Very helpful and started our application right away! I was thinking due to negative reviews I can't even enter to the office because I don't have any appointment. People inside are very courteous and respectful made our application very swift and easy. Thank you so much!

Negative rating isn't an option...for this office it should be. Not only were they unhelpful (not rude), just grossly inept, they were unable to schedule an appointment because they could not see the schedule past the last full date of appointments. I was directed to call back the next business day. Confused on if they are just unable to do their jobs on Friday's or if the goal is to just ignore people until they break the law. This is a very incompetent office and the staff can read the written policy over the phone, that i had read and DONE, but is unable to problem solve or be of assistance. Is it the policy and procedures or are they truly uselessworkerscollecting a pay check for the bare minimum of assistance.

The Tallahassee office representative to whom I spoke was extremely helpful and informative, and my wait hold was only about 10 minutes to get my questions answered by phone. She clarified (mis)information given on the ssi website, let me know to which office my application was assigned and put me at ease regarding the process of applying for social security. Thank you, ma'am- I wish I had written down your name to give you proper credit!

Calls go unanswered for up to 20:47 minutes. After that length of time I hung up. I have recordings from seven other calls with the same results.nnWhen I moved from Georgia I had fuul benefits for Medicaid, the benefits were not transferred over to Florida and I keep getting the royal kiss off trying to get assistance with this matter. Does it anyone's really do work or is it a continuous coffee break from 9 to 5?

Trying to get someone on the phone is harder than it needs to be. I was hung up on twice after two 15 minute holds when calling to schedule an appointment.

The most unprofessional people you can deal with. Iu2019ve been trying to get my sons social to file my taxes for 3 months now and have gotten nowhere. They are saying Iu2019m missing documents but I triple checked and made sure I had original documents from each category. Now Iu2019m calling to find out if they got my mail and the man who answered the phone rudely hung up on me. I tried calling back and keep going on hold in circles without anyone answering the phone. After waiting for so long I had my wife call off her number and sure enough after 10 minutes she got someone on the phone so obviously they were purposely ignoring calls from me! After I got on the phone to explain what happened the agent transferred me to someoneu2019s voice mail now they arenu2019t answering from my wifeu2019s number either. You all should be ashamed of yourselves. If you donu2019t want to work there go find another job! You are there to help people!

I filed for a change of circumstance in my Medicare premium because my income decreased significantly the year after I retired. It took them several months to call me up, and when they did it was because they had a question about a fax I sent them that had been sitting around for a couple of months. She said she understood the issue and would take care of it. Next I got a letter from CMS saying that my premium was reduced. A few months later, My next letter from CMS had double the premium again. This is ridiculous. I called a Social Security office in another state they checked the computer and said that it was puzzling Because the computer showed that my premium was supposed to be less. So frustrating. Iu2019ve spent my career a government, and have not been a complainer about poor service. But this is ridiculous.

I am appalled that the only way I can obtain a duplicate SS card is to fill out the form and mail it AND my driveru2019s license to them and they will return my license in approximately 10 days! You can get a driveru2019s license in person, a tag, and a debit card on the spot; But not a duplicate SS card! WHO IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WOULD DO THIS! No telling who could copy it and use it. THIS NEEDS T BE CHANGED!

Total waste of tax payer money. No way to reach anyone here even for an appointment..

I spent two hours two weeks ago waiting in what feels like the Beetlejuice waiting room of unhappy people and an experience that encompassed zero customer service and accomplished nothing. I decided to fill out the application and send by mail instead. Apparently, my application waslost in the mailbecause it never arrived 10 business days after I mailed it and called to ask for a status update. Today, I was able to speak to a real, live human being who told me to come to the office with a copy of my marriage license and I should be able to get an updated one by Friday. I showed up and was told he was on the phone and five minutes later, he was not in the office. I left and called again and was told he hadn't bee in the office since yesterday. The next rep was nice and trying to help and then the phone just hung up. I called back a THIRD time and the automated system said they were busy and to call back later and saidgood-byeand HUNG UP! This is an incredibly frustrating process and way more arduous than it needs to be. I'm highly disappointed. As a business owner, if my team did 10% of this BS, we would be out of business in a heartbeat!

This was an excellent experience. Waiting time was minimal. The guy at #4 was very helpful with connections for special services, and getting a new card for her. She may have lost the old card when moving. We were very pleased upon leaving there.

First of all let me state that this review only reflects on the person who assisted my sister and I this morning. My sister is disabled and has cognitive issues so it's necessary for me to intercede for her in matters of this type. When I tried to provide some background information for why we were there (the number we tried to call to report September wages kept locking us out so we called the 1-800 number and reported the wages but were told we'd need to visit our local office to verify if we were indeed calling the correct number), she said she couldn't help us because we hadn't brought my sister's September pay stubs with us. I explained that we'd already reported those wages and just needed to get the correct number to report wages for October and that we also had questions about signing my sister up for social security since she'll be turning 62 in December.nShe looked at the number we'd called, which was on a print-out we'd received from THAT office in August of this year and saidnno that was not the correct number and left to get another print-out that was different but had the SAME number! When I brought that to her attention, she said she never said it was the wrong number, just that she was getting us an updated print-out!nAs far as signing up for social security, she told us my sister had to wait until the month AFTER she turned 62 so we should come back in January! I didn't think this was correct but I wasn't completely sure so when I got home I got on the SSA website and sure enough, we could have gotten her signed up today!nThis was the 5th time I've visited this office and the 2nd time I've interacted with this woman. The first time she was not overly friendly but she was no where as rude as she was today. And my sister, who usually finds the best in everyone, even said something when we got outside!nThe other 3 representatives I encountered on my other visits couldn't have been nicer or more helpful!nI understand it's a hard and thankless job....and it's especially difficult right now for everyone in the aftermath of Hurricane Michael. But not only was she unprofessional, she provided incorrect information, which reflects badly on the SSA!

The recorded messaging system works well, considering it's a federal office. What I didn't like was being told, 15 minutes after the office opened, that I could wait on the line 35 minutes to make an appointment, or I could leave my phone number and they would call me back in 80 minutes, to make an appointment. It makes me worry about how much time I would spend there, once I have an appointment.

Newlyweds! I signed in, waited 2 minutes and got to a window because all I was doing was changing my last name. I went on a Tuesday at 11am and the man was helpful and friendly. I got a receipt stating my new name so I can go to the DMV after 24 hours and request a new drivers license because the card takes 7-10 business days to get to your house. So happy with the service. Hope everything goes as smoothly for everyone else!

I had a grave problem with benefit that left me with no choice but, to travel 1 hour thirty minutes to this SSI office in person. Upon, my wait my number was skipped due to a non scheduled appointment verification. I proceeded to a window where I was assisted by a Representative named Michael, a passionate advocate to assist me emailed my Rep Ms. Tucker who couldn't assist due to prior appointments. Micheal assisted and alerted Ms. Lee with my problem. Both Rep's knowledge has given me the confidence of assurance that my problem will be resolved with this 13 month delay-meant of benefits owed. I Thank both representatives for their experience of knowledge and professional commitments to warrant my needs and concerns. 10 Stars for Services Rendered.

Horrible, horrible, horrible service!!!! I applied for my son's social when he was born, that was 2yrs ago and to this day we have only received his social security number but have never received his SS card. I then got married last year and applied for a new social with my new last name..and guess what? I celebrated my 1yr anniversary last month and I still have not received either my SS card or my sons. This will be my 6th time going up to this office in the last two years about the exact SAME ISSUE. It is like I am talking to the world's most incompetent people. I wish I could report them!nNot to mention the last time I was at the SS office, I had an appointment and the entire SS office staff except the security guard went on a 30-minmeeting hiatushow unprofessional?! I was subsequently late to work although I had an appointment. This place needs to be shut down SMH.
    Monica Pignotti
Much better than what I expected based on some of the reviews I read. I was in and out in an hour and I came at a busy time, Monday morning after the office had been closed during the storm. The person who took care of me was courteous and professional. The only thing I would change is to have better signage to point to where the booth numbers are and where to check in and that we do need to check in on the computer they have.
    Amanda Blackwood
You do NOT hang up on someone who has been on hold for 30 minutes just because your office closes right at 4!! Especially when that someone has been dealing with your office for over 2 months trying to sort out a problem that YOUR office created in the first place. I can not receive my tax return until my issue is resolved, and it is delayed because of 100% poor organization on this office's end. I will go above and beyond to speak with someone as high up as I can possibly go about how extremely disappointed I am in how this has been handled.

It was a long process. It was a xomicated case as well. However after experiencing incompetent staff issues the ball got going. Miss Schultz was especially professional, competent, efficient, empathetic. If anyone dealing with this office wants to get it done she is the person to make it happen if possible.
    William Martin
Totally satisfied with the service. Signed in at 10, no appointment, read a book, saw the employee at 11. First issue a benefits letter took 10 minutes. Second issue was getting back on line as I was locked out. Ten minutes and she gave me a new pass word.

Everytime I call I am.put on hold for 20 to 30 minutes then hung up on
    Zachary Greenfield
Much faster and easier than expected. I printed and filled out the form at home.nnAccording to the other reviews they send you through one of their patented phone tree mazes if you call, but I don't even know why you would really need to call them. It sounds like it would be faster and easier just to come in person.

Made an appointment by phone, told them I wanted Lake City. On the way to Lake City got a cell call from SS wanting to try to handle over the phone. Told them I had an appt in Lake City at SS. I asked where the appt was supposed to be and they said Tallahassee. Turned around and drove to Tallahassee. Signed in at the Kiosk and got a ticket. Ticket has a U which meant sign in was unsuccessful but no way to know that from the ticket. Security guard told every one to turn off or mute cell phones. While sitting in the office I got a call from a number I didn't recognize and didn't answer. Got a second call and went outside to answer. It was SS telling me that since I hadn't showed up for my appt I had to call and reschedule. But I'm in the waiting room and it took 100 mile round trip to get there. Eventually saw a rep and things worked out, but I never want to go to a SS office again if I can help it.

Tried calling for help to access my social security account after I was locked out. I was given options for information about everything but how to get into my account after being locked out. I also wanted to report a phone scam I received but again no options for reporting a scam.
    Wendy Turney
Super rude and not helpful at all. I went in with a complicated matter hoping to get some resolution and essentially was told there's nothing that they can do (after being instructed by the Social Security hotline number to go into my local office because they couldn't help me either). The lady who assisted me was very combative and overall not a nice person. THIS is exactly why I try to avoid this office like the plague! But now I'm here stuck with no answers and not sure what to do next. Thanks A LOT Tallahassee SS office for wasting my time!

I havn't even been there and I hate it already. It only took me about 20 seconds with their automated system to make me want to jump off a bridge. First of all, dont make a noise, lest it think yourmaking a selectionand restart the epic that is their automated recordings.nnMy god.nnI have a go phone from family dollar for *expletive* sake. I get 240 minutes a month, and these people have the nerve to drag me through a 6 minute automated process and then tell me there are no representatives available, no option to be on hold, and told to try my call again later.nnWhen was the last time this place got some funding? 1975?

Long wait but the people working are patient and kind. Ms. Smith was a compassionate professional and she deserves to be commended for her work. Thank you, Ms. Smith. You are an incredible asset to the SSA and our community.

The Pandemic is over this is a essential business. The government needs to reopen the social security office so that the citizens that are paying them can handle their business!
