EDIT: Apparently they are open, but they only allow 9 people in at a time. You must get a number and then wait outside until it is your turn. Hope this is helpful to anyone who has not been able to contact them. Good luck!nnNobody picks up the phone. They said someone would contact us within 72 hours to set up an appointment to have our documents verified and we never received a call back. That was over a month ago. I have been calling but never get through to a person.

Medicare. Read Joy's review from two weeks ago, and I'm in the same boat. Applied for Medicare on Dec 2, and application showed 2-4 weeks for processing. It's now been over 6 weeks. You have to apply for Medicare thru SS. So unfortunate as I was able to get thru to Medicare in 4 minutes and spoke to a very polite woman. Medicare said to call the local SS office because the national office is too difficult. I get the feeling that I'm never going to get a response out of these people. It's just going to be a long waiting game. Apparently, they still want the federal income taxes on time.

I applied for medicare on October 12, as my 65th birthday was coming up in January (supposed to take 4-6 weeks to process). As of Dec 5th, I'd heard nothing though when I went to the SS website, it said they had received my app and someone was reviewing it and if they needed anything, they would contact me. Still nothing as of December 26, so after 3 days of trying to get through on the phone, was finally able to get through and find out they needed my original birth certificate so I would need to make an appt then drive to Port Orange to take it in person (to speed things up!) Today is January 4 and I still have received no correspondence so I'm going to have to pay over $500 this month for insurance because I can't cancel till I have a medicare number. I've been on the phone for hours over the last two days and still cannot get through. After 15 minutes of recordings and rings, the phone connection just cuts off. If this is the way our government offices serve their elderly, we're in trouble!

Where do I begin? I got divorced during the pandemic. I wanted my maiden name back. I tried to get an appointment and was told they did not schedule them for name changes, that I would need to mail in ORIGINAL documents or drop them off. I took them to the office and was forced to use a drop slot that was stuffed full of everyone elses documents. 2 months later I never heard back from them, never got a new card with name change. I called many times and sat on hold and was hung up on. Eventually I did get an answer, and they proceeded to tell me that they mailed me back my documents and that they did NOT change my name because I did not send originals. Keep in mind I dropped off my original birth certificate, my drivers license and my original divorce decree. I told them I did not get them back and they then told me they mailed them to OHIO. I have not lived in Ohio in years. I certainly did not supply my Ohio address to them so I am not sure what address they sent them to. So now, not only do I have to replace all of my original documents, but I also have to worry that some stranger in Ohio has all of my personal identifying information.nnThe social security website states that if they lose your documents they will pay to replace them. When I mentioned that the girl on the phone literally called me aliarand hung up on me.

I have been waiting over 6 months now to become my grandchild representive/ payee. Can't reach anyone by phone or if you do 2 to 3 hours on hold and then no one can answer why. I thought this was to benefit the child. 6 months!!!

Poor service. Never been able to get thru on the phone. Office closed. Online services are not easy to take care of business. Today I will certify my mail to make sure they receive. Have a grandson that is now of age with CP and they took his benefits away years ago I'm sure the parents did something wrong that he had no control over at that age. How do people get the help they need.

i think this is by far the worse office in FL. the staff are rude and unprofessional and also don't speak very good English more like spanglish. why put someone in a job like that if they cant even communicate with people correctly? They never return your call or emails but send you all kinda stuff in the mall saying call us if you have any problems or questons. The entire staff needs to be fired you would have a better chance with a robot then with those joke of employee's at that office.

Tried to call numerous times only to be put on hold. Three separate times on hold for over 20 min only to be discounted each time. I realize this is a busy part of government but to not even get an answer is not acceptable. As a former government employee myself I am ashamed.

Land of the lost. Angry customer service, at least an hour wait to get someone online and the line just goes dead when they put you on hold. Government at its bestu2026.lousy service, crabby representatives and pure bureaucracy.

Lovely staff and I was so glad they are finally open again and I could handle my business without mailing all my stuff in

They are the worst. You canu2019t go in person, you cannot ever get through their phone lines and when you do they are the most unhelpful people ever. They told me they would send my missing ssc certified 7-10 business days (I had to fight to get them to do this) and itu2019s day 20 and still no card.

I have called several times but I'm unable to get in touch with anyone. They also send inaccurate information about my status.

I become citizen in October. And apply for insurance and all benefits . They make me wait for 2 mouth and then denied. So I sent a reconsideration letter what took another 2 months. And at the end they ask me security questions about my mom last name and ask me to provide bank account. So after two months reconsideration they changed my actual last name to my mom last name ( was mentioned in security question) and account which I provided is joint with my daughter. So they said that is my income. This people just making everything no sense and more difficult. Because I waiting almost 5 months for my insurance and Iu2019m disabled and not able to get my prescription medication because of that. This Offise need to be more professional and responsible for service what they providing.

I have tried for a couple weeks to get through to this office. Holding for 30 mins to an hour each time only to be cut off, calling back again, waiting again, sending emails etc. Nothing has been answered.
    Maricia Humphrey
Horrible place, rude staff and constantly hanging up the phone or put you on hold for extended periods of time. If you hate your job please don't come to work. It's very distasteful.

I never received my new card with a name change after marriage and had to come to the office 3 times within a month period, merely for a name change. Was told I could use the receipt of my name change to change at other facilities to change my name...not one place have let me use that. No one is helpful there. So now I'm supposed to worry about my card out there somewhere since they said it got mailed out but I never received it. I hope I get myreplacementcard and I don't ever have to go back into this office. Also a two hour wait for a replacement card??? There has to be a better system. I waited over 2 hours for a not even 5 minute process. Absolutely ridiculous.

My experience with this office has been outstanding. I have made several calls in the past few years, and two in the past month, and have been treated with utter courtesy and professionalism. I had no wait time, and got the answers I needed very quickly. I am very grateful for the excellent service provided. Thank you so much!

Perfect service. We made an appointment in advance - 5 or 6 weeks ahead. It took about 40 minutes of waiting on the line but it was worth it.nThe clerk Mike took us in time. He was very professional, accurate, knowledgeable. He answered all our questions, gave perfect answers, and we were done with all our problems within minutes. Great job. Thank ypu.

Arrived at 9 and waited for my F number to be called. All F numbers were being called to window A taking about 5 minutes each. I had F155. They went all the way from F 145 to F154, then switched to other numbers, only to continue with F156 and 157! Not only did I get skipped, after that the lady left the window, returning later to continue with number F158! I informed about this skipping and was called soon after. So I waited 45 minutes after the last F number was called. Once at the window all went smoothe, taking only 3 minutes. Ms Ashley was fast and cooperative. The stars are for her only.

Disaster, they don't care. my wife is been trying to change her last name and they sent her the application three times with no details and lost her SS card. When we call to ask about what exactly they need they can't answer correctly. Very frustrating experience.
    Cathy Fisher
I waited 4Hours for A form to fill out. They should have the guard ask what you need and if it doesn't require a representative just a form they should have it at their desk. The service was terrible. Forget setting up a account on line I've been trying for over an hour and still can't get a username it will accept. It doesn't offer a suggestion.
    Antoinette Walder
Rude, very very rude. They want me to mail my passport AND OFFICAL drivers license in the mail and somehowtrustthat my documents don't get lost. If they get lost or stolen, are you going to pay for those to be replaced then?
    robert mochel
Iu2019ve always had a positive experience here. I grasp the concept of governmentalnProcess so waiting is to be expected, like the DMV. If you expect it to be like Starbucks then you are delusional.
    Shannon Mcree
THIS IS PLAIN B.S!!! THEY PUT YOU ON HOLD FOR 20 MINUTES, THEN HANG UP ON YOU SOME PEOPLE DONT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT COMPUTERS!!! THEN THEY FORCE YOU TO DO THIER JOB!!!! SO SAD!!!! THATS WHAT THE GIVERNMENT HAS COME TO!!!!!
    Linda Lambert
I arrived with great trepidation after reading all the bad reviews. However, that u201cawfulu201d security guard opened the doors 10 minutes early, helped those who needed it, and was friendly and courteous to everyone. The line moved slowly or quickly, depending on how computer-literate each person was, and when a problem arose with the machine, the guard assisted. I had a problem that required more assistance so had to go through 2 lines, but I was still out of there faster than I expected, and happy because Nate Turner found a way to help me. He listened to my problem and gave me every consideration. Could it be that if you give the person helping you the same consideration you expect, you might leave happier, too.
