Was able to make an appointment (after they were closed for 2 years due to COVID) and was assisted by a super friendly lady! Also the security guard was great. Experienced good service :)

I am military and I have a deployment in a few months, I am trying to replace my social security and they never answer the phone and I have scheduled 3 appointments and they never do when I go I am not in the system. It is really a lack of respect not only for me but for every citizen, that we pay for this service and have to go through a situation like this.

4/18/22 arrived just after noon on Monday with NO appointment. The security guard was very friendly and helpful. Sign in and got taken care in less than 1 hiur.

Very rude, incapable of correct their mistakes and offered no help at all. She hung up on me. They would have been fired if this were a private business.nWe, the tax payers, are paying them to be nasty to us. How did they qet hired? They must know somebody higher up?

This is the a perfect example of the make believe horribly run gov system we have. We have zero help from social services for social security documentation. What kind of country is this we live in. Feels like 3rd world. how can a SS office be close for over 2 years now.
    Anita Kaestner
Have called every day for three days in a row now and have been hung up on each time. The automated system doesn't include enough information for me to know what to do and once put on hold, it just runs out of hold music and dumps the call. This is ridiculous. People's lives are being put on hold with no ability to update important information for health care benefits, taxes, and other things a SS Card is for!

Very poorly ran office. I'm retired military and can't get an appointment or even an answered phone call from this office. Need a new card for my card with updated last name.

I went there to get my name change , but they are close due to the Covid . They wanted me to send all the original documents, which include driver license, birth certificate. This is a sensitive documents, and how I am supposed to travel without driver license or even passport ? . It doesnu2019t make any sense at all . I wanted to set up an appointment in person but they didnu2019t even let me do it . All they wanted is mail it to them. Open up the office !!!!

This whole process is ridiculous. I have to send my original documents through the mail for a name change which for obvious reasons shouldnu2019t even be a process. Also, when calling to schedule an appt you have to give info just for someone to contact you back with an actual appointment. LOL. Seriously, Iu2019m still waiting on that call for the appointment. Is anybody actually working at social security????

The wait is usual for any Social Security office. There are times that are busier than others so prepare for that. I come here for my son and compared to the ones in NYC I can tell you there is a big difference. There is a security guard at this location that greets people as they walk in, will allow you to hold his arm as he walks you out, and is just so polite. He is the reason for the 5 stars.

Miss April is the best!!! Been really stressed about this all and she made everything easy and she was extremely nice and professional:) thank you!

    They never answer the phone.

I've never had a problem at this location. One of the largest sitting area I've encountered. Informative staff. Didn't take all day.

Nice and courteous staff. Guard is also very cooperative. Place needs to have more restrooms. The gate opens at 8:30 am and you start taking your ticket number. Then they start calling you at the counter from 9 am. So it's better to be there around 8:30 am. You can easily find parking on both sides of the building.

I finally got thru to someone. The pandemic really messed things up!
    Erika Levy
I had a positive experience here. The building is clean and the staff was extremely helpful tonme in directing me to the forms I needed and even helping me use the automated promoter. Be aware, they actually open the doors 30 minutes earlier than they indicate. This is so you can fill out forms and they starting calling people right on time!

I was just on the phone with a representative and i was asking the alternative documents i can bring since i dont have a picture id yet and i was hung up on mid sentence. Which is very disrespectful and rude and he sounded like he had no enthusiasm i cannot believe that.

I have lived in Tampa all my life I believe the people with the four and five stars are payed people or employees of the family this place haves always been knew for its long wait rude service and no I'm up to age the same experience I have to go threw the only polite people are the ones on the phones when u call but going down there. They are rude. An slow period

Definitely some of the rudest people I've ever encountered. I went in with my mother to start her terminally ill disability and everyone we encountered was short, snappy, flat out rude and totally unprofessional... I definitely feel that if your job is to service the public you should have utmost professionalism and sense of courtesy.

I would leave 0 if possible. I just dealt the nastiest most condescending woman I think I have ever encountered in a service type setting. After she belittled me several times inferring I can't read, she was overridden by a supervisor and i was able to obtain a replacement card. She is # 7 - and was not only doing me a favor apparently but made sure I knew how important she was and that I was a piece of sh**. Just for the record, I did read the website and brought what I was told. I hope to hell I never ever have to step foot in that office ever again!!

I visited the Social Security Administration today, not knowing what to expect. To my surprise my experience was very good. I've seen some bad reviews about the SSA and how terrible they are, and had some anxiety about going. Carlos was nothing but respectful and very helpful in educating me on my benefits and how to apply for them.
    Bruce Mullin
Very pleasantly surprised. Made an advance appointment. Did not have to wait. Both I and my wife were taken care of by a very attentive specialist in less than an hour. I came in with low expectations and was wowed.

Today 5/24 my daughter in law and I came in to this Social Security office for two separate issues. The 1st person that we saw send us away without even asking if we had other documentation and to come back and get a new ticket basically back to the end of a long waiting line. I got to see REB for my issue and he not only helped me but my daughter in law. He was GREAT just an amazing human being. It's people like this that deserve recognition. I'm forever grateful that he cared enough to help us. I wish there were more people like him. Thank you. My son is in Ft. Benning and this small act of kindness means the world to him. My family thanks you REB

I've been having issues getting my SS card sent to me since December, they claim its processed but it never arrives. Mrs. Carter went above and beyond her obligations to help me get to the root of the issue and resolve it (its on the post offices way they have my address listed). Thank you Mrs. Carter please keep up the great work!
