Recognition for Ms. Stephanie WellsnnGood morning,nI found myself in a very stressful situation needing confirmation of Medicare Part B coverage to avoid a COBRA unsubsidized payment of over $1500. I sent the paperwork to your office and was advised on a couple of occasions it was showing as pending and I needed to speak to the person it was assigned. Unfortunately I was not able to connect with the person. I called the office yet again as time was running out and thanks to God, Ms. Wells answered. She was very professional and most reassuring that she could help me because I was almost in tears and very frustrated with your office. She took the time to listen, put the information in the system, explained everything in a way that I could understand, advised that the system usually updates overnight and to give it a day to be sure as it would still give me enough time to avoid the penalty. She was very patient and of course apologized for SSA. I was so thankful and grateful that she answered and I felt comfortable that she was providing accurate information. I was elated she cared enough to help me and could get on with my day. I wrote her information down because if I need to contact SSA, I want to speak to Ms. Wells.nFinally, while this alone is worth kudos, Mrs. Wells called the next morning to let me know the system updated and I was all set. When I spoke to her, I asked what could I do and she said, nothing and I am just doing my job. Wow!! I wish all employees felt the same way.nnBest regards,nJanice Alexander

Originally this was a 1 star review after the first experience I had where the person made things as difficult as possible to move forward over the phone. This has been updated to 4 stars after speaking with Ms. Comer, who was very patient, courteous, and clear about what was needed to proceed over the phone. The in-person visit took all of 2 minutes because of all the preparations I made thanks to her help. The officer at the front was so very nice and person I dealt with briefly for the appointment was also very nice and helpful. Glad to report this positive experience overshined the original negative one.

When I called I didnu2019t wait too long to get connected to a gentleman who scheduled my appointment for the following morning. I showed up on time with all my documents and was let in by the officer at the door. Waited only about 5 min before I was helped. The whole process was maybe 10 minutes total and then I was on my way out. Very seamless fast service. Helpful professional and respectful representatives. Check the website for instructions prior to arrival.

I sent my documents by mail on 12/23 and was received by the office on 01/05 per FedEx signed by D.Jones. I have been calling the office since January to receive an update and have been given different responses like we havenu2019t received your documents, your names are not in our system, we declined the request for insufficient documentation and we sent back the documents on this day and you will receive it by the end of the week. I was also told that management doesnu2019t sign for any documents received, so Iu2019m like I guess Im just imagining things. They are very unprofessional. I have to purchase new identifications. Itu2019s very frustrating and I will never do this again. I would suggest to never mail in anything to Social Security Office because they will lose your documents. Save yourself sometime and make an in office appointment to handle your business.

Do not go here or sent out your document, I have also sent out my document that cost me almost 800$ to obtain and they lost it, Iu2019ve been trying to reach them over 2 month now and nothing had been said or updated, I am thinking about filing the claim against whoever the Social Security commissioner was at the time of my complaint. What kind of people are working here ? Unprofessional and no work ethic at all.

Wish I can make it no stars! I saw all reviews about them losing your important documents, after my wife sent them in and guess what?!? Lost our documents! I have a confirmation receipt showing the manager signed for the documents. Theyu2019re giving us every excuse in the book and every time they transfer us, we never get a answer! Itu2019s been 3 months going on 4 months. Terrible terrible terrible place!

I never received my ss card after 8 months, no clue if they sent it off somewhere. I called and the woman was completely rude over the phone. She was so snarky and asked me where I was born over and over and I kept telling her then she yelled at me and said she wouldn't help because I wasn't answering the question? Completely unhelpful and rude.

I got a court order to change my name back in 2020 just after we went into lockdown. Cue 2 years of attempting to make an appointment to change my name on [everything] beginning with my Social Security card. I live in Marietta, and that office shut down and moved to Kennesaw. I have spent countless hours on hold trying to get information on WHAT to do! I've had some people tell me to put my passport and license in the mail. I've been told to call the national number, the local number, you name it. Anyway, I started looking up reviews for office locations around the Atlanta area and this one had great recent reviews! I called and even though I was on hold for about 10 minutes, the man who answered was SO helpful and was even likeare you sure you want to drive all the way out here?before I gave him my sob story. Long story short: I FINALLY have an appointment to get my name changed on all my documents!!! Thank you!!!

If I could give this place a zero I would. Their phone lines are randomly turned off during the day. When you can finally get in touch with them, they have no interest in actually helping people. I get its a government agency so they have no incentive, but I have never encountered such incompetent and rude service officers in my life. I wish we can chose our field offices because these guys are awful.

It is a zero for me. Been waiting for like 45 minutes and at last somebody showed up to help. The worst part was that the security man was very disrespectful and rude to us this is the first time for me to feel that discriminated and disrespected in this country although he was more friendly towards others i dont know why but we felt very helpless beacause we had to wait for along time and people were arriving and leaving except for us and we didn't have anyone to ask for help exept this man who was ignoring us and unwilling to help at all ..i feel really bad.

If I could give 0 stars I would. No one ever answers the phone and Iu2019ve been calling for months waiting on hold. How can I schedule a in person appointment if you canu2019t even get someone on the phone. This is ridiculous to me.

Tried to get a replacement card for an apt. Worst site Ever! Can't pick a user name and there is No tech support when you get stuck. And you will get stuck as the site doesn't accept any username! Calling the 800 number does not offer help, but does offer a tired rep that also does not help. .

Awesome customer services on the phone. I donu2019t know his name but he was so rude and unhelpful the entire time. I was asking some simple questions about social security benefits and he was very mean like I donu2019t understand what he is saying. He didnu2019t even say bye or thank you for calling at the end of our call. Just hung up on me. Government agency doesnu2019t mean you donu2019t need to provide customer services.

No one ever answers the phone ud83dude12 just rings forever and then hangs up

Worst Social Security Office Place Ever! Theyu2019ve literally have been giving me the run around about my sonu2019s social security card since January. I mailed off all documents and they still denied me his card. A little over a month ago I got help from a guy name James saying he will mail off his card and I called today and they never did. I will not recommend this office. They have the worst attitudes
    Sharonda Bryant
The worst service Iu2019ve ever received. Terrible customer service. These employees are ghetto and rude.

Mrs. Campbell was amazing over the phone. We truly need more people like you. You are an Inspiration. She was very professional, knowledgeable, and precise.

I sent my daughters information off back in October!! I was told to send all my original paperwork because of covid (ID,birth certificate) and I havenu2019t got my information back yet! They donu2019t have any records of it being mailed back!!! No tracking number Iu2019ve called twice and I get the same songu201d you should have gotten it by now, leave a message someone will call you backu201d I feel like someone stole my personal information from this office!! Sad thing is one lady told me they who ever did my paperwork should have had a tracking number with my information. This office is just sad!
    Rozy Darling
The most useless office over. I was trying to change the name on my daughteru2019s social security card. I called this office and they asked me to mail the originals of all my documents with my application, which I did. The problem I wanted to correct was never corrected and all my documents are missing. My passport and my daughteru2019s passport, my daughteru2019s original birthday certificate and our social security cards are all missing. There is a hyphen in my daughteru2019s names which was missing on her card. Anytime I fill a form, it gets rejected because of the hyphen so I called them and they said I should mail all my documents. I have received the new social security card, yet without the hyphen and all my documents are missing too. I have called this office countless times, only for me to be told that they might have shredded the documents. Who destroys two passports that are not even expired yet. The biggest mistake of my life. All the people at that office have attitudes and very bad customer service, mannerless people. I donu2019t know how I can replace all my documents. God punish whoever mishandled my documents and got them missing, May you never know peace for the rest of your life!

I called and got a 3:30 appointment which was wrong because they donu2019t have appointments over 3:00 when I got there the security guard was acting like I owed him money was super rude and loud. First time last time

I had seen a lot of negative reviews, so I was apprehensive about going to this location. It is the closest one to me, and I figured I'd better go there (after dropping my grandson off to a nearby YMCA) in order to get there by the time it opened. Well, I got there right at 9 AM. I saw them let the first clients in, and there was a long line. It was about two hours from the time I waited in line and was called. I thought that was pretty good, considering the circumstances. My daughter had died, leaving two small children, so I went in there to be made Payee for their benefits. The first person who helped me was very kind, knowledgeable, and efficient. She informed me of other business I would need to take care of, and that I might as well do it while I was in there. So, she informed another coworker, and I was called shortly after that. That person did what she was trained to do (even gave me some candy when I told her I was hypoglycemic), then called another coworker who promised to take care of me before going to lunch. The third person was just as nice, and efficient, as the first two ladies. I got three issues taken care of that were important to my family, and it didn't take all day. All in all, it was a very pleasant experience. The guards were strictly business, but they were nice.

While visiting the SSA office located at 3554 Covington Hwy. Decatur, GanThe experience wasn't totally bad nor exceptionally great. Not enough seats for customer volume. I had to stand up all the while as I waited for my number to be called. Overall my visit was quick due to my reason for the visit. Representative registered me for online registration to proceed on for my needs.
