and lots of bugs. Been trying to fix something since August and can hardly get a hold of anyone and when I do they just keep telling me to wait. They lost my paperwork after an appointment there as well.

A bit of understanding goes a long way. Itu2019s been a very long, at times frustrating, process to get my name changed. I was finally able to speak with someone (Nate? I believe- thank you btw) politely but quickly pushing through a flurry of calls working from home, efficient and quickly to help as many people as possible. The workers are not in control of how the office is regulated, Iu2019m sure they would love to return to a less frantic pace with more understanding from the people they are helping regarding their work place. They workers may seem frank, but itu2019s the only way they are able to help as many people as they can in their work day. It takes some time to get through the phone lines- I have been trying for days. I have got the message that cuts you off, the busy signals all of it. The offices are overrun with calls and processing time is long with almost everything going through the mailing system being scanned, stamped and filed and documents mailed back off to later be processed and put into the system. Takes patience, and a bit of redial magic but eventually you will get help. Thank you to the Lewiston Social Security for doing your best under the imposed restrictions you have to deal with, it must be exhausting to have field the negative feedback that comes from being inundated with calls and not enough time or staff to get everyone taken care of in the time that they perceive fit.

During Covid-19, getting an appointment has been difficult; however, Justin Camp has been very helpful in assisting me to arrange appointments for my clients. If anything, I would hope the Social Security Administration could allocate more personnel/resources the the Lewiston Office since they serve such a large territory.

The most disorganized office I have ever encountered. If you have ANY other choice, please take it, I was supposed to come in today after I was told there would be walk i. hours today two weeks ago. Called before driving 1 hour from pullman to lewiston, where I had a friend drive me, having her almost work, only to informed that the person who took my information to put me in the list, DID NOT. And on top of that, I was suddenly told that I was not allowed to go to walk in hours today before of THEIR mistake, and the worst part, my other appointment (before i was told they had walk in hours) for the 15th was canceled (WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE), and when I tried scheduling for ANOTHER individual appointment that would be at a much much later date, they hung up on my face. Honestly, save your self the tears and the headache, if I had any other option in the world, I would take it. But sadly, I really have no choice and now have to find another time, convince my friend to take time out of her day and drive me up there AGAIN. Iu2019ve never had such an awful experience in my life, and iu2019m sad to say I feel like itu2019s going to get worse and iu2019m going to cry some more.

Their service is so horrible. I really recommend you not go this place. I made appointment in recently here. I drove 45 minutes to go there to submit the document and they closed even i made appointment that day. Please go diffrent place. Donu2019t waste time

I had some issues getting my new Social Security card and Shawn was an incredible help to me. He reprocessed my application incredibly fast and had a kind attitude the whole time!

I worked with a rep in the Lewiston office for 2 months. When I had a similar question, she refused to help me and referred me to the main telephone number that can sometimes take up to an hour to get someone on the line.

Don't even answer the phone. I believe this group in Lewiston should be reorganized.
    Nate Brock
Website states they are open for business. However, when you arrive, access inside is not permitted. You are directed by posted signs to the SSA Website. Which...if it were functioning properly, wouldn't have necessitated a trip to the brick & mortar building. Damned if you do. Damned if you don't.
    Anthony Rotella
I donu2019t even know why they are still in business. They make it so you have to call them but half of the time they either wonu2019t answer or they say call back another day. I will call and one lady will tell me something and the next day another lady tells me the complete opposite. Itu2019s like they donu2019t even know how to do there job. Itu2019s almost been a month since I turned in a form and they just wonu2019t look at it. They keep telling they will though.

I've been suffering from a disease for a year and a 1/4 now, attempting to get disability multiple times to no avail. Went there today (Wednesday) not knowing they closed at noon. The staff and security guard was extremely rude to my father and I. The security guards first comment towards my Dad waswhat business do you have here? Why are you here? While i was in pain passing bloody stool in the bathroom. My Dad told him that his disabled son was in the bathroom and he shut his arrogant, ignorant, inconsiderate, rude mouth. That guy needs to reconsider his profession or just get fired. Worst experience with licensedprofessionalsthat work for the state I've had in awhile, and people wonder why I dislike our government. A democracy is supposed to take care of our people, but here in Lewiston Idaho they are doing the exact opposite. This establishment is horrible -999/10. I hate what they do. I hope they read and pay attention to complaints so they can fix their stupid facility and get their stuff together so it can actually serve it's purpose in helping the disabled and poverty stricken people of the valley. You guys suck, change something, because right now, your system is a failure on every level.

My husband changed his name after we got married and these guys changed his middle name without telling us it wouldn't be legal to change his middle name without a court order. Now my husband doesn't even have a legal name and it's a whole mess. I am extremely disappointed in them and wonder about there competence

I've been trying to get a hold of anyone at the sso for 2 months every time I call they say an agent will be with you soon and then it says no agents available and it hangs up on me. How am I supposed to get help if there is no way to get ahold of anyone. Its unbelievably frustrating
    Ariele Hoaglin
I went in yesterday to get some stuff changed expecting them to be open like normal business offices, but they closed at 12 on a Wednesday! Why?! Then I went again today before work, my only other time this week that I can, and they had an hour wait which would have made me run late for work. They really need to fix their hours and get a bigger building so people aren't waiting outside for an hour. If I didn't need to get this done I wouldn't come back here.

Nice place but Way to Small. You sit knee to knee and shoulder to shoulder with people. I know they have money so why don't they make the office bigger.
